Matt, Alarms have been discussed on here many times. I haven't searched but I'm sure if you do - you will find. Nothing wrong with Mongoose 5 star alarms. You can spec them with whatever you like ANY alarm though is only as good as the install - if it can be found - it can be bypassed.

Darren, I have wired many cars for ipods to AV inputs in video module. Pins 6 & 15 are video + & - respectively Pins 4 & 5 are audio + & - respectively Yes you can run video lead to here. Then select AV in your TV channel select to watch

Thanks for the positive feedbacks guys Agree the biggest issue is getting the cables through the boot - car conduit - gotta hold your tonge right.
-
One hell of a nice E34 you have there Simon. One to be proud of
-
HB man - have a good one

I would doubt that thread tape would stop it. My bet, since thread tape is in there, the thread has already been stripped. Try blowing out with air - you should surely be able to clean the hole & be able to diagnose. If stripped - then yes to a Helicoil

My understanding from Jochen is that we (NZ) are using a new (& different) diigtal frequency to Europe & probably other countries as well. Can't remember specifics of frequencies but they do differ.

Dunno - I had a 2.3 Mk5 years ago - was a minter & it ran the same - made a great car from the old Cortina. This was after a Mk3 2000E manual, itself a nice car but these cars were much nicer with the wee 6 in them

Yep - with John on this. I bet too that Marcus has seen more than he wants to of the human carnage that is created by these antics. The sooner NZ (& the world for that matter) gets over the PC bulshit the better off we will be

Classic I gather you put him in "his" place

I can't even fit a standard surround on the back of ours. The plate itself only just fits.
-
Yep, know what you mean - seen it before. Some people just don't give a rats about vehicles - even their own. If I caught someone doing this- I would act pretty much as you did
-
Allan, Haven't done one but picture shows no breakdown of sensor/ seal so from that - obviously not available from stealers. If the seal comes off - can it matched with a generic one - eg - is it a typical round section O ring? If so - you should be able to get another from Engineers Supplies or similar

Love it - one nice E34. It scrubs up well
-
There are some F##kwits in this world. The things some people do defies belief sometimes
-
With respect - sounds like you ought to get it professionally checked
-
^^^^ yep quite often left foot brake in auto's , no real pattern as to when though As far as heal/toeing - not tried a lot & definitely not mastered
-
Me keen
-
C for me & as others have said - bigger stripes & lose the BS - ironically, "Bullshit" came to mind as soon as I saw it too- & before reading Simons post. Only problem - I can only fit one to the front of the E39 - don't feel inclined to replace the Jap bootlid for the hell of it:-) Then again - can put a set on the E12's black plates.

Hi Michael, welcolme to the site. Is the coolant level definitely above the level sensor? If so - a sensor/wiring/connection problem
-
Gotta love the analogies here
-
Depends - there are variations between models 325's have a medium case where 320's are small - can interchange the two with doing halfshafts as well Ratios- Generally autos - 4.1(318) or 4.45 (320 facelift) Pre F/L 320 autos can be 3.7ish Manual 320's 3.6ish There are heaps of variations

Ian, The DVD nav unit in the enclosure is the factory Jap Alpine unit - Take out & chuck over your shoulder & fit retrofit replacement to get nav running. Done heaps. Kenwood unit - not OE fitted - not sure exactly what its there for either - maybe it's been integrated into the car via video module:-. Hook on user name to get send message option - I will to you.

Have a search - there has been heaps of E39 info put on here
