  1. 20" look allright on the cars tho. 18"s look tiny.
  2. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368485 Rendered by someone more talented than Bangle. But I really dig the Racing Dynamics design. Also full options list. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=371958 Chrome wheels is on the menu!!
  3. Thats pretty amazing fidelity not just the car but whatever videocam they used. I wish my E39 sounded like that
  4. Nice car. Its a great car the E39. Hope you enjoy it.
  5. Nice. You do lose the CD changer don't you?
  6. Wasn't a judge that keyed your car?
  7. Having driven the E46 touring, I think that the back seat is tiny. No leg room and the wagon doesn't really add more space. Have you considered a VW Golf wagon or a Passat wagon? Black V6 Passat Wagon Blue V5 Passat Wagon Silver Golf GTi Mk4 Wagon Blue Golf GT Wagon Passats, Golfs and Mazda 6 all have Euro NCAP 4 star ratings. To get significantly better crash protection, you need to be looking at newer cars. Toyota Avensis gets 5 star Euro Ncap from 2003. Other alternatives are Volvo V40's or V70's. silver 320D - just spotted this Cheers.
  8. http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/03/13/leaked-p...series-touring/ Impressions? Not as edgy as the E61. Kinda bland looking IMO. Hopefully with an M-sport kit it should look the business
  9. The display goes all funny if you don't change the Nav computer. It works but you can only see what channel you've tuned to on the OBC panel just below the rev counter/speedo. Do the lot. Get the Nav computer and get the tuner upgrade. Cheers.
  10. Ken Braun Panel and Paint. Top blokes and top job.
  11. Probably a repost, but awesome wheel to wheel racing anyway
  12. Take the back road from Wanaka to Queenstown. Great views and awesome hairpins Haast pass is also a great drive. Most of the roads in south island are pretty straight with bugger all traffic. Have fun.
  13. Agree with Kerry. Ken is the bomb. Very thorough.
  14. Msport has lower suspension and bigger sway bars. Massive difference in cornering at reasonably high speeds. Car used to roll heaps going up the Kaimai's. Upgraded to Motorsport front and rear sway bars and nearly all the roll dialed out. Other bits as everyone says, is cosmetic, but I'd buy the motorsport for the suspension difference alone.
  15. Alcantara better than leather Harder wearing and used in Astons, Lambos etc
  16. 540i heck of a lot more grunt without a corresponding increase in consumption. Usually also has more options. Get the 540i or the 530i
  17. I bought my wagon for $25K. Motorsport with 116K kms in Sept 09. All the extra options as well. There are tourings out there but not many in M-sport and hardly any V8 wagons. I've been offered by a local Hamilton dealer sourcing a wagon for a client to sell mine for $23K. I would say you are looking at minimum $21K, hopefully more with those kms. Some prefer M-sport and will pay more. I did Cheers.
  18. E39 Wagon. Have it and love it. Comfortable and yet sporty enough for a backroad blast
  19. I drove a 118d in Munich. 5 of us fully loaded and it had no problems doing 170 ~180km/h on the autobahn. No diesel clatter on the inside and pretty quiet on the outside. It was a manual and if you stopped at the lights and push the clutch in and popped it into neutral, the engine shut itself down. I thought I broke the damn thing! Consumption was amazing. 12L of diesel for 286km of driving. Thats 4.2L/100kms! Involved autobahn driving at full tilt and some city driving on a Sunday from Munich to Schwangau to see the Schloss Neuschwanstein. It would depend on what sorta car and for what sorta use. If it was a daily driver, then sure, an automatic diesel is not a problem. Definitely not for a weekend car tho
  20. Do it for looks. Massive increase in unsprung weight tho. You will need carriers, calipers and discs. IMO, don't bother. Get better tyres, pads and change in brake fluid.
  21. http://www.probars.co.nz/ Ask them nicely and they could possibly make something up for you if they don't already have it in stock Cheers.
  22. 2203= 22nd wk of 2003! Nearly 7 years old. Time for some new rubber
