98 STI with 77km. Yeah i realise 'wear and tear' things aren't covered. But its the big stuff that worries me, like 'boxes and motors. That link i put in above, do you reckon 'smaller' firms like that are sweet? Or should i go with larger firms like Lumley etc?

One of the better ones i have seen is the following: $1070 for 3 years $125 excess Max claim Purchase cost of vehicle Are small frims like this dodgy? Has anyone had any experiance with warranties? The main reason I turned to the dark side. Any amount of power is never enough. But there is i sweet spot i reckon. Where, yes you could do more, but it will always catch you with, 'yeaaah, this pulls.' IMO the m20 falls JUST below this level. (In stock -> mild tune). It sux bc I reckon it is just, by the tiniest amount, not quick enough. What is an m20? 170hp? 210-220hp would be mean. 280hp in an FR e30 would would be so mental. Its a real shame a 250hp e30 isn't very affordable.

Carl is dead right, any gains will be offset with the cost to replace. Fuel economy: The worst car isnt even that bad if you don't floor it everywhere. My STI is not really any worse than my e30. Nothing noticable anyway. The way you drive it has 100x more impact. I suppose it just so happens that 'economical' cars are slow, so you dont drive them 'spirited'. So it exacgerates how ecomonical they are. Solution IMO is make it more expensive to register older cars, like Japan. Therefore it gets to a point where you may as well upgrade to a newer car. I know you e30 g33ks love that idea.
