you can probably find that stuff on the internet. slowest to fastest: GSR RS VR4 (though with old ones it is probably more condition dependant than anything else, they are all pretty similar stock) VR4's have the most potential. GSRs cant handle much more boost unless you start increasing fuel, and then the rods break. RS's have average drivelines/gearboxes. Problem is most of these cars are like a used up hooker. Good like finding a VR4 that isn't jaded.

i cant. i refuse to believe that there isnt one out there after 20 years. I mean its not a complicated engine, someone must have mapped all the sh*t for a plugin chip. What would you recomend then for sub $500 performance increase? Headers would be ok, but i dont want an exhaust, and therefore i would feel headers are a waste. (I love being able to kane around in stealth.)

i want a chip. I refuse to believ that after 20 years you can't get a decent upgrade chip. I would try an ebay one, but they are all for the 173 ECU. I cant find anyone who does one for the 073 ECU, (excet e30zone, but they are f**king me around). So any help? Not really interested in spending $500+ on a link or something, looking for a relatively cheap upgrade. Am I dreaming?

i looked into this in my old car. It is sweet if you have the 'new type gas'. But i doubt you do, so you have ot get it converted then regassed. Circa $300 i was told. yellow pages, heaps of places do it. I dont have A/C in my car

Did it make you feel like a real man did it?

It sounds like you;ve mad up your mind, so why are you asking for opinion?GSR would be quicker than a 325i. You get more buzz out of driving the slower RWD BMW than a GSR. Take that to the extreme; a Phaeton is a fast car, but you are driving in a cloud. Pace doesnt neccesarily equal driving buzz. Anything has got to be a step up from 318i
-
As mentioned anything is fast compared to your 318i. Consider these factors with regard to turbo jap cars: -gas - more of it needed -insurance - more of it needed -can't leave it parked anywhere, it will get broken into and or stolen -cops like to pull you over more -you will speed more = more chance of fines -you will speed more = more chance of crashing -manitory modifications needed - tinits, mags, sacking, alarm (good one), CAI, exhaust, more boost (even if it is 400hp you'll want more), -with those mods comes need for mods so you wont break stuff, more fuel, better cooling, new clutches etc. -the 'drive' is inferior to RWD cars -feel tiny and plastic next to BMW -safety (questionable)
