  1. Side note, BMParts are often in the ballpark of FCP/Pelican + Freight for some items. Pays to check.
  2. Only catch here, the $400 amount isn't a per consignment thing, its actually a daily thing, if you have multiple show up at the same time you're screwed.
  3. I'm Not selling it, but at $32 on sale it saves a couple of bucks. https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/haynes-haynes-car-manual-bmw-3-series-2005-2008---4782/286665.html
  4. How much of a prick are they to change? I'm going for compliance Monday, suspect this hose will fail it. If it does I'll grab it.
  5. Things may have changed regarding business vs personal, but i'm pretty sure zero flying fricks are given. Same rule, they will collect If the GST/Duty/Charges exceed NZ$60 on the entire purchase (Value of goods AND freight (I think the last part is bullshit)) at the time of landing. They tried to frick me on the last part one time, as my USD$WHATEVER was NZ$398ish charged to my card, but by the time it arrived the NZD had dropped in value and my goods became worth NZ$405ish. I sent them a copy of my credit card statement showing NZ$398ish deducted by the vendor and basically told them to get fricked, and they let it through.
  6. Looking for some power steering hoses, as attached. Looks like one piece assembly? @HELLBM @BM WORLD 32416786389 Expansion hose 32416785638(01/15/2008 — 09/03/2007), Exchangeable retrospectively 32416779313(06/13/2006 — 05/05/2014), Exchangeable retrospectively 32416778030(05/22/2006 — 11/06/2006), Exchangeable retrospectively 32416774313(09/01/2005 — 10/05/2006), Exchangeable retrospectively 32416764752(05/31/2004 — 08/22/2005)

  8. Compression test results 1: 200psi 2: 200psi 3: 195psi 4: 200psi So I think that rules out the head gasket.
  9. Jesus, that looks like it sucked, only read the first post, so tl;dr me? Once I have the gasket set handy I'll begin working on her. Based on my lack of milkshake, it's looking more and more like a leaky rocker cover gasket than head.
  10. Well the weather sucks so I'm not getting under the bonnet today. But now I'm suspecting the head gasket is fine, not burning any water. And medium oil loss from what looks like the exhaust side of the rocker cover. Given the heat and angle, it probably leaks a bit and is the cause of the smell. But it starts fine, runs fine, doesn't overheat, only warning light is overdue service, and has what I suspect is pretty standard around town fuel, averaging around 10L/100k. Gave it a dry wof run, only faults are delamination on a tyre, dodgy looking power steering hose and an indicator light. Quietly hopeful to have this girl on the road for a total cost of well under trademe prices. God damn I love the aggressive lines down the sides.
  11. Gas/oil coming out around the exhaust manifold complete with a puffin sound. Compression test will provide clarity. I'm guessing with the DME system an engine swap will be more of a nightmare?
  12. Well lads, it's time, on a whim I bought an E90 that has been in a friend's driveway for a couple of years. https://www.carjam.co.nz/report/?ref=FF72AE32 Price paid was about the value of the wheels and tyres, so I can't really loose any money. It runs, in fact, with a new battery it started immediately, after not running for over a year. The catch, per subject, is I'm fairly sure it has a blown head gasket. Will pressure test this weekend. If I'm right, how much of an arse of a job is it? Weekend warrior material or kill myself material?
  13. Heading almost click bait, but seriously, between the paint job and the dash, the backseat and the straight pipes, oh and its auto... what the crap. https://www.trademe.co.nz/2236034918
  14. I don't, but, that seems cheap, not that I'm up to the play with the price they normally are. But generally M + Manual holds its value pretty well
  15. This must be nudging 6 Figure (NZD) build cost territory, the engine had to be 40k?
  16. Well, Holy cow, check this beast out. https://engineswapdepot.com/?p=43736 Got bored looking for videos of it running. Seems like it's not that rare of a conversion.
  17. This looks like a good example at this price point, interested to see what the bidding does, I've got my heart sent on a campervan at the moment but if the sale falls through I think i'll give it a nudge. 19. I do miss the flame wars back when SMG became a thing.
  20. @M3AN I agree with your points except 3, he's converted it to KM for the listing, 107mi being around 172k. For me, Red Leather would be fine if it was 6spd, or SMG if it was black... but both together are a no go.
  21. Still there, don't have a particular affinity to that one.
