Have you finished your hairdresser training yet Brent?? You'll have to start plucking your eyebrows pencil thin.

What turbo's are you going to run?? Looks alot friendlier in an e30 engine bay than in the boat it came out of.. I have watched someone work on one of these engines.. I think I would prefer to work on the M70's than these any day.. I think there may still be some parts in the shed from one of these engines..

Sorry Nm you are correct.. Yes they rattle gunned them on and didnt put the torque wrench on until I requested them to do so which showed they were at least twice what they said they did them up to..

Hrmmm, Yes having a punture and not being able to remove the wheel because the key for the lock nut strips while trying to get the wheel off... I knew there was going to be no way in hell it was going to come off after having to borrow a breaker bar and socket and literally jumping on the end of it (cheers guys at Repco) because the standard bmw wheel brace was just bending. In the end I bought a small 12v compressor pumped the tyre up and leap frogged my way home. Called the Tyre shop the next day, they sent a mobile guy out and couldnt get it off. Drove the car into their shop and sat there for 3 hours while they bashed the hell out of the rim with hammers and chisels. 5 oclock came around and still couldnt get it off. They offered a death mobile for me to use for a charge.. Refrained from using bad language and kindly declined their offer.. Was just about to leave and finally they cracked it. They put my spare wheel on and gave me the bill.. I laughed assuming it was a joke.. somewhere in the vicinity of $300. Callout fee + labour to remove the locknut + putting the spare tyre on and they had cut me a deal at that price... Nah ah ah.. If you guys didnt do them up so tight in the first place I would never have been in this predicament. "Oh but the wheels were put on 3 months ago they can tighten naturally after driving and who knows what youve been doing with the car, it looks pretty dirty" ???%$@#^#&%^ Ok.. so what do you guys torque the wheels up to when you put them on?? "for BMW's we set them to 120ft lbs (I think is what they said)" Ok wheres your Torque wrench.. they set the torque wrench to 120ft lbs and put it on the wheel they just put on and straight away "click" "see its at 120ft lbs" Ok increase it to 130 "click straight away" 140 "click" 150 "click" 160 "click" 180 "clicK" 200 "click" 220 "click" 240 "click" (twice what they said they did them up to with out the wheel nut budging) Right.. wheres your Manager.. had a rip roaring argument with him telling me that wasnt how a torque wrench worked.. while the lacky ran round the car with a breaker bar loosening off all the other wheelnuts. Told him to stop, he carried on and I had to physically put my hands over the wheel nuts to stop him. Still insisted I pay the bill. Stood firm and told him we could sort it out one of 2 ways.. Manager rang the owner and they offered a further discount.. "someone has to pay for the labour to remove the locknut". Laughed and said see you in the Disputes Tribunal. He snarled and basically told me not to go back there. I laughed in his face. Out of interest anyone know what wheel bolts will snap at? Poohry Tyres you SUCK Edit: another melowpuf super novel post..

Once you take into account Gearbox + shipping, Flywheel (factory or custom), clutch, shifter, pedals, master and slave cylinders, crossmember, driveshaft, it starts to get up there very quickly..

alot easier if you open the link to the bigger image, put your face right up to the screen about an inch away and stare... try go crosseyed a bit, you should start to kind of focus on something and slowly work your way further from the screen.. you should start to enter the new dimension..
-
MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! always wondered if they would work on a screen.. seems they do

On an E34??

I will try not to think about it.. For the OP, the Police do try to make it hard if there is little or poor evidence for a complaint to proceed with prosecution. As has been said before, seek legal help (community law centres are free but you really have to push them, free for a reason). Get disclosure from Prosecution, see what evidence they have against you, and hope its nothing too incriminating.. plan your defense accordingly.

The way I looked at it, my grandfather was possibly the worlds worst driver... he was half crippled and couldn't turn his head to look sideways or behind, had probably zero peripheral vision and should not have been driving full stop. But he was a determined old bugger.. Had he have gone through what I was about to do to this old goat it would probably have sent him to his death bed.. Trust me I was extremely irate and determined to go through with it (I would not have wasted my Saturday going to the Police Station otherwise), after my conversation with the officer and his history was revealed which there was nothing of substantial concern, and the facts surrounding his license about to expire and prospect of it most likely not being renewed. The officer had been for a chat with him and he fully understood the seriousness of the situation and accepted his wrong doing and she believed was a genuine shake up. From this she explained it is still going against his record as a formal warning. From this I decided to trust this Officers observation and put it at that.. was it the right decision?? I hope so..

No there wasn't. I am only sharing my experience with how a Public complaint process works.

Haha probably..

Had an incident, on the way to the airport, stopped at the traffic lights, both lanes going straight ahead (I was in the left lane) lights turned green, and the Ford Taurus next to me revved himself to hell buggery and slammed into drive with a very amusing 1/2 second screech of a tyre (may have been something else breaking on the car which I may have mistaken for a wheel screech). Laughed my way across the intersection only to have to slam the brakes on and swerve off the road to avoid having a Taurus take the side of my car off. He went back into his lane and I continued on only to have the same thing happen again, slammed the brakes on and swerved to the side again. This time I thought stuff this, and went past him and headed into the terminal where there would be lots of people around as I had no idea who was in the other car (couldn't think of many enemies I have made who would drive a Taurus). Pulled over and the crazy old grey haired goat flipped me the bird as he drove past. Kind of stunned I decided to follow him from a distance into the carpark and watched him stumble out of his car, called *555 and the lady took all the details, while on the phone to her, he came back from in the terminal with the guy he had just collected, so I approached him and asked him if he realised he had twice run me off the road... He flew into a fit of rage "I had every intention of ramming you off the road, unfortunately I missed both times. I don't like your kind". His friend realising that I was on the phone quickly silenced him and put him in the car. Asked the passenger if the guy had been drinking and if it was safe for him to be riding in a car with him.. "how dare you.. accuse him of drinking.. he doesnt drink" jumped in the car and they drove away. Still on the phone to comms, she was as dumb founded as I was with his response and asked if she had heard correctly.. umm i think so.. he intentionally tried to ram me off the road several times?? She asked me to lay a formal complaint at the nearest police station as there was enough evidence in the recording with his admission to convict him of dangerous driving. About a month later I hear from the police who basically couldnt be bothered investigating it, if it goes to court it will be your word against his and basically nothing can be done, I directed them to listen to the *555 recording where he clearly stated his intention to run me off the road several times. Anyhow a few weeks after that another phone call asking which direction I would like to take the case, had a good chat to the officer and she gave a bit of history on the guy who was due to have his license expire in the next few months (due to his age) and it would be up for renewal, from his history it was unlikely he would pass the tests. He had been spoken to and was fully aware of the situation and evidence against him and was pretty shaken up about it. At the end of the day it was my call to go through with the complaint and have the poor old coot charged with dangerous driving at the end of his otherwise pretty minor driving history. I chose to let it go, he has been warned and this will remain on his record as a warning. I still do not know what caused him to take exception to me or what "kind" I was, the first time I was anywhere near him was stopped at the traffic lights next him revving his motor. Prior to that I was about 4 cars behind.

Unsure of dimensions.. what dimensions are you wanting exactly... , its out in the shed at Marty's not sure when I'll be out there next. The auto isn't horrendous, in fact its great for towing but I want a manual..
-
Im dropping my spare engine and bellhousing into an engineer next week to have it welded to the front of a Getrag from a V8. otherwise the real deal 6spds do come up every now and then, be prepared to spend in excess of $8k from our calculations to go genuine manual.

Has been a blast this summer.. best thing I did was go to the Wharehose and bought a $30 rod and real combo (complete with Graham Sinclairs photocopied autograph) loaded it up with 15pound braid and went to work.. So far 4 kingi's (of a total 9 landed on the boat between the 4 of us that day), and countless ocean kahawai. The drag is as tight as the pos reel will go and i'm sure i could see it smoking with a couple of them. I bait it up in anticipation of getting that one that will finally Smash the DirtyDollar into a million pieces. I just want it to DIE and then I will go and buy another $30 rod and reel combo from the Whorehouse. I noticed on the last outing a kind of fibreglass cracking sound when the rod is almost bent back around on itself. My brothers hate me with their zillion dollar rod and reels that dont catch fish...

Never.. you should fix your steering issues first before you try to go faster
