  1. Stupid car.. decided to pay a random visit to the dyno man on the way home from work today, Not having any intention of doing such things when I left for work this morning. One of those impulse things you do.. ooooh lets go to the dyno.. gave the man some money and said make it make loud loud noises.. Im not sure if I'm happy or unhappy now.. she has done over 300000km.. I had a figure in my head that I would have been happy with.. didn't quite make that figure, but still respectable given its age. Things can only get better from here I suppose.. I have made some purchases this past month which are sitting on the shelf waiting for me to be able to get some time to carry on with stage 2. stage 3 is trying to jump forward aswell but that has to stay on hold till stage 2 is completed. Anyhow decided to do a base run today with exactly how it is and how it has been driving for the past few months. She is getting more and more addictive. I have now set some performance goals inside my head, which I must achieve in stage 3... and before anyone asks the numbers from todays run are somewhere between 100-250kW and 200-300hp
  2. The Tractor is cheaper and has a real gear box.. We could give the windscreen a name.. which forum user has been 'touched' by lots of other members on here? We will have to detour through Tauranga???
  3. I am in Parnell (easy access to motorway) if you want to drop it in here. Pass the parcell..
  4. Hi all, After reading Tastic's post on offers to jump on his band wagon to share the load on shipping costs from Pelican Parts, and thinking I don't want or need anything.. Well now I've decided I need lots of things. If you want anything I will be placing my order Monday evening. Shipping will be split proportional to your items. Let me know by 9pm Monday (tomorrow). Will be getting delivered to work in Parnell, so pickup from there or home in Manurewa. May be able drop off on the way home if you live some where handy. Order is now full..
  5. woohoo I did a skid cheers guys..
  6. To those who disagree with the infant/stroller carparks.. would you rather them park next to your car in a normal sized car park and have to swing their doors wide open into the side of your car to be able to get their children in and out of their car seats? I think they need more parent car parks and special super narrow car parks designated for BMW's only.. since most owners seem to climb out their windows as to not dare touch the car next to them. If the car parks are small, I tend to park as close as I can to the car on my drivers side so when I get out, I can do so carefully (I usually place my hand on the bump strip if it is real tight) and I like to think it minimizes the chances of my passenger side getting dented when the driver beside gets into their car. The best case of car park rage I have experienced was in the South City carpark in Chch in my Bedford Van. Pulled in and the car on my passenger side put their door into the side of me.. Comment from the twat "lucky your vans a piece of sh*t".. bad thoughts went through my head.. its my peice of sh*t not yours.. so I walked round and oh oops my peice of sh*t swinging side door lost some more paint on the side of his car.. comment to twat "Lucky my vans a peice of sh*t".. said twat got back in and moved car parks.. **I'm an alcohol baby and proud - dissapointed my mum didn't do drugs**
  7. ITS GOT BIRD POO ON THE BACK WINDOW HAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
  8. Ugly colour.. needs 6 more cylinders.. some leather.. and a schnitzer kit.. I'd slum it in that if it came with those options.. At least it has the right nostrils.
  9. Maybe.. hopefully I will have some more cooling sorted by then.. I have to track the slush box at least once before it comes out..
  10. These guys are based in Blenheim but have a huge range of things for car restoration.. have a hunt through their site or send them an enquiry Basis website
  11. You've got yourself a good buy there April.. if he doesnt give you the good bye.. good luck..
  12. In Tardeme's Listing Policies That is a NO NO.. "Listings fees and success fees are to be paid by the seller. You may not add these fees or other fees onto the winning bid amount."
  13. Haha hush Marty.. he was a friendly 'giant' of a man.. I could not replicate the rubbing of the arches after the guard rolling.. maybe the twisting and pulling from the "beaching" helped.. I have to thank some people too.. I would first of all like to thank God himself.. for keeping Marty from killing me for taking over the shed.. Then theres Marty.. for *shrugs shoulders*.. burning me with the welder.. convincing me that 5 months of my life was well worth sacrificing.. abusing me everytime I removed a part from the perfectly good 750iL, shaking every bottle of beer I went to open, getting me to learn how to syphon gas (just because im a maori doesnt mean its natural instinct), 5 months of black jokes, ahh has been bliss.. Nup your awesome Marty. Then in no particular order, Marty's wife, Brent, Adrian, Glenn and finally the crazy lady that walks past Marty's house everyday with the beach umbrella singing (screeching like a run over cat). She reminded me that there is always someone just as crazy out there in the world.
  14. HAHAHA DORK! Honestly I don't know how you got that much done in the last 3 days. We literally pulled a turbo out of a 180sx on Sunday night to donate, so you could plumb up your exhaust and wastegate to get you through the certing today because yours is on a boat in the amazon somewhere, only to find it was of no use to you. Last night you arrive home at 8?? with a "reconditioned" turbo from your turbo guy to tie you over until the real one arrives, comments of praise from the Cert guy for the intricate fabrication that had been put into the exhaust system. Cert man will be back next week Marty ... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! and where are the other pics?? there are much better ones
  15. I wish I could use it as a daily.. but sadly no.. I will use it for a few weeks to get a feel for it and to iron out any kinks that have not been noticed yet.. plan to venture up to Opononi on Queens Birthday weekend so that will be the final test that makes me happy..
  16. ALMOST LEGAL!!! Woohooo certifier came out to visit today. Quite a nervous couple of hours. The emissions test was a bit scary with his probes and stuff. But she passed with a steady 13.5:1. Two minor things pointed out which were fixed half an hour after he left.. 1. Needed a radiatior shroud.. picked one up this afternoon. 2. Right rear wheel rub.. had to trim 5mm off the inside of the schnitzer kit and rolled the inner lip on the guard slightly for good measure. The certifier was happy to sign it off. Now waiting for the Cert plate to arrive. As I want to drive it I took it through for a WOF this afternoon just to make sure everything is up to the legal safety requirements. Flew through its warrant all signed off and passed with the tester going to get the sticker.. UNTILL one of the other warrant guys came over to have a nosey. Had a good chat to him and was trying to get away as he obviously had some knowledge of the E34's. The sticker man came back to check the VIN #, popped the bonnet and the other guy went hrmmmmmm, thats not right.. wheres your cert plate.. DOH!! So I have a WOF sheet with a pass, but no WOF sticker until my cert plate arrives which he says will take 5-7 working days.. How can a week seem so far away.. Its like the night before christmas when I was little.
  17. I saw that in Takanini yesterday morning..
  18. Thats an E32.. E34's are even better
  19. Most likely the sensor hasnt been replaced when the brake pads were changed.. they should be pretty cheap
  20. Step 1: get the BIGGEST hammer you can find... Step 2: Go to James' car Step 3: Stand on the roof of his car Step 4: Swing hammer as hard as you can into his windscreen whilst jumping and screaming as loud as you can.. Step 5: walk calmly back to your car. Step 6: get a screwdriver and on the top corners of the shroud you will find some round plastic clips (number 2 in the diagram below). these clips are expanded by a plastic pin through the middle of them.. On the radiator side of these clips place a screwdriver (flathead) and lever gently to press the pins out enough to be able to grip them with a pair of long nose pliers from the engine side of the clip. Remove the pin and then the clip should come out also. then manouvre the shroud up out of the enging bay.. Alternatively wait for James to come home. grab his car keys. lure him outside.. run back inside and lock the door.. tell him to fix it.
  21. Hah no we dont like launching.. launching breaks things.. broked things is money.. money is better spent on non broked things.. like more expensive things that can break.. I do hope i learn really quickly that if you push the right foot pedal to the floor it makes loud noises and loud noises mean.. RAAAAAAAAAAAR.. the whole getting to 100km/h really quickly is addictive.. I will have to do a Puke trackday at least once.. and then ban myself from driving it.. I banned myself from buying a 540i untill I was 28.. I have kept true to my word.. I havnt bought one yet.. I blame EVERYTHING on Marty.. he is a bad influence..
  22. Yeah I wouldnt mind going to have a chat to mr Barrie about how he tackled a few issues I ran into.. But I am certain his budget was a lot higher than mine was... So far my budget has been blown by $180... that includes the addition of this strange thing that makes both my rear wheels leave black marks on the ground.. Traction control doesnt work.. booohoooo... I will persist and make it work..
  23. Its getting there Nick... bit annoyed about having to drill holes in my floor for some stupid bolts for a stupid driveshaft hoop.. but rules are rules.. Mark Stokes (certifier) was saying they are trying to get it changed so if you are not using a rubber guibo, you wont need a driveshaft hoop... but not sure when/if that will happen.. Bring on the 26th..
  24. Thanks Darryl, let me know when you want the e23 converted
