It IS hotttt Marty.. Im surprised you didnt take it for your 540i. You can buy it back when I get my touring.

So.. It began.. 10 years ago when I bought my very first E34 (525i m20b25), Dreams of a V12 crammed into the engine bay went through my head everytime I tinkered on my little m20. Many years and many E34's later something bad happened. It started a few months ago with a quick drive around the block in Marty's newly aquired 750iL.. Quick it was for a boat which was almost the length of a bus.. I wonder how it would go in an E34.. The dreams continued.. Then a whole weekend test drive of the boat occured.. even towing a real boat with the boat.. yes, yes overtaking in the boat with the boat was a breeze, indicate, foot to the floor and off she goes. Ok I think I want to buy it now. Hey MAAAARRTY when can I start pulling the engine out?? oh and btw can I buy your old E34 off you aswell?? Pretty much 3 days later and many Gourmet Butter Chicken pie burps later, the engine was sitting on the floor in the shed blocking Marty's way. That was the easy bit. Many nights have since been spent out in the shed. Looking.. undoing things, more looking.. undoing more things.. looking some more.. undoing even more things.. one final look.. hrmm drilling brackets off.. welding brackets on.. drilling brackets off some more.. welding more brackets on.. unthreading looms, threading new looms.. and more looking. Time to put the motor in.. I wonder if it will fit?? oh well one way to see.. 20 minutes later the gearbox cross member bolts were tightened. Well that was a few weeks ago. Since I have pulled the entire interior out almost to change the heater unit as there was only about 5mm clearance at the back of the head for the heater hose to connect. So I swapped the heater units across from the E32 to the E34. Everything is going swell just at a very slow pace.. lots of time consuming little fiddly bits connecting everything back up in the engine bay. Then I will start putting the interior back together.. and wire the back half of the car to the new front half of the car. So many extra wires for all the E32 accesories. Anyhow I hope to have it certed and driving in 3 weeks time so I may add a few more pics here and there but the majority of the build is complete. Stage 2 will be starting late in the year which will see the engine replaced again with some bells and whistles and hopefully a gearbox to suit, and a general cleanup.

I met your wife in the carpark at work.. BM540 is very tidy.. I will have a nosey at her one when she drives it to work.
-
More importantly... what is the ground clearance and will it also make the "leap of faith" aka the jump of death... An Alfa made a distance of approx 4 metres or maybe it was 2 with airborne height of about half a meter... Do you allow test drives? Are you thinking what I'm think Marty? And seriously how much do you want?

This has got to be the best one. Minus the stretched nostrils... they make the e34 look like a Nigerian scam artist.. Tis got an un natural engine in it that one does...
-
Replace it with an M30B35
-
Pity its an auto. I wonder what the difference in economy would be between the auto's and manual
-
My best time beat his best time.. And I would love to try it again.. but next time towing caravans after pulling bits of piano out of the roof
-
but thats not all.. they are good for towing caravans aswell.. and pottering down quaint country lanes watching daisy grazing in the meadow.

Except the land rovers run different compression and injector pumps and turbos. Helps with low end torque to get the things moving.. and the 525tds run different injector pumps and turbo's once again.. Great little cars but hrmmm trying to find parts for them is errrm not so easy.. had to build an alternator into my existing housing using one off a m44 engine I think it was.. couldnt find a replacement and when it is used as a daily it was a little bit of a problem
-
This was for sale last year.. not sure if it sold and this is a different person selling it.. that sticker is awesome.. they are a great money saver..
-
It is none.. you remove the cambelt to do the waterpump. Properly..
-
He said he changed the fuel pump and that they were different, disconnected the lines, and also had the fuel pressure regulator off. So the fuel lines would be my starting point.. then injector pulse i suppose..
-
have you connected the fuel lines the right way around?
-
The kickdown unscrews, there is no need to take the accelerator pedal out to do this. just unscrew the kickdown switch
-
that was lucky... time to check the rest of the fuel lines?? at this rate could start a new section.. Burn outs???
-
And you can only legally tow at 50km/h max on a tow rope now..
-
Its a pity they used the "Stretched Nostril" version of the E34.. yuck yuck yuck... prefacelift is the best of the 5's

As a daily diesel driver, I voted for Petrol.. Only because I think the majority of people are scared of diesels or uneducated.. Slow, sluggish, smokey, rar rar rar.. all of which was left behind in the 90's. Another reason is the RUC which everyone hates.. myself included.. Not so much having to pay RUC.. the amount you have to pay. As has already been said, Commercial/Private, 3 tonne Truck/1400kg private car being charged the same amount I think needs to be addressed, there has been talk about this pricing structure for years but nothing has ever happened.. These are the 2 main reasons why I chose petrol as most people see these as major issues with diesels and run in the opposite direction.. One more is I think people still associate diesels with Isuzu bighorns, Toyota surfs and other suburban tractors.. But I myself, love my wiesel (325tds '93 manual) and will replace it with another diesel when the time comes. Being able to commute from Manurewa to Parnell 5 days a week (270km)and put $30 diesel in my tank a week including all my running around in between. Defnitely not slow, sounds a bit like a tractor on the outside.. Able to tow what ever I want and still overtake up hills. My maths says its a hell of a lot cheaper than putting $120/week into my petrol cars, even when i take into consideration the higher Registration and RUC. And on the other hand.. I love my petrols aswell.. just not for daily driving or towing..

Go on Brent.. get it for Suzanne to cart the kids round and go shopping in
-
You might want to get this sorted before it overheats one time too many and the car would be worthless.. even though you are looking for a new car.. prevention is better than cure.. would hate to see you cook the engine. especially doing the sorts of km's you are driving. you might get stuck a long way from home. might be something as simple as a hose needing to be tightened..
-
I must say.. that is about the only e32 I have ever liked the look of.. A pity mine is/was a pale poo brown.
-
golly have those been swimming in the ocean Brent?

Have the front brakes which include rotors (with minimal wear), calipers, and brake pads that are in them. Have just pulled from a 750il and will not be needed. Direct bolt on to the above models. Rotor size is 302 x 28. We all know what brakes look like so I wont bother posting a pic.. unless someone requests. $240
