I've got some E46 skirts that I will retro-fit onto my project unless someone wants to make my life easy and swap with some E36 skirts OR E30 skirts (mtech2, mtech1, se etc)

You summed it up well; "really need to look at it face up to determine"... If you're seriously interested, take yourself and a mechanic mate and go and check it out! Engine should be replaced if the tappets are loud in general etc, and sunroof panel doesn't affect WOFs, but can also easily be replaced with a good one! (ie: I have 2 good ones).

Ask yourself if you want a plate for your car (ie: will be sold with the car) or one for yourself, that you can put on other cars... Secondly, just because a plate is taken, doesn't mean it's not for sale! Hit the owner up with a call, some would be glad with $500 cash (almost half of a new one these days - and price is rumoured to go higher). Not to mention, you can surf Trade Me and other websites for "used" plates that are for sale.

M// badges were placed on by dealers... not to mention could of been shifted or removed by panel beaters also. The trick is to look at the VIN, they will state whether a car is genuine or not. If you stick a Honda badge on a Merc, does it become a Honda?

I know of other car clubs that do this, but we can do it better (not only due to the content). Would be nice to have the main car + interior, engine shot etc in the corners or whatever + just the model name and maybe owner? Deffinately do-able, and with enough publicity, very viable imo.

Too late now, but I think we should run a 2009 calender of BimmerSport Member's hawt BMWs... we would all vote for the various cars that should be entered, maybe commercial sponsorship of certain months/pages to reduce the cost... Surely in a year we should have some mint E30s finished, and ALOT of other models! Post your opinions (& prehaps Shelly could sponsor with some models!?)...

I highly doubt straight bolt-on, but be cool if it was same length or longer... can anyone confirm real quickly for me? E46 skirts = 1980mm long and 140mm high. THANKS!

I think they put more effort into ensuring the windows remain wound up to stop mud from being flung inside, rather than stray hunter's bullets... as that is the only real threat to our Government, well within the next 3 years of the contract anyway.
