  1. Not many, probably 15,000. Car is a hack but will still do some trips between Akl and Wlg, so want something that won't have me sliding into a bank on the desert road...
  2. If the owner had taken a deep breath and maybe thought for a minute about what they were going to do with a black paintbrush, it would fetch more money. If someone here buys it, they must PROMISE to restore it to correct specification!
  3. Did you end up buying this car? Diesels are super desirable, and this one looks like a very good buy. Would be suprised if it is still on the yard

It's quite embarrising actually! I've hit an all time low and currently am left with my hack, a 99 Ford Mondeo 2.0... Has some type of Ford bodykit and is the "GLX" so i'm told it has desirable extras that the poverty pack models didn't have. It's ok for getting from A to B, but it couldn't pull a buttered stick out of a dogs arse and I have to keep a paper bag in the glove box to put over my head so no one can see me. After the E36 I owned a very nice A4 wagon, which I sold late last year. Have spent a long time looking for something to replace it, but i'm very fussy! Looked at a A6 2.7 Bi-turbo (but discarded it as an orphan), a e39 530i (but too dear), a E320 Avantgarde (horrible import with smoke smells and missing trim). Moving up to Auckland at the end of this week, looking forward to having a few more options to look at! So there you go, a Mondeo owner. Please don't judge me!
  5. Looking at buying a new set of tyres for the hack, a 99 Ford Mondeo 2.0 (yes, horrible I know). Currently has 2x Michelins, 1x Pirelli and 1x Firehawk. Handles horribly in the wet so figure I better replace all four with new matching tyres. Size is 195/60/R15. Not after budget, but something midrange. Looked at some Goodyears for $130 and GT Continentals for $120. Will go and look at Toyo and Bridgestones later on, as I've had good experiences with them in the past. What would you guys recommend? I realise this old slug ain't no performance car, but is it worth paying extra for directionals?

Nice car. I had the same thing (ex-SA 325iA/4), except a 95 in alpine white with white leather, which had done 195kms. It didn't have a spoiler, but had nice 16" M-Sport wheels. I got $5300 for it in May, if that helps as a price guide. These SA cars are so much nicer than the Jap equivalent. Hopefully your potential buyers realise this, alowing you a quick sale. Best of luck
  7. Any dealer that sells Autosure should be able to sell you the warranty even if you didn't buy the car there. They make money on these policies, so I doubt they would be turning away business! Alternatively email Autosure and they should be able to point you in the right direction. The big loophole in these policies is "pre-existing faults." For peace of mind, I would put your car through an inspection as soon as you get the warranty, then you will have on paper any faults and a leg to stand on should the warranty company in the future suggest it was pre-existing
  8. Autosure are great, I have cover on my car with them now. You might pay a couple of hundred dollars more than the other ones (from memory it was $1300 for 3 years), but you get NO EXCESS. Be careful with excesses, as they can sometimes sting you multiple times. A mate had cover with another company and needed a coil on his Subaru replaced. To find out which one is gone (from my understanding) is a process of elimination. They tried to charge him $150 excess per coil!
  9. Mine arrived yesterday. Very very impressed with the quality and detailing of the model. Also came in a individual model box and included a nicely made perspex display case and base. In the box was the book on art cars too. Tempted to order another! Tossing up between the Ken Done E30 M3 or the Andy Warhol M1...
  10. Yes, seeing them in the flesh would have been awesome. Gutted I was stuck in Dunedin at the time... I'm guessing all the doors etc open, well I hope so! Shipping in the NI was $5, SI $10
  11. Looks like a nice, clean NZ-new car. I love that leather!!!! Enjoy
  12. A mate of mine put me onto this.... On The Deal (www.thedeal.co.nz) you can buy Art Car die-casts, which from the look of it are ex-BMW NZ stock at 50% off ($249 down to $125). I saw these at Cooke Howlison BMW about a year ago, quality looked really good. Was going to order one off eBay, but they were all $99USD plus $50USD shipping... Looked like a bargain, so have just ordered myself a Lichenstein CSL - will hopefully make a nice paper weight on my desk!
  13. Why? It doesn't affect you. It's sad to see tall poppy syndrome alive and kicking in NZ!
  14. Well, don't buy them off him then! Good on him for thinking outside the square! I can feel a bit of resentment from people on here who are kicking themselves because they didn't think of it first...
  15. A rare find? ex-SA 318is 5 speed sedan Looks like it will be high spec, and I luurve that SA white leather. Will this car have the Z3 1900cc twin cam from the 96 on 318is coupe or just the standard 1800cc? The "is" got me thinking it could be the "good" engine, but someone could have just done the old badge swap... Would look at it, but am stuck at the other end of the country!
  16. Are these genuine BMW or knock-offs?
  17. Why not put your money where your mouth is (so to speak) and put the car on TradeMe at $1 Reserve? If anyone offers you $2.5k or more for it, take the money and run

    E34 535 manual

Horrid. Why desicrate a car like that with horrible black spray paint???
  19. Was cranking my 1985 Live Aid DVD the other night - awesome! Why are there no real entertainers out there any more? The crowd went mental when Freddie Mercury stepped out
  20. Looking at transporting some 17" wheels and tyres from Hamilton to Dunedin. The TradeMe auction closes soon and they seem to be a very good buy. Seller is not answering questions re shipping prices. WHo have you used in the past? What is your guess for a rough price? Ta - Jeremy

    Netball WC

Hmmm... they all seem very plain to me! It's not exactly beach volleyball...
  22. Hope there is someone here who can answer this question... I have heaps of concert DVD's and want to "rip" the tracks from them into MP3 format, so I can copy them onto CD and listen to them in the car. I know this is possible to do, but have no idea how to? Is there any (free) software I can download for this? Thanks in advance - Jeremy
  23. It does make me laugh looking at all the idiots who have nothing better to do than give a seller sh*t though the Q&A function. It also never ceases to amaze me how many people who comment on spelling or grammar can't spell or construct sentences properly themselves! If you don't intend to buy something, why waste everyone's time by asking stupid questions?

    Netball WC

NZ Sport is a joke at the moment. It makes me laugh how many people thought we could win the big four this year (cricket, yachting, rugby, netball).
