Be wary of ex-Singapore / Hong Kong M3's. I don't know why, but I have heard of a couple which are in NZ started life as LHD.

Looks nice. Had to run last night and missed out on it going through auction...

Sold for $1050 + success fee Not a bad buy for someone to use as a parts car...

Chassis number FA70491 Vehicle code CB32 Series E36 Model 325i Body type saloon Catalog model ECE Production date 1991 / 02 Engine M50 Transmission Manual Steering Right Catalyzer YES Surely the trans alone is worth $1k?

91 325i manual, at Turners AKL tonight. Lapsed reg, but no reserve... I wonder if it is an E30 or E36 Is anyone going? Could be a steal. Turners link

Beige?? In an M-Sport?? WTF??

Fantastic car. I think these are a great buy. Supply is limited as the Jap's hate diesel cars and there weren't that many sold new in NZ. Me thinks that with fuel prices going the way they are, a 330d would be an astute purchase. Will likely hold its value a lot better than its petrol equivalent. The 330cd 6 speed manual would be a very cool car. Shame they were never sold here new!

I remember someone on here about a year ago pointed me in the direction of Billy T James clips on YouTube, resulting in hours of laughter. Was showing a mate the other night, and discovered the guy who uploaded them all has just posted some more... Billy T James Clips Hopefully something to brighten up your Monday morning...

US Legislation required energy absorbing bumpers. Other "pretty" Euros of the time (like a MB SL) looked shocking too
-
Very nice... Love how front and rear ashtrays are a main focus in the equipment section! Shame about the fugly US spec bumpers though.

How can shorting be illegal? The Securities Markets Act wasn't even in force then, and creating a contract to sell now and buy later is not illegal anyway...

If you goto www.ebay.com, enter the auction number, all the ebay stuff will come up in English, like this , however the text is still German...

Re-trimming the leather does make a huge difference on E30's

A general hobby of mine is watching the used car market, in particular Euros. E65 7's have come back dramatically in the last couple of months. For someone with around $40k to spend, you are getting a lot of car. Also with the age and mileage (if less than 120k), you can get no excess mechanical breakdown insurance which means you can drive it like a new car and if anything breaks, you won't have to pay for it. Why anyone would buy a new Commonwhore over one of these is beyond me... '02 NZ New 745i 84kms $41k '02 NZ New 745i 142kms $31k '02 Import 735i 97kms $37k '02 Import 735i 75km $36k '03 Import 745i 52kms $46k Why are there so many for sale at the moment, at what seems like very good value? I could see imports going very cheap due to issues with Jap iDrive / Nav etc, but local examples are priced very similarly...

Sharechat.co.nz can sometimes be useful

You only need one eBay account which is universal. I have bought things from the US, England, Australia and Hong Kong using the same username. What exactly are you trying to ask the guy?

It's sad as I expected more from someone like you. You cannot look at all occupations in isolation. Sure you may be able to fix the power when it goes out, but you are one tiny person doing one tiny job in a massive system. Like it or not, lawyers, accountants and a plethora of other people are involved in the way you do your job and how your role is peformed. We live in a market economy. If a job wasn't "important", it wouldn't exist. While you can debate over and over which occupation is more important than the other, it won't acheive anything. Again, it's sad to hear this sort of opinion. The engineers I know are smart, well reasoned and evaluate all the facts at hand before making a decision or voicing an opinion. I guess there is an exception to every rule...
-
So how do electrical engineers add value in a way that two very important professions can't?
-
You didn't answer the lawyer question. Like an electrical engineer, we fix problems and charge people for our time.

I guess you could wait for the "right" buyer, or lower your price for a quick sale. Sadly I think the kms will scare most people off. I would much rather drive a NZ new car with 200k, than a jappa with 120k - but sadly the majority of the population don't think like that. I find the Turners car auctions best price guarantee search tool a good way of working out what cars are worth. In your case I would compare a car of similar year and mileage, but add 10-15% being NZ with FSH. On that note, a mate of mine bought a very nice 97 NZ 528iSE in barritz blue with tan leather, 140kms for $6.5k late last year.

You are painting with very broad strokes there Cain. Have you worked for either KPMG or PWC? Also, what do find so wrong with lawyers? On that note, may I ask what you do for a living?
-
It doesn't seem that cheap to me. Looks a tad rough throughout...
-
The third one seems like the best option. Why, may I ask, would you bother with driving an old piece of sh*t daily when you have a Touareg and an AMG in the garage? It's like drinking grape juice but having a cellar full of fine pinots.

Sadly, I have heard similar stories. Stick with Page European.
