RRP @ BMW exceeds $800. If it goes above $50, I'll do a bimmersport discount of 10% -
To my knowledge this is the only one in New Zealand! What i would do to have that in my garage! So hot right now. Link

Don't agree at all. The e36 has a 4 star rating. Very low?? Modern Toyota's, say up to '05 have either 4 stars or below. Its a fact that European cars are safer than Jap equivalents.

How wide are the weaves?

If your battery is one of the sealed for life ones it should have a little black circle/hole where you look down to check the status. Green means allgood, orange probably means get it checked and red obviously means get it replaced. I would honestly suggest not to keep jumpstarting it, as its a modern car and it has many very complicated systems. Jump starting many times may damage the electrics. My suggestion would be take it straight into BMW and let them work their magic. The date it was made should be stamped on the top of the positive or negative terminal. When i replaced mine earlier this year when I had the same problems as you mine was still the original battery from '99.

Very interesting story mate. Glad to hear you didn't hurt yourself too bad. To tell you something about the airbags. I was in a major crash on SH1 coming back from Tauranga to Auckland. A stupid old lady pulled out from a turnoff right in front of the car, literally. Had no time or anything, slammed on the brakes, hit the old couple at about 100km/h. Stepped out from the still perfectly in shape cabin, windscreen still intact. Airbags Didn't go off! But the front of the car was smashed, the shock from the impact went down the side of the car and the doors were somewhat out of line, even the boot was. Other car was in the barrier, crumpled beyond recognition, the passengers needed minor medical help, which the bmw first aid kit came in handy for. After that theres no car I feel safer in. I think it must take a extremely big jolt to set off the airbags, was surprised they didn't in my case. Car was written off aswell, E36 sedan. Sh*t happens.

Alex at Carspot, Glenn at Botany Motor Worx are just a couple people who own workshops. Both are members on the forum and will probably comment. BM Workshop in Auckland might be worth an enquiry. Hope that helps mate. Cheers Nick -

Maybe it was too cheap for a reason. Scam?? For an example like that you'd be asking atleast 35k.

Stunning mate! One of the best looking M3's around.
-
I take mine to Jerry Clayton to get a WOF. They are soo much more forgiving and actually appreciate a nice example of a car unlike other places. The guy at VTNZ *Nearly* failed me because in his opinion the front clear corner indicator didn't glow orange bright enough when indicating. WTF??

Gary used to have one. M50 B25 non turbo.

Nice mate. That straight 6 sounds mint!

I believe the way to tell a hi-line apart is the chrome on the bottom of the rub strips compared to on the top for the other models.

+1!

I assume you're talking about the M88/3, cause the M88/1 was used in the M1. The M88/3 was used in the early M635CSI and the E28 M5. Good luck finding a block.

I remember seeing the build of this. And its taken forever, but, its worth it. Lots of pictures in the gallery! Enjoy. Nearly two years ago, in December 2006 we told you about an Australian fella that had just begun transforming a previous generation BMW M5 sedan (E39) into the ultimate V8-powered Ute (see here). Now the proud owner of the Down-Under El-Camino, Stuart Appleby from New South Wales, Australia announced that the BMW M5 Ute project has finally been completed. -Continued While the vehicle has yet to be dyno-tested, the builders are saying that the M5’s tuned 4.9-liter V8 could make as much as 460 HP. Even though the conversion of an M5 into a Ute will certainly seem like sacrilege to many gearheads, we must admit that it is a very well executed one. Read Article
