Firstly I'd just like to know why would you bring back 4 tyres from the USA?? Flying first class are we? I'd have thought the excess baggage payment would have outweighed any savings vs shipping through legitimate channels. That website Matt put up from the UK has by far some of the best pricing I've seen with reasonable shipping rate. Secondly, Glenn and the likes are right ... tyre shops hate people supplying their own tyres - it basically takes all their margins away. Remember it's not just the margins on the tyres itself, but also the overall volume they move. Unless you have a mate that actually owns a tyre shop, then it's a different story. I've found in recent times that if you are a genuine purchaser and you show the local retailers here what you can obtain parts for, they are usually willing to match or come close to what the overseas retailers charge. I've now come to a point that I'd rather support local businesses than having to go through all the hassle of importing. It only takes one bad transaction to really ruin the whole experience. As a result, I've built up quite a good relationship with local parts suppliers and get preferential rates as a result of the businesses I've put through with them - it's a win win for both parties. I get genuine quality parts at majority of times near or better than off shore prices with the added local back up should things turn to custard when it turns up. -
Congrats on the new addition to the family ... and GLWS ... You know there are ISOFIX in the rear seats of the E46 M3 : P

Factory ride height tolerance is usually 10mm to 15mm I am assuming you've made sure you were on completely flat surface when measuring (usual method of measure is from bottom of rim to top of wheel arch) but the e46 body is notoriously inaccurate. The height measure is also done with 68kg weight on both front seats and one 14kg bag in the boot with full tank. 40mm does sound a bit much. I would check both shocks are of the correct part number and the springshave the same colour markings left to right. Perhaps a spring or shock was replaced at some point in time and instead of a motorsport item a standard SE spec suspension was used (or vice versa) Sometimes the swaybar isn't centred to the chassis and can hold one side of the car up (I've seen this on a few cars where the swaybar link was replaced and not aligned). Hope that helps.

Sensible offers considered .... Can help with fitting if you are really stuck on how to fit this.

Not sure who made these ... I was told they were made by KW for the CSL Cup cars, but I can't confirm as these were not an official product I am told. Or they could simply be someone's backyard job. I believe these will work with all E46 chassis. Requires new poly bushes as the ones on there are completely stuffed. Cheap ... $150 take them away: Quite light even though they don't seem to be aluminium.

They don't call it the 4 door Lamborghini for no reason

More like if you can't afford the repayments or depreciation on one then. Personally I wouldn't want to pay for the bill or petrol on one!!! Had a friend that got one brand new and his famous last words were "never again" LOL Also they are a fairly unreliable car ... I've seen a few of those with the engine out and pulled apart for repairs. Not a pretty bill.

14l/100km in the E46 M3 ... man you must be on it all the time!!! I get like 11l/100km in the CSL ... sometimes it even dips down in the 10s .... 17l/100km in the V8 sounds about right ... wait till you take it to the track and physically see the fuel needle move with each lap and run out of fuel before lunch time LOL!!! The E60 M5 is one of those cars that in my opinion the following statement really isn't far from the truth: "If you can't afford it brand new ... then you can't afford to keep it"

Easier to just install BMW ETK on your laptop ... it's windows based anyway and much easier to use than the web based versions.

It's 1190kg (that's 300kg of batteries mind you) full carbon fiber chassis. Personally I think for an electric car BMW got this spot on. http://jalopnik.com/the-bmw-i3-is-officially-much-greener-than-almost-every-1462999376

Have never really rated the V8 M3 very highly ... now I have proof : P

My understanding is it is almost impossible to remove without some sort of fault code showing up about it. The system is very cleverly tied in with O2s, voltages, MAF and the whole DME system. I know some of the folks on the E46 M3 forum have looked into the coding of this and reckons that it can be written out with quite a bit of effort ... but it'd take quite a bit of doing and unless you are a programmer you are sh*t out of luck I am afraid. Also the Evolve SAP delete is apparently just a deletion of reporting the fault ... i.e. the fault is still there, it just doesn't report it, so no CEL lights.

Thanks Jooles : ) If I wasn't running out of room to store spare parts I'd hang this on the wall as an art piece LOL. Functional also ... wind tunnel tested to reduce front end axle lift by over 80% at 200km/h (not that there's huge amount of a front axle lift at all on the E46 M3 .. but still impressive when considered in % terms LOL)

Back up for sale.

Still have this ... LOL

Just so potential purchasers aren't taking a stab in the dark as to how much these costs ... race components are sold individually not as a kit set - so the listing price includes the dampers only, nothing else ... you add solid mounts on top, different spring rates, keeper springs, bump stops ect .... A rough kit like this with one single set of spring set is around about 3600+euros + shipping + tax. When you buy individual shocks each damper is roughly NZ$1300 shipped.

bump price drop $1800 firm.

Back up .. definitely for sale now as the car is retired from track work period.
