If only this happened in America ... Just thinking, if the vehicle has never been in an accident before and you can show that it has been maintained properly, might even be worth while contacting BMW AG about it? Given the sort of scrutiny that car companies get now days since Toyota saga .... That is if your Insurance won't cover it.

I'd say that would be a write off to be honest ...
  3. That's the ebay one that you can get for about US$849+US$150 shipping. They are Chinese knock offs of the real thing. Apparently they work quite well from what I have been told. If I read that auction correctly it doesn't include the IBM T30 laptop which can set you back another US$350 to get (and most of these chinese copies only work on the T30 for one reason or another). If you search ebay you'll notice that you can pick up the set up with the HDD loaded but no laptop for about US$450 to US$600 plus shipping. I've been looking at the new version OPS which is fibre-optic and works on the later model cars up to 2009. I do believe the latest bootleg software is DIS V57 and SSSv44. I've only seen about 3 genuine BMW GT1s for sale on the net and they were about US$15,000 to buy with genuine siemen heads ect ect. Glenn any ideas on the new OPS and the knock off versions? Little more expensive to buy, but they now come on an USB based hard drive, so you can use it on any laptop and not just the T30.
  4. Wow .. wasn't expecting so much hate for this model ... I actually really like the car and to be honest it looks better in person than in photos. The front actually looks really good (hints of the new 7 series crossed with the new 5), the side profile is a little bit odd in some places, but overall I think the car fits in quite a nice niche market that will compete with the likes of the VW Golf, Audi A3s and maybe even the Rav4 like vehicles from Jap land. I went to the Team Mc launch and again same format (and looks like the same cat walk models - man these models must be really hung over by now haha), less the X6M and 550GT (now this is what you call ugly, although it does drive rather well - but for the money I'd just get a 7 series and be done with it). Must be a Team Mc customer thing then, all I heard was good praises for the car and I believe they already have a few on the books for delivery too (spotted my first customer car yesterday on the road out East Auckland actually)
  5. Got a call this afternoon .... this CSL is going to the South Island apparently ... sold for $85K+ Came as a surprise to me too, apparently the buyer bought the car unsighted, wanted it straight away and paid for it over the phone and bought it.
  6. I knew I've seen that car some where ... Isn't it against trademe rules to list something that isn't "in transit"?? Also based on my calculation, the listing price is about $10,000 mark up profit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-53-Reg-BMW-M3-C...=item2a055b898e
  7. Spotted yesterday afternoon a genuine left hand drive E30 M3 Sport Evolution in Newmarket - didn't catch the registration though - beautiful looking car.
  8. Okay have had another opportunity to look at this car in light today rather than a dark workshop and it really needs a good tidy up - I've PM'd the prospective purchasers some of my observations about the vehicle. It unfortunately was not as tidy as I originally thought - but would tidy up very nicely given the right attitude and expense. If you want details PM me.
  9. Must be in "perfect" condition - no blemishes on the exhaust tips, hangers and mounting flange. PM me please. Thanks
  10. Done - put a little bit in there to help. My brother survived cancer and a brain stroke ... and fully recovered. He was also lucky to have more than 95% of his medical and surgical bill paid for by the Government (not NZ - the NZ health system is so flawed I don't even know where to begin to criticise) ... But every bit helps. Hope she gets what she needs and soon. All the best.
  11. Is there a donation account rather than just the fund raising auctions?
  12. UPDATE! First off let me be clear, I am only the messenger and have been asked to gather 'real and serious buyers' only. So if you are a dreamer then please don't PM me about this. I just got off the phone with Andrew McMillan of Team McMillan BMW (and for the record my wife no longer works for them so neither myself nor my wife have any pecuniary interest out of this at all) I've simply been contacted because I own a CSL and might have the potential to know of prospective buyers. At the moment they are waiting for confirmation from the finance company on what the deal is - there's a possibility that this will not go to auction and might be sold through Team McMillan. So if you are seriously interested and have the means to afford this car can you please PM me your name and contact details (a phone number will do) and somebody from Team McMillan will be in touch when they have a clearer picture of what is happening. They will even show you the car from what I have been told. Thank you all.
  13. On the new cars they are under the dust boot covers - so you have to lift it to see it (i.e jack up the car and put your hand in there)
  14. Info from one guy on NZhondas "seized by NZ Police Otahuhu Contact THE OFFICIAL ASSIGNEE INSOLVENCY & TRUSTEE SERVICE (PROCEEDS OF CRIME) MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT on 0508-467658 for further advice "
  15. More info on this? Nik (from vask.org.nz) just ran a plate check on one of the CSL that had its rego lapsed a year ago and guess what, it's owned by the NZ Police ... so what's happened with this car do you know? Is this the car you are referring to? I know there was a black E90 M3 that was seized by the NZ police recently either money laundering or drug related ... but have not heard about a CSL being seized - seems to be true though according to motorcheck!
  16. I've been lead to believe the car was part security for a bridging finance deal.
  17. http://www.captaintransporter.co.nz/index.php I've not used their services before, but someone on NZhondas has and said it was good and reasonably priced. There's an online calculator too (but no Hastings listed) $291+GST from Napier if the car is drivable
  18. No problem - like I said, I'll update you when I know more. That is true. I don't know the whole ins and outs about what happened. Just been informed that the finance company picked the car up from the owner's place (still has quite a few of his belongings in the car I might add) and whether I know of anyone that might want to buy it. It won't be on Turner's yet ... I don't even know if it is going to be on there - I was just guessing? Most likely though - doesn't Turners do most of these Repo sells? I just hope it doesn't end up at the Repo car yard that advertises on Trademe all time ... Confirmed - this car is delimited - I just cross checked it with the details I have. And basically the same spec as my car - no Xenon and no PDC.
  19. It's Silver Grey No Xenons and no parking sensors (just like mine - from memory the only other one in the country like mine actually) I'll check to see if it is de-limited - I believe this one is. OEM CD player. No Cup tyres though and the rim has a couple of curb marks, otherwise the body condition is quite tidy (the front bumper could do with a re-alignment from what I can see) - rest of the car is tidy though, no dings or paint scratches. I am waiting to get more info on it also will PM you when I know Doug. Not an Auckland car ... it lived elsewhere and was driven up by the Finance Company Repo team. The owner must be gutted ... I feel for the owner. Would have bought it for the wife, but she said she doesn't want it ... : (
  20. It is pricey I agree ... lots of other decent cars you can get in that price bracket! Still cool looking nonetheless.
  21. Okay ... one got repo'd by the finance company today (not mine of course, that's security free). I believe it will go to auction soon - perhaps Turners? 38,XXXkm NZ new (I believe one or 2 owners) Fairly tidy condition and fully stock standard. You heard it here first!!
  22. I enquired about this from Ford directly a while back and got a 'we won't be bringing this model in reply' Thank goodness for Private imports!! Didn't even know anyone bought one in ... and after talking to the owner, there's apparently a dozen of them in the country!! For about $9X,XXX per car!! WOOT!! Stunning car in person!
  23. I think the people that do the PDI checks get into such a routine that it simply becomes a 'tick the box' exercise. Or should I say ever since PDI was taken back by the dealerships it's been going down hill. BMW NZ really should have kept PDI at the head office with a group of technicians doing just that all day long.
