Link: http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1036630...rformance-m3-gt BMW's M3 has undergone a huge evolution since its birth with the E30 3-series. Growing in size, power and cylinder count, the latest M3 hardly bears any resemblance to its forbears. And soon BMW may push the envelope even further with a new high-performance version of the already extreme car possibly on the way. During the mid-1990s, BMW released a special version of the M3 Coupe called the M3 GT. The cars were essentially a homologation series special built to allow the E36 M3 to compete in the FIA-GT class II, IMSA GT and other international long distance races. These latest spy shots depicting an M3 Coupe packing some race car elements, such as the front bumper with bigger air intakes and the oversized rear wing. This is not a race car, however, as indicated by the Munich registration on the car’s number plate. Back in July, the head of BMW's M Division, Dr. Kay Segler, hinted on a production version of the current M3 GT4, so this could be the first prototypes of that vehicle. The M3 GT4 contested this year's 24 Hour Nurburgring endurance race through BMW's Customer Racing program, and the M Division was previously considering the car for limited production so that more entry-level race teams could use it for competition.

You'd be surprised how much aero is under the E92 M3 ... Personally I think the best looking aftermarket kit out there at the moment is the Vorsteiner GTS3 kit ...
-
It's vinyl wrap .. the original colour of that car is Jerez black. I think it's the angle of the photos, I've actually grown to really like the way the E92 look.

Brand new, never opened or used (but I no longer have the box) - Rogue Engineering polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings. I imported these a while ago but never got around to installing them - have decided to go spherical bearing instead. So these are up for grabs. This harder compound is designed for TRACK applications, where monoball components are not allowed. Less expensive than full Delrin bushings, these bushings are extremely stiff to provide the absolute maximum performance at the TRACK. Purposefully engineered to approximately Shore D 65 hardness. $80 take them (I paid about $120 with shipping - so don't ask for more discounts please) 021 281 0155 (text okay) Fit: All E36, not including Z3 and 318ti All E46, including M3 All Z4

Are you insured? Full cover or 3rd party only? Or uninsured? If so and he has admitted liability and you have full cover or 3rd party with no fault extension then approach your insurance company - they'll sort it out with him - won't even affect his insurance (given that he'll have to pay for it anyway) Otherwise it's up to you as to where you want it repaired (but then it'll be up to you to collect the debt from him)

Installed (I know the colour looks a little different between the steering wheel and the trim, but that's because the steering wheel is a different one to the one pictured above - this is my used 'driving' steering wheel, so it's a bit worn and beaten up)

Cheers for the comments fellas!! In all honesty it took me bloody ages. Alcantara's a pain in the butt to work with. Took me 3 tries as I kept getting glue on the wrong side of the Alcantara : ( Spray on glue was a bit harder to work with than I first thought. The material was imported from overseas ages ago (matches the Alcantara found in the CSL) and I've just had it sitting in the corner of my study. Had a spare set of CSL steering wheel trim lying around that was badly scratched and chipped from a used CSL steering wheel I purchased from overseas to refurbish (that's now in the car) ... this is the spare 'mint' steering wheel that I had in my car originally. I do think it turned out quite good, and looks the part - will get a photo of it in the car shortly!!
-
So I had a spare steering wheel trim that was a bit beat up, so thought I'd give it a bit of DIY treatment ... with genuine Alcantara I imported a while back. Probably not to everyone's liking ... but meh .. I think it looks good

After a rear seat bench/base for an E46 Coupe (NOT SEDAN). I am after this very specific fabric - I believe it's called "Laser/Anthracite" and was available on the non leather "Motorsport" versions of the Coupe. Pictures of the actual fabric below: Please call 021 281 0155 if you know or have any for sale or email me [email protected] Thank you:

LOL .... Well there's not a bit of bog on this car, and I intend on keeping it that way I have this film on my 'other' black car and honestly speaking, it's less noticeable on a dark coloured car (I originally thought it would have been the other way around, but it wasn't .. surprise surprise.) More than happy to show you both cars and you can compare for yourself if you wish - I am based out east Auckland. -

There's a crowd down in Christchurch that offers this service and uses the same product. I'll get their number and PM you next week. Forgot to update here ... but had the car refilmed last Thursday, as good as new now: -
Stunning car - good luck with the sale.

Barely noticeable (especially on a dark coloured car) ... it's also very clear and shiny and you can wax it to protect it. -

Most definitely ... won't deter me from tracking again though. I am always consciously aware of the risks associated with tracking a car, and sometimes it's just one of those things. Good to see the product (film) in action though, really impressed with it. I think I will film the whole car from now on ... be silly not to haha .. -

No dents at all ... nadda ... peel the film off and it's exactly as it was when I got the respray done - brand spanking new. -

Yes definitely huge props to the other driver for thinking quickly and turning the other way onto the grass. He definitely wasn't impressed with me at the time - although when he pulled into the pits he came by and we shook hands and both pretty much brushed the incident off our shoulders - no damage done to his car at least. However, I've had a couple of other say to me at the event that it wasn't really justified for singling me out at the event - I should have been let to pass way before the incident as per the instructions by the instructors. It's all past now. Great day it was regardless!! -

Definitely money well spent!! I think I'll film the whole car next ... well worth doing if you are going to track it. -
Well, was at the bmw "M" driver training day on Wednesday just been. Unfortunately had a little incident on the track with the CSL - won't bother explaining the full story here, although I was singled out as being at fault. In my own defence however I would say I was only partially at fault. The cars were let out at 20 - 25 meter intervals and the instructions were if the car behind you catchs up, then you were suppose to let them pass at the next straight. I caught up to 2 cars within 3 corners and they kept going for 2 laps without letting me pass. My mistake was to dive on the inside at the long end straight trying an outbraking maneuver which didn't pay off and nearly T-boned a brand spanking new E92 M3 (I put the blame on another E46 M3 for blocking myself and the E92 M3 for 2 laps without giving way) - my mistake was to think I could pull the move off with the other driver noticing me. Anyway, it could have been a major accident, but thinking rather his car than mine, I steered the car into a soft barrier and the other driver was also clever enough to head the other direction onto the grass to avoid any sort of a collision .... props to the other driver for sure. So I pull into the pits and look at the damage to the car - major scuff marks on the front bumper, front fender and rear fender .... I wasn't entirely sure at the time if it was just film damage or there was more like dents and scratches ... Anyway, got back home and peeled the paint protection film off and voila ... not a dent or scratch!! I am so very sold on this product right now ... I think I'll film the whole car and hang up my gloves ....... Yeah Right!!! Pictures speak a thousand words (I forgot to take photos before I peeled it off, but you get the idea) The damage: What damage ?? !!!

Thank you!!!!!!!! SORTED!!

Excuse my noobness .. but has the layout changed again? I can't figure out how to get the old layout back (i.e all replies on one single page or couple of pages rather than the bullet point style on the bottom) ... I've searched but can't figure it out ...

Really need one before the 26th Aug. Anyone have one that I can "rent" ... ?? If not willing to sell.

Sure thing - want me to start a separate thread or just tidy up the one I've got above? I've got everything on a spreadsheet at the moment (it was made by Nik from VASK).
