Spotted a Avus Blue E39 M5 being abused on Greenhithe road. The drivers lack of mechanical sympathy was amusing, clutch kicking it around the corner!

Haven't had any experience, but I am interested in the logistics of it as I was looking to do this next year. Please let me know what you find out.

I would recommend a Provident mechanical insurance policy. I've used them and they've been great

Fwiw I deal with customers and end users all over the country and people from the Deep South have to be the most honest and trustworthy people I have ever dealt with. I know it's a generalisation and it won't be true for every individual but it's one drawn from extensive personal experience.

Saw a brand new black m3 driven by an Asian dude today. Looks awesome, rear guards are huge. I actually cried when I saw it 10 mins later at the gas station and he filled it up.... With 91 octane.

2006, I did all the mods within the last 2000ks/6 months, except the navigation/Bluetooth which was done 12 months ago. Brakes have upgraded pads but otherwise standard. They are more than adequate.

Countdown Dreamworks collectors cards. Exchange?

I have 40 of them from the one time I went to the supermarket. Free to a good home. -
Thanks guys It doesn't get driven much, if at all! Looking forward to getting it on the dyno in August to see how much power it's making, it's very quick, I'm thoroughly impressed with the potential easily unlocked from these motors. The torque and response is amazing, but it retains factory drive ability so that you can drive sedately with out compromise.

Did you buy the car to get invited to these extras? Or did you buy the car because it's a good/great/amazing car that's right for you. Not every customer can be taken along. To the OP I don't know your back story, but I wouldn't agree with you idea that being the squeakiest wheel is a good ploy to getting invited to specialist, discretionary events. Especially those with a focus on sales. When selling to a large group, a person perceived to be outspoken could be considered to be at odds with the overall event goals. Certainly not saying that's what you would do, but in my personal experience with running similar customer focused sales events the type of customer is very highly critiqued and analysed before invites are sent out. Hope you get a chance to attend one of the events as you are clearly passionate about the brand and cars.

Yip. I've got some here to be fitted next week, as well as a Wavetrac LSD. I went in stages so I could check the condition of the turbos before doing the exhaust mods.

I ended up going with the cobb option, I have it installed now with a 5" front mount and BMS intake and the gains are really impressive. It's seriously quick now. I had a miss when I first installed the cobb only, but I changed my plugs and walnut cleaned the intake and that sorted it.

Having not been in a new 3 series, is it much larger internally than the E90? Our e91 is still cramped in the back seat (especially legroom)? Love the look of the new M3, and it all sounds good so far, one of the few new cars recently I've actually wanted to buy before seeing it in the flesh. When are they due in NZ?

Genuine or aftermarket considered. What's out there?

07, White Motorsport, 90k with nearly everything, rear blinds, pano roof, keyless entry and start, active steering & headlights, heated seats, I drive, nz nav maps, Bluetooth, inflatable side bolsters on the seats (I love this feature), shadow line, blackline tailights. Should be able to get something for 30k if you hunt, coupes and sedans are a lot cheaper. I've got a Wavetrac, downpipes, cobb accessport, ams cooler, intake and catch can sitting here for when I get bored of the stock setup!

I've got a E91 335i Motorsport and I can't speak highly enough of it. I've had over a hundred previous cars, some considerably more powerful, some considerably more expensive, but the 335i it's quite simply the best all rounder I've had.

Not in my experience.

Straight on... Even with the m3 tyres if your not to low. Ideally you would go a size smaller tyre to keep the rolling radius the same. This is a mate of mines 335i we fitted the e90 m3 wheels too.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-727295452.htm He has changed the rear tyres only.

If the car doesn't have Bluetooth wouldn't it be technically illegal to use the inbuilt phone whilst driving anyway?
-
Thanks Steve, why have you removed yours? I'm also looking at the cobb map as I like the non invasive nature of the installation compared to the JB4. Although the JB4 seems to provide slightly better gains according to the keyboard warriors in the states.

Has anyone here got a 335i with aftermarket downpipes and a stock exhaust that would take me for a ride? I'm looking for a real world example of how loud they are for every day use, yes there's heaps of YouTube videos but they don't really show the increase in cabin noise and under normal loads, Preferably a E91 (in case they reverberate around the open boot area) but I'll take any options. I'm purchasing a few pieces from the states but I don't want to waste $1k if they are going to be to loud for my liking. Jeez I must be getting old. Dan
