  1. It is basically braking at the same time as blipping the throttle to rev-match the engine to the gears/wheels. It allows for smooth down shifts. In the olden days with cars with no syncros - you used to need to double-declutch (people confuse this with heel-toe)
  2. Nah looked at E46 tourings - too small!
  3. E36 gone. E39 back. Except a 98 528i touring this time. Perfect for getting that racecar around. Yes it needs a bodykit, yes it needs lowering - but meeeh that can wait till I'm less tragically poor. Cheers to Alex from Carspot. All that is done so far is tints (35%), DTM Carbons with Dunlop Direzzas, Towbar. Have icelink, black facelift grill and umnizta angle eyes to go in. Black NZ german plates on teh way.
  4. I completely forgot about this (apologies for not getting the footage for you!) Work has been mental. Anyway - it seems like a great idea and i'm sure it will kick off.

    E34 530i

I think 7.5 seconds would be more like it.....

who did it and where are the dyno graphs. You couldn't feel 12hp when driving a car.

    Rock 1000

What they need is The Metal and only play good sh*t.
  11. Seeing as I work in video production - and my gaming requirements is GTR2 and GTL (both of which work in full graphics on the MBP) Gus: It is hard to list - the built in software pwns on Mac. sh*t just works - i.e opening and closing laptop lids - the computer doesn't freak out .Heaps of little things.
  12. I could find about 6 for sale.

    Rock 1000

    the rock is a joke...
  14. I take it you've never fixed a mac then. It is easier. Software support - for what? Millions of people (and increasingly more) use Apple.
  15. But what Glenn means is you don't get a remote + mean software (owns media center) to use while connected to your TV
  16. Ubuntu and Linux in general is still not fit for desktop use. Windows and OS X are far superior. OS X is better at everything BUT file management. Hopefully Leopard will address some issues - MS Office 2008 (Due Mid Jan 08 after nearly a year of delays) will fill lack of good office productivity tools for Mac.
  17. I should point out i'm biased hah Everything is just easy gus (when you get used to the UI) it isn't just a few nifty features. Hardware: Everything is better - fullstop. I'm not going to bother getting technical. Software: OS X has problems - but not as many as Vista. Spotlight is miles ahead of Vista. Things just - work, the magic is in the details. Design: From the glow in the dark keyboard to magnetic power supply. It pwns.
  18. Since when did a MPB cost 7 k either? They top out at 4300
  19. You pay for what you get - and Apples are better - from laptops, to desktops, to server equipment - nothing even comes close. I disagree with Graeme - an iMac or iBook (both which have been recently updated) will more than do what you need them for. Granted they take a bit of getting used to - but things just...work. Which is a nice feature.
