  1. Are you the seller? I've kicked off teh bidding.
  2. Yes you can do anything - No you don't need any modification to fit an M5x crank in (I'm using a 3.2 S50 one) - Obviously you will need custom pistons. I think the 2.7 swap is a waste of time - it barely makes anymore power than the 2.5

    ECU/Wiring

Recommend the R3vlimted.com m5x swap thread.
  4. I'd say so - the metal there is pretty weak and the rear springs are 1000lbs. Sure can - although I haven't found the lack of adjustability a problem. Got the latest photos from Groundsky of my car through jennian at full tit - it rolls bang on to it's full tyre. Agree though on the street you might want to dial some camber out of it.

Cheers for than Conrad - So the hub won't get hot enough to kill the loctite?
  6. A new diff won't get you more power
  7. It's pretty classic how seriously the Americans take it - good to see it is an Aussie stirring it up on there.

So i've got hub studs for my race car - what locktite should I use when I chuck them on in there?
  9. hhahhahaha I love the guys sense of humor - I always wished rangimods.co.nz carried on.
  10. I'd so have that over the E9x M3
  11. Spies have captured what’s being called the BMW X5 ‘M’ prototype. Caught near Munich, these latest shots show strong signs of an upcoming ‘M’ variant X5. From the images you can see revised front fascia with larger intakes to provide cooling air to the engine bay and brakes. This isn’t the first time we’re seeing a BMW X5 ‘M’ prototype. Previously caught in Death Valley, the prototype showed only two exhaust pipes. But this time, when it was caught in Munich, the prototype carried four exhaust tips which is a key M design element. This BMW X5 ‘M’ Prototype is said to carry V10 or a twin-turbo V8 under the hood. Head over to WorldCarFans for the full shots.
  12. While everyone drools over the new 2008 BMW M3, tuner G-POWER is busy revealing it version of the BMW M3 E46 CSL. G-POWER has added the BMW M-Series V10 550 horsepower to the CSL cutting down its 0-62 to time of 4.8 seconds to 4.2. Sweet huh? Well it gets better. This V10 “operation” from G-POWER is available for all BMW models including the new 3-series coupé, Z4, X5 or the new 2008 M3. Not only that, G-POWER is working on a bi-compressor kit for the V10 engine with a targeted performance of approximately 640 horsepower and for those especially power hungry, a possible 750 horsepower. Forget the CSL, we’re dying to see a 640 or 750 horsepower 2008 M3. G-POWER BMW M3 CSL E46 Gallery: Press Release: Spectacular heart transplant * spectacular modification for BMW M3 V10 * 550 hp / 580 Nm / Vmax: 335 km/h * perfectly tailored to higher performance tuned suspension * new SILVERSTONE wheel in 20 Zoll G-POWER, the guarantor of three decades of high-value BMW tuning, once again demonstrates their expertise in the field of motor design modifications. Current modification is for no less a figure than the BMW M3 E46 CSL! It receives a G-POWER revised V10 motor out of the current BMW M-series. With considerably more than 500 hp, the CSL is promised more significantly improved driving performance, yet remains practically unchanged in appearance: a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Heart transplant brings a quantum leap! With the BMW M3 CSL, northern German refiners G-POWER present a further exemplar for BMW series vehicles equipped with V10 motors. First time vehicle presentation was held June 2007 at the Salzburg-Ring in Austria during the M Drivers Club meeting; official partners of G-POWER. The modulation of the larger V10 aggregate to the significantly smaller M3 CSL engine compartment is mastered by G-POWER with flying colours. Directly consequential to the V10 series aggregate from the M5 is a substantial increase in performance alone, yet G-POWER would not be G-POWER if there wasn’t more to be had. Pertaining to engine tuning, G-POWER’s customers benefit from 26 years of collected experience. Balancing this experience, the V10 elicits 550 hp and catapults to an acceleration of guaranteed 580Nm. In contrast to the original six-cylinder in-line engine with 360 hp and 370 Nm, the results are really quite impressive. The remaining facts are no less spectacular. Despite a somewhat higher vehicle total weight of 1550kg, G-POWER with it’s “heart tranplant” sank the power to weight ratio from a good 3,9 kg/hp to a superior 2,7 kg/hp. Instead of 4,8 seconds from 0-100 km/h, G-POWER CSL V10 reached this mark in a breath-taking 4,2 seconds. Even more important in reference to super sports cars, is the speed acceleration to 200 km/h. With 11,6 seconds, the G-POWER CSL V10 leaves all others with scarcely a chance. Often the top speed of this bolide surpasses even those more powerful engines from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen or Maranello, Italy: 335 km/h is a quantum leap versus the 285 of the original M3 CSL! This V10 “operation” from G-POWER is available for the complete palette of the BMW models. Whether the current 3-series coupé, Z4, X5 or new M3, G-POWER rises and meets each challenge. Additionally, G-POWER is already working on a bi-compressor kit for the V10 engine and shall be setting further milestones in the higher divisions of the distinguished BMW refinement segment. The targeted performance of the first level lays by approximately 640 hp and for those especially power hungry, further levels can liberate up to a possible 750 hp . Clearly, for more security even further alterations on the CSL technology are necessary. Based on brute performance, G-POWER took on the suspension as well. Working closely with suspension manufacturer KW automotive, which is very succsessful in racing at Nuerburgring-Nordschleife, the northern Germans compiled an extensivey tested suspension system. It is perfecty adjusted to the car´s power and is suitable for race track and road use as well. Wheel SILVERSTONE for CSL G-POWER equips the otherwise externally unaltered M3 CSL with its newest wheels. G-POWER’s affinity to racing sports is clear to anyone by name alone: SILVERSTONE. The new G-POWER SILVERSTONE DIAMOND wheel is provided a “concave” rim contour design specially developed for the latest BMW vehicle generation but suis older models such as the M3 E46 CSL perfectly as well. With this new, for G-POWER protected design, a pure BMW wheel was generated exclusively adjusted to the BMW brake outlines. Through this optimized spatial relationship, G-POWER improves additional brake ventilation. The special interpretation of multi-spoked design SILVERSTONE rims instantaneously makes the entire wheel unit exceptionally unique! In addition, this wheel already more than satisfies the exacting safety requirements imposed by Bavarian manufacturer’s. They feature BMW stipulated run-flat capabilities in conjunction with approved tires! Furthermore, they are lighter in weight than the BMW factory M–wheels. The reduced unsprung weight has a noticable positive impact on comfort, even in conjunction with ultra low profile tires! The new wheel, with ist striking appearance due to it’s unusual shaped 10-double spoke design, is manufactured in OEM quality. Naturally, they are “made in Germany”! Immediately eye-catching are the extravagant screw fittings that seem to signify a multiple pieced structure. Completely on the contrary though as it’s a one-pieced wheel that through its characteristics, is quite exquisite. The latest G-POWER technique of surface coating SILVERSTONE DIAMOND wheels effectively prevents brake dust and dirt from “baking” onto the wheels. This makes the wheel particularily easy to care for. The silver-graphite-coated spider with its brightly shining “diamond cut” face, creates a fascinating and dynamic effect, blending harmoniously with all BMW exterior colours. Customers acquire a wheel with a classic and stylish appearance. The SILVERSTONE program is available in sizes 18 ” through 21” in widths from 8.5” to 10.5”. Presented here, M3 CSL rolls on SILVERSTONE 21-inch wheels.

Depends if they are sport seats or not.
  14. Common problem is sidetank hoses popping off.. nothing a bit of vacuum hose and some epoxy can't fix...
  15. Would be so tempting with a tow bar...
  16. I put race rubber on to keep my turbo moving in a straight line hah
  17. Firstly, what is your personal perception of BMW? What makes the cars so good? What do you love about them? For me it is about the drive, nothing more nothing less. The little badge doesn't mean anything for me. I love heaps of other marques of cars and have bought others before (2007 Suzuki Swift Sport - and will probably buy the new one when that comes out) Seriously - the cars are good because of the orange glow in later model ones. That's right - the orange glow from the rear-view mirror. It feels like a submarine at DEFCON 2 (to quote Jeremy Clarkson). The 5 series does it best. Secondly, how do you think BMW is regarded New Zealand wide and partcularly by non-BMW owners/drivers? How do you think people in NZ see BMW drivers? Not particularly well - there is still the misconception they are luxury expensive cruisers. I'd hardly call a 3 series luxury. Some of the rich bastard mentality probably pops in - but the average age of cars on this site is 20 years old. Thirdly, what do you think of BMW advertising/marketing? Did it have an effect on your car choice? How do you think they could advertise/market themselves better? In New Zealand it is terrible - I'm not sure who has the contract? DDB or M&C Saatchi from what I last remember. It's pretty forgettable. BMW are lucky in that it has one of the highest rates of brand loyatly - so much so that they should be getting on board and supporting clubs such as this one as most of us will continue to buy BMWs. That should be their marketing strategy. Like has been mentioned - bums in seats sells cars. They need to get that happening - although that is a dealer choice. They could get real on pricing, and re-sale value.
  18. Jealous doesn't really describe it!
  19. If you are considering cutting and re-welding the bellhousing and putting a huge amount of torque through it i'd reconsider. While mine hasn't broken I'm under no illusion I've made the gearbox weaker (the alloy doesn't weld very nicely).
  20. Point of thread? I see more tossers in BMWs doing it than Hondas.
  21. Yeah I require no adjustability in the race car.
  22. Now that Daimler (still named DaimlerChrysler) has divorced Chrysler, is the German giant ready to start dating again? According to an unidentified Mercedes executive who spoke with German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, a partnership with BMW could be in the works. The Mercedes executive told the German Magazine that a partnership with BMW could be a “true marriage made in heaven. Finally, we could cooperate with a company that is only two hours away from us, speaks the same language and has the same target customer.” BMW spokesman declined to comment on the report, however BMW has been talking of possibility of closer relations with Daimler. BMW’s Marketing Chief, Michael Ganal has previously told a German newspaper that BMW wants to strengthen its relationship with rival Mercedes-Benz. “Cooperation is the right approach because it allows both carmakers entrepreneurial freedom,” BMW sales and marketing chief Michael Ganal told Wirtschaftswoche. Daimler CEO, Dieter Zetsche, told analysts last month that Daimler is “cooperating with BMW in hybrids and would welcome other opportunities. But we have no plans at the current time.”
