  1. So while everyone is drooling over the brand new Audi RS6 Avant with 580 horsepower (understating the true figure of 600hp) that will be shown at Frankfurt this week, BMW is busy doing BIGGER and BETTER things. Take a look at these latest spy shots of an extra-evil looking BMW M5 with, what spies say, twin-turbos. According to the photographer who took these pictures, the engine sounded more powerful and larger than the regular M5. If you take a closer look inside the lower intake openings, you’ll notice a vertical flap which redirects the air flow into what looks to be an intercooler for a turbo. Not to mention the extra vents on the top of the bumper indicate something amazingly powerful under that hood. Of course we expect this baby to produce close to 600 horsepower so the Audi RS6 better not get ahead of itself just yet. Head over to WorldCarFans for the full shot.
  2. Earlier this August we brought you spy shots of a black BMW M3 Sedan that was hardly wearing any camouflage. Now, our friends at CarMagazine have caught the latest shots of a silver BMW M3 Sedan around the Nurburgring. It’s been two generations since we’ve seen an M3 Sedan, which was previously cancelled due to its unpopularity. Now BMW is hoping their new style will be enough to get the M3 Sedan to take on the new Mercedes C 63 AMG and the upcoming Audi RS4. You can expect to see the same 4.0 liter V8 engine from the BMW M3 Coupe that produces 420 horsepower. You can expect to see the M3 Sedan at Geneva in 2008. The production version will be priced well above that of the coupes. Spy Shots: BMW M3 Sedan in Silver Gallery:
  3. Just yesterday we showed you part 1 of of BMW’s Teaser Video on the BMW Concept X6. Today, BMW unveiled another video talking with Pierre Leclercq on the exterior design of the Concept X6. Of course the car is still covered in silhouette, but the video does show some quick glimpse. Keep with us to check out the official revealing of the BMW Concept X6 at Frankfurt next week.
  4. Check out the latest from the folks over at Evosport that took the already powerful BMW M5 and gave an additional 60 horses. Evosport added several modifications to the standard V10 engine extracting a total of 560 horsepower. The modifications include a redesigned exhaust system and a reprogrammed engine management chip. Buyers can also add other enhancements like Rotora’s 12-piston caliper brake system, H&R lowering springs and a whole lot of carbon fiber treatments by Vorsteiner. Like the folks over at CarScoop say, “You’ll probably end paying for another M5 in the process.” Click through for the images and the videos. Tuner Cars: BMW M5 by Evosport Gallery:
  5. BMW has allowed, Christopher Edward Bangle, Chief of Design for BMW Group, to give us a closer look at the BMW Concept X6 before it if officially unveiled next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This is the man, who joined BMW in 1992, responsible for design strategy and conception across all BMW’s brands including Mini and Rolls Royce. In other words Chris Edward here is one of the most important men in the world to us.
  6. Watch as Fifth Gear’s Vicki Butler-Henderson tests both the Audi S5 and the BMW 335i. The BMW 335i is powered by a 3.0 liter, inline-6, twin-turbo engine that produces 300 horsepower. The Audi S5, on the other hand, is powered by a 4.2 liter V8 engine that produces 354 horsepower.
  7. Story: Bought it sight unseen on trademe - it looked OK. Got there - guy took my money - I went to see car. It was POS. Started fixing it up for my girlfriend. Girlfriend ends up getting job near where I work so we commute in (no need for E28). Spent all the money because I'm generally an impulse buyer. But yes - could be good for your E21. Car is by far a driver - like I said needs a few things for WOF and DEF needs a wheel alignment as I've put in heaps of new steering parts + tie rods so wheels aren't straight. Will take 1k for it - let me know shortly (before I pop it on trademe)
  8. I find all of that stuff hard to believe (because I know it's not true)
  9. Not quite true re the exhaust on a 323i The 323i is a better car (in terms of driveaablity) over a 325i. It has more torque in the right place. 328i is significantly better again. 320i is so much slower than the 323i and 328i it isn't worth bothering (don't let anyone tell you otherwise) I drive a 323i and it does everything i need (including towing a 1500 kg trailer with racecar + parts + 3 passengers) happily. It's probably worse on gas than a 328 and the gearbox tends to suck on all of them (323s)

    Cheap E30 parts

Hi - The new owner of Ruby has had an accident in her. If anyone wants a manual 318 (prefl) with full sport interior, newish bilstien sport shocks, decent bottle caps and tyres call Ems 021 190 4529 Has to be soon or car is going to crusher.
  11. If you offer a K the whole lot is yours. Will not part it.
  12. Anyone actually want this? No time wasters this time please.
  13. To clear things up - a stock 325 sees roughly 130 hp on a dyno - I'm expecting 100 hp more with my setup. There is no way a 2.7 would whack out 210 at the wheels. But no body DOES the head job (it's a couple of grand of work by itself, and makes all the difference.)
  14. So i assume you are guessing engine horsepowers. The english mags all appear to be totally wrong when "guessing" in their 2.7 articles. Those gains are unrealistic. I have yet to see one that actually makes that power (because people never do the required work to the head). Best ones I've seen are the Alpina 2.7s - and they make about 10 - 13 more kW than a good cond 2.5. The different between 2.5 and 2.7 on the road or racetrack is so negligible it isn't worth doing. I'm only hoping to get 230 ish (170 kw) at the wheels with a 3.1 ltr and heeaaapsss of headwork + hardcore exhaust + intake with a link ECU.

    Quick Questions

huge myth. Perhaps that people leave the SI lights for ages and the car needs a service badly and then starts to idle badly.
  17. The Sport Maxx is a much stronger tyre - and would probably perform better on the 7.
  18. BMW announced today the availability of Google local search for Germany. For the first time ever, you can use Google Maps to look lfor local information anywhere Germany. “When you find what you want, the details are transferred to the navigation system and car phone at the touch of a button. The system identifies the location and destination of the vehicle automatically and displays the results in the vicinity with details of address, phone number and distance.” By the way that new feature Mercedes announced today with the “Send to Car” option, Google and BMW have been offering the function for transferring search results from the Google Maps website directly to the car for some time now. Step it up Mercedes. BMW Google Local Search Gallery: BMW Google Local Search Video:
  19. Don’t buy that brand new 3-Series sedan just yet! E90Post has posted spy shots of the facelifted BMW 3-Series sedan due out in September 2008 as a 2009 model. It seems for the 2009 model the 3-Series sedan will be getting a sportier look. Changes include a revised front bumper that is more angular, a more rounded grille, a more sculptured hood, a sharper side skirt and a revised rear bumper with a different diffuser lip. The front bumper and part of the tail lights are still camoed so expect some changes there as well. Spy Shots: 2009 BMW 3-Series Sedan Facelift Gallery:
