  1. Hi All - I am looking for a new set of moderators. I think I can get away with three. There is nothing wrong with the current set - just it hasn't really been changed in 3 years and some members aren't as active as they used to be. There are some basic requirements - I have to know who you are. - You have to be on Bimmersport a large amount (an hour or two a day in total) I am also looking for contributors - there would be some financial compensation for at least 2 articles (news/technical) per day. It has to be original or non-copyright material. Email/PM me ([email protected]). I call it approx 1 hr work a day (max).
  2. BMW will be adding three new 4×4s to its lineup within the next three years. Of course the first addition will be the much anticipated X6 crossover. That will be followed by the already confirmed BMW X1 and the long rumored Mini’s 4×4 Colorado. Speaking at BMW’s annual press dinner last night, UK managing director Jim O’Donnell confirmed that all 4×4s will hit the markets by 2010. As you already know the X6 will be in dealerships next year. O’Donnell says that the Mini SUV will be ready sometime in 2009. He said that the BMW X1 was still in development phase and may be ready by 2010. O’Donnell also confirmed that BMW will be building the Concept CS as a GT car within the next five years. The production version of the Concept CS will become a new flagship for the BMW brand. The car is expected to fit above the 7-Series in BMW’s lineup powered by V8 and V12 engines. Pricing is expected to come in around £80,000. Besides the BMW will also be adding a PAV, Progressive Activity Sedan, that will arrive in 2012. The car is expected to fit under the 7 and 6-Series and is expected to be built on the 5-Series platform.
  3. Was the $1.4 million Lamborghini Reventon not shooting enough ponies out the V12 for ya? Rest assured, Lambo powertrain engineers are hard at work on the new Murcielago Superveloce (known as SV for short), a lighter version of the Lamborghini Murcielago. Insiders are saying that Lamborghini engineers could fit the Murcielago SV with the 640 horsepower engine from the Reventon but will tune it to boost an additional 40 horses for a total of 680. But this game isn’t just about what you can put into the motor, but what you can take out of the car. So expect to lose anywhere from 220lbs to nearly 300lbs off of what the LP640 currently weighs. No leather panel or sound system component was too sacred. Saving another 5lbs and reducing shift time in half from 0.4s to 0.2s is the latest and greatest E-gear transmission. Look out for this baby sometime in 2008. Looks like it’s time to replace that poster on your wall.
  4. hahah Good to meet you bay guys. You put our crunking efforts to shame. Cheers for living in the bay and having badass roads Doug hah.
  5. The world’s largest premium automaker, BMW, reported that its third-quarter pretax profit fell short of expectations, leading to shares falling sharply. Before tax earnings rose 6.3 percent to 765 million euros ($1.11 billion), missing the average estimate of 913 million euros from a Reuters poll of analysts. Shares of BMW fell more than 4 percent, performing worst than other European automakers. “The main reason for the weaker than expected result appears to be found in the ‘Other & Consolidation’ line. This is usually heavily impacted by one-offs and is very difficult to estimate,” Tim Schuldt told Reuters. Investors have been criticizing BMW CEO Reithofer’s vision as unambitious, despite his recent plans to increase automobile retail to 1.8 million units by 2012. Speaking to the press, Reithofer recently said, “As far as retail volume is concerned, we intend not only to remain the world’s leading premium provider in the automotive industry. By 2020, we want to lead all of the segments in which we are active,” said Reithofer. Reithofer said that BMW’s main goal is to increase automobile retail to more than two million units by 2020.

    Mystery Illness

Sounds like a classic case of Glandular fever - enjoy it for the rest of your life (seriously). Share any drinks or hook up with any of your co-workers? I still get those symptoms even though I had it years ago. It can be tested for with throat swaps/blood tests - I'm sure you doctor will work it out.

    2002Tii Race Car

A great wee '02 - good luck with the sale.
  11. It's pretty obvious how a car has been treated by the PO. I hate the Jatco gearbox - and for that reason will probably never buy another Jap import that has one.

    Left vs Right

    Tricked? It's damn good fun.
  13. Nah - was wondering how it is done with the air suspension.
  14. I thought it was an option - are you planning to lower the car at all? Thread moved
  15. A reader over at Jalopnik spotted this BMW X6 test mule driving on Pacific Coast Highway 1 in California. The pictures were taken while the both the reader and the X6 were in motion so quality is a bit jeopardized, but we’re a sucker for these things. When the production version hits dealers in mid-2008, expect engine sizes to be similar to the BMW X5 with a 3.0 liter petrol and diesel, as well as a 4.8 liter V8 355 horsepower range topper. The car will go into production next year at BMW’s Spartanburg, South Carolina plant. Most of what you see here in the concept will be carried over to the production model next year. 19. On behalf of Chris/Jake The Muss/McLovin " To Jonathan Begley & Mike Begley. I apologise for having an opinion on your car, I did not mean to put across the message that you car is a peice of crap, It isnt, and any E30 owner would more than likely applaud you on the fact that you own a pristine example of what very few decent E30's there are left. I am sorry for any heartache or bother I have caused you by stating my opinions. I wish you good luck in selling your car and after all was only trying to help others out in what can be, for some, a really big decision, that is buying a car. I hope you have a good christmas and new year, no hard feelings guys! Cheers Chris"
