    BMW Headers

Hey, i'm too interested on them. I have an E39 530i and also have handy access to a dyno which we can test the exact power gains if you are interested. Will you just have the headers, or are you intending to create it right down to the CAT ?
  2. 1/ i don't know about servicing in auckland, but servicing down here in dunedin is reasonably cheap. 2/ parts are actually everywhere, so second hand parts are cheap. 3/ when i had mine my mileage was around 60L for 400-500kms. never heard of 65L for 800km unless pure highway driving. 4/ if well looked after they can go to 300k no problems. 5/ just check out the service history and possibly ask one of the auckland guys to help check out a few cars with you, i'm sure they are more than willing to help.
  3. Do you think the Umnitza Predator OE high output is really much brighter than the factory ? Could you take some comparision photos? and email them to aliluya@ihug.co.nz please. Thanks, i'm also considering those lights.
  4. If you are going to do the angel eye etc, i would probably recommend that you go for a 530, or any post 2001 face lift version. you can pick up some fairly decent E39 facelifts for reasonable money.
  5. It costed $250 here in dunedin to get my skirt front and rear bumper colour coded.
  6. The buyer is not making contact so it is again both up for sale. Buyer can have both for $200 inc shipping. They are just lying around gathering dust can't be bothered taking them out.
  7. let me re-phrase that. We got the automatic because someone can't drive MANUAL. and by family it was meant as anyone in our 'family' could drive it. I was a little vague in the last post. How much are the headers gonna cost you, and what sort of return do you expect from them? Also where are they coming from?

    My E39 530i

It is a blitz mesh design, and you can get it from most japanese performance shops.
  9. hahah, there is no third pedal!! It was designed as a family car.
  10. Heh, i was quite lucky to have the sports suspension from factory. It handles quite a bit better than the standard suspension.
  11. Thanks, i might just go for the 400D camera then. What makes the 400D camera so much more expensive? The main differences i could see are: Digic II vs Digic III increased FPS Is digic III much better ?? Also which of the 3 speedlites is good bang for buck? what are the main difference between the 580EX II and 580EX ? Or is the 220EX good enough? I currently own a Sony speedlite for the R1 (HVLF32X), do you think that would work on the canon camera?
  12. I too also went for the 530 instead of the 520 and 540. 520 just didn't quite feel right for a big family car. As for the 540 when test driven just seem to guzzle gas a little too much than i wanted. And i am also getting only around 450km purely city driving. I do admit i am a little heavy footed. However on the motorway going to christchurch and back i can easily get around 700km per tank.
  13. When i eqnuired a while ago thats what they said also.
  14. Thanks for your quick replies. The reason i am going with canon is because i have used many many canon products and have been very happy with the quality of their cameras. The second reason i choose canon is because i will be purchasing it direct from distributor. which ends up quite a bit cheaper than retail, this include lenses and all accessories. I have thought a lot about Nikon, but in the end going Canon will save me a bit of dollars. I will be doing a lot of everyday shooting, moving items, landscape photos, cars, very close ups eg butterflies. and a lot of photos of the baby thats growing very very fast. I would give some examples of what i shoot, but i have recently lost my entire 4 years of photo collection which really pissed me off. Thanks
  15. What are your opinions on the Canon EOS 400D vs EOS 40D?? Do you guys think it's worth going for the 40D over the 400D? Currently have an Sony R1 that i want to get rid off and get a SLR camera. And what variation of lenses do you guys recommend having in a kit? i was thinking a 25-135, 80, 70-300, 15-55(comes with camera), 50ishmm macro. Is this a reasonable enough kit to have or do you guys think some are not essential or is there a couple other lenses worth having instead? Thanks heaps for you answers.

    E30 Photoshoot

What was the licence plate number? I may remember.
  18. Yeah i know, i had bi-xenon's in my last car. And it was great, but in the E39 the high beams are crappy halogen bulbs that seems to point tooo low, or is only focusing in one point, it's pretty crap anyway.
  19. i'm running the Sport Maxx on 235/35/19 and i love then, they handle nicely and are also good in the wet !
  20. Hey just wondering, does the high beams have their own adjusters also? I have the facelift E39 and the low beams are perfectly fine but i find the high beams to be pretty CRAP. Any way i can improve this? Would installing HID in the high beams be a good idea? I'm not talking about the fact that they are illegal, but performance, upside and downsides. Also how are those Philips 50% brighter/further bulbs at repco? On special at the moment for $50 instead of $85. Thanks
  21. I would too like know where to get Recaro stuff in New Zealand, as i'm looking at their range of Recaro baby/toddler seats.

    My E39 530i

Yeah that was the original plan, I should really make a cover for the amp and crossovers on the side but never really got around to it.

    My E39 530i

Yes it is, there is actually another amp that powers the sub thats hiding under the panel at rises up at the back. MRV-1501. The side amp powers the 2sets of 3way components in the car. And it still manages to fit a pram in there ! hehe..
