hi need some help , just finished reading the post on Tyre wear WTF posted 20th Feb it didn't help me much. Have some rears all most with warning strips showing. will need to replace with the colder months coming. Have michelin's on the back and yokohama on the front. the yoko's are bloody noisy on smooth surfaces but will do a turn on the rear if had too. what I'm looking for is something that will get me about 75k's or is this a pipe dream with the type of tyres required for an E39. does any one have a comment on Barum Continental ranger of tyre as a guy has some for sale along with a set of 17"mag wheels for about two grand( is that a resanable price for a full set of mags and what appear to be new tyres)

found a set of twin tips both are 65mm dia which is the same as my tail pipe, held them up in place they don't look to out of place. will post some pic's as it develops also it comes in either a Race or sport's version the sports one is described as being more mellow in tone, no dB rates given

thanks guys for the imo's on the tips 3pedals 8Jx17H2 rims, running 235/45R17 Michelin's on the rear and Yokohama's on front, noisy on smooth road surface Hybrid thanks balance reply I like mye36 what with the de- badge look as turbo mentioned it also Turbopolo its a 645Ci rear end to every body else thanks for your input. Had a play with the help of a computer and a program called paint managed to get an idea of the various lay outs and what they would look like. the de- badge not sure makes the rear look bare, still out on that one. had trouble with the balance of the second set of twins on the Quad set up but it gave me a better idea of what it looked like cheers thanks guys

sorry to hear about your WOF trouble, 1)what station did you take it to so we in the area my steer clear of them. prates 2) who did the wheels and susp work and how long ago, was it mayhem pro?, because they seem to have coarsed you some may hem mate. if it wasn't to long ago or still under warranty give them a blast. Try to get the spacers fitted for nothing as a fix it for their stuff up. As they should know the regs for that type of mode work and keep with in the 100mm height spec. How does that saying in blue of yours go, good luck in getting your wof.

hi sorry to hear about your mishap and then get an ear full from the La $5%??? well you did have your tow bar. But 25-30 k's that a reasonable amount of impact force, most pumper impact areas are about 5-10(correct me if wrong on that) is their any more damage than appears in your photo's as the top part of the bumper doesn't look to hot. hope the repair job goes well for you and you have your ride back on the road asp. eye in the rear mirror for fat ugle women drives ha ha ha!!

hi entscheidend that is great thanks for explaining what these items obc/ mid are. i am interested in all manner of things to do with cars and what people are trying to achieve with them. it does not matter if it is an e30 e36 e39 or what ever but if you can not under stand what is being discussed because of the abbrevations used how is one to know. but by asking questions is that not what this froum is all about. the sharing of knowledge. have had a look at the article on the pelican site and found it to be very interesting and detailed. At the end of it all what benifit is it for the vehicle and the owner concerned?

Katalyst it is bent & twisted on one of the flexible arms.A small locator pin has sheared off this guides the arm as it locks in the close positon.this gets the whole thing jammed up solid. Silverfox thanks for the customs tip on under $400. what is it for over that figure do you know?. Will thats nice. hybrid thanks more info please. Skt174 Please tell me who in NZ has wrecked a e39. Denny Crane do they really have the same design, oh poor buggers, what make and model of toy? Yes i understand NZ is only a small market but are we still not entitled to a far crack of the wipe in regard to pricing no matter what the item may be. we do it with our dairy products on the world scene. the mass influx of imported cars saw that market sharpen its prices why not the spare parts area also.

hi had the misfortune to put the front cup holder out of commission on my e39. took it out and had a fiddle put no go. what a piece of crap it has to be the worsed designed, flimsy bit of shittt i have ever seen. getting side tracked here. At the b.....m....w... dealer and was told $164.00 please, it stayed their, tried bmwarhouse Ham and got $162.00 plus frieght or their about.Went on the net and low and be hold got the genuine part for US$39.95 plus $7.50 frieght. that in NZ dollars is around $67.80 add 12.5% gst $8.47 and customs ( not sure what it will be ) that come's in at around $76 to $80.00. Unless i have missed something how can they(bmw dealer) sleep straight in bed at night charging those prices 100% markup. Is this common with all things bmw.

When all said and done a car's price is set by what you as a buyer is prepared to pay for it.
