  1. Well first got one from a 2002 Astra then the u joint was a bit gritty so got another one from a vectra wagon not sure what year. I must say its a nice looking shaft...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Seen it on a few uk forums. Never clicked that vauxhall = opel = Holden till I was walking round pick a part pulling out every linkage I came across haha...duh. Spline on rack side is almost the same except for a 'master spline' which I just hacked down with the dremel. And for the steering column side of the linkage I separated the e30 u joint and put it on the Holden one as it didn't have splines Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Holden Astra steering shaft + a $30 pipe bender, rack is ready to go
  4. Pickup in Greenlane $40 wheel $60 stock springs from 325i coupe
  5. Not sure on k's but in good condition 7852955242/11416090 $150 Pickup in Greenlane
  6. I been figuring out all the hoses atm, am going to use this e46 hose for the rack to fluid reservoir, other hose think ill bend up the e30 one. Am I able to/is it worthwhile using the e46 oil cooler bit, or should I just flag it and go straight to the reservoir? Does it even work with the e30 pump..? Was just going to mount it underneath the radiator.
  7. It's m20 2.5 factory headers. M50 has bigger mounts I believe. I've put two 3mm square washers on each side now it clears by about 3mm as opposed to 1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah I think thats gonna be easiest option as far as I can tell, probably like 5mm would give a comfortable gap. That wont give the driveshaft alignment too much stress will it?
  9. So mounts look fine , slight lean on them but nothing much, my cars only done ~70000miles so kinda to be expected. Does any one know the factory width spec? doubt they have shrivelled much by looking at them - one side is only about 2mm lower than the other
  10. Above, below makes even worse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The e30 U-joint doesn't even clear the headers, it actually hits the pipes :/ like so... Either my motor mounts just fully suck and are sagging big time or something is out possibly out of line (subframe..?). Dunno, what to do, I'm hoping my poly mounts coming in the mail are going so solve my problems
  12. 1988 coupe standard m20b25 motor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes I will keep the plastic bit on and was planning on trimming . That's not really my problem though, clearance is. Might try get one of those vauxhaul corsa linkages as they look smaller Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. RIght, yeah thats basically where mine does too (wit the plastic sleeve off)
  15. Oh so the bottom of the plastic is flush with the rib bit on the rack?
  16. Ok so here it is with and without the plastic cover on, still look too long..?
  17. It's from a 330ci. Purple tag ending in 067. It normally has a plastic cover on it which I temporarily removed for test fitting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Swapped my e46 rack in tonight. Clearance between the headers and steering knuckle isn't good..about 2mm or so, that's using an e36 u joint. The e30 knuckle actually doesn't even clear it...Anyone else run into this? I'm gonna get some AKG poly motor mounts which will hopefully lift the engine a bit and give some more clearance?
  19. Hmm not overly sure, anyone able to assist? I guess length might determine, I know they are shorter than e46 ones so how long are they?
  20. Have some e46 outer tie rods I don't need, I actually need e36 outers, so if anyone has some available or wants to swap or buy these let me know
  21. Sick ride! Would you sell wheels separate?
  22. Hmm. Anyone have a club sport one for me??
  23. Not sure if this clears anything up, both are the same height, but the one at the back has a different shaft connection. Thats the e46? one.. Also found more numbers lol, 1 095 016 on the bottom of one, quick google shows e46 m3?? And the other has 1 137 481...e36 m3?? Both also seem to be roughly 3.5 turns lock to lock by just turning the spline by hand So confused
  24. Incase my eyes are deceiving me...
  25. Hey guys, the guy I bought my car off gave me two steering racks with it as he was planning to swap at some point. He told me one was an e36 m3 evo one but I been racking google for the part number and all I can find is one's from an E46 of some sort and the other an E36 318... Not sure if anyone can shed some light but would appreciate if they could. These are the part numbers: First one (e46?): ZF 7852 974 491 BMW 1 096 908 Second one (e36?): ZF 7852 955 242 BMW 1 141 609 0
