For the uninitiated, what is "comfort access"?
-
Hi everyone, apologies for the thread necromancy (figured it was better than creating a new thread for the same topic). I've the problem described above viz. the red airbag light is on permanently. I've connected to my E46 320d using various of INPA but am unable to communicate with anything other the engine and transmission control modules. Accordingly, I purchased a B800 SRS scan / reset off of TardMe which seemed to work. The fault code displayed is: Table 10, 01 - "firing circuit, driver airbag, Stage 1 There are no further SRS codes displayed however given that the seat belt fastened light illuminates on key position II but is extinguished on IGN, regardless of whether the seat belt is engaged or not. Could this be related? Cheers

As per the title. Currently have pseudo-BMW mats which are thin and slide around all over the place and are irritating. North Auckland location.

I know tyres selection can be quite a subjective issue but what seems to be the "go to" for BMW owners on this site? I'm running "Supercats" (205/55/16) which I'd initially assumed to be a Chinese brand but subsequently I've learned that they're a budget brand of Bridgestone and are (according to the sidewall), made in ROC (Taiwan). Criteria - superior wet weather performance and longevity.

It's been a long time between drinks since I last posted on this forum but have finally realised BMW ownership. @BMTHUG great to chat to, answered all my questions and everything checked out. Smooth transaction, recommended. Cheers.

Unfortunately the car wasn't up to scratch and Glenn helped me dodge a bullet. Thanks again for your advice today :thumb: -

Thanks Paul - I've just got off the phone with him and will see him tomorrow morning. PS: What is this "warn meter" on my profile? Is it because I'm still a new member? I didn't see any mention of it in the rules - just curious -
Hi Bimmersport - long time BMW fan just making my introduction here. I'm originally from South Africa and have been surrounded by BMW's as long as I can remember but funnily enough, have never owned one. That could all change tomorrow though as I'm simply over Mitsubishi ownership. I've had two VR-4s stolen from me in as many years, most recently last Saturday. Every cloud has a silver lining however and tomorrow I am going to have a look at a 2000 E39 BMW 540i Motorsport. Linky: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=427636824 I've been hankering after these cars for a while now and it seems like as good an opportunity as any to immerse myself in the world of BMW. I have conducted some research across a variety of forums and websites about the common faults, recall status, maintenance requirements of these vehicles. Could anyone suggest the name of a reputable BMW expert in the Botany area that could arrange a pre-purchase inspection on this vehicle? I understand that it's probably short notice but I'm heading in from out of town to see if it is as good in the flesh as it is in the pictures. Cheers Ryan
