I might try these guys for the 130 (paint has been punished): http://www.mobilecarspecialists.com/car-detailing.html - and they're honest about the benefits of ceramic coatings.

They come to you and charge less than $100 for ceramic "nano" coating after they've done a cut and polish. Which is the proper price point, not $700.

Looks like for $349 + $89 I can get a cut, polish, detail, wax and ceramic coating. For $440 it's probably worth a punt.

    Anyone used them? Experience?

Redin through their website, it seems like they have quite a bit of experience in the industry. Might give them a go too for the golf

Looks good, I wish it was this easy for the slush boxes (that aren't all the slushy actually).

Can I have your brushed aluminium trim? Me likey.

Haha I'm actually contemplating changing it up to either piano black or the carbon trim. Got too used to it over the last few years

Completely cooked my engine on track, it seized up, likely from oil sloshing around on the corners and running metal-on-metal ?
Plastic cooling system parts are probably all stuffed too, at least some hoses look discoloured.
So anyone with a wreck that has what I need, please let me know.

    Car is a 2010 E92 335i with an N55. Located in Christchurch.

Alternatively if you want to buy a heavily modified E92 335i with a stuffed engine, I might consider a reasonable offer. But probably not :)

Oh man sorry to hear.. Really hope it all works out for you.

If you do decide to part out some of the performance parts however... Let me know ?

Swapped out my paddles to some F series ones, I much prefer the OEM look over the aftermarket paddles I had.

Also fitted a 1M strut brace, no real change in handling, but it looks nicer.

Along with that chucked in an E92 M3 front sway bar, nice subtle change there. Plus while I was down there, noticed my sump gasket is starting to leak, so yay, extra things to fix ?

Tell me more about this paddle swap, are the F series paddles a direct swap? Looks great, would love to do the same with mine

  5. I've had literally 0 issues in almost 3 years of ownership other than the weeping sump which was fixed with a full trans service. It was a good idea to do anyway. Most reliable car I've owned which I really didn't expect when purchasing, coming from a long history of owning performance Japs especially.

I considered the f20 too but just prefer the shape of the e82 more. In the end the DCT was the deciding factor for me after a test drive.

  6. Just got back from a 2 month trip around Europe. Highlight was certainly the south of France. Rented a car and drove along the coast up to Monaco. What an experience, highly highly recommend it. The Amalfi coast was cool too just a bit harder to get around.
