Welcome. Nice looking car - not mad about the colour but the painted door trim looks so good compared to black plastic and the interior looks mint. Any plans to modify in any way? Know what you mean regarding the 2.2L engine. I test drove a few before I bought mine. They're very smooth to drive but a bit slow and steady. I bought a 2.8 which has a bit more grunt and is quick enough for the kind of usage mine gets - it also cruises beautifully on the motorway (though feels like it would be happier cruising at 130-140kmh rather 100!!) but I'm not-so-secretly yearning for an E39 M5!

+1. If it wasn't in Canterbury I'd consider flicking mine off to buy this. Looks in great shape, lots of toys and a nice V8 to boot. I could live with the interior (even though it looks like Michael Jackson's leather jacket in the Thriller video) for the upgrade in performance.

Not the red/black - probably consider dyeing the red. Comfort seats are the business - have them in mine.
-
Specifically, I'm after fully operational (if possible) comfort front seats, rear passenger seats, door cards and centre console and armrest in cream or tan leather. In lieu of that, a decent set of fully operational black front comfort seats could be a go.

Shall we start a separate topic about misuse of grammar? I have a few that I loathe:* Misuse of possessive apostrophes - "Davids car"... It's f*ckin' "David's car!" * General misuse of apostrophes - "your an idiot" NO! "You're an idiot!" * Using the word Pacific when you really mean specific (or even worse pacifically!!). FFS! The Pacific is an Ocean, idiots! There are many, many more. Hijack over (although I have seen some tats with horrendous spelling!).

So do I but less so when a wrong choice impacts on someone else. Also, I reckon I'd prefer our police force were spending their time catching criminals rather than checking the roadworthiness of cars because we let people decide for themselves whether it's safe to put on the road. Completely agree that the cost of these things should be reasonable and commensurate with earnings, etc.

Seems insanely good. Wonder if he wants to swap for a much older black 528i with more kms on the clock? Hmmmm.

+1 Agreed! Yeah... I don't really get the issue. Do those of you that think compulsory third party (not comp cover, just third party) insurance is somehow threatening our civil liberties also object to compulsory vehicle safety testing? We all have to register and warrant our vehicles so there is a record of them and that they are roadworthy. Or do you view compulsory vehicle testing to help prevent injury and death on our roads, as taking away our civil rights too? Third party insurance protects the people you crash into, not you. If you don't care if your vehicle gets wrecked and you get no compensation that's your business but if you wreck mine as well and have no insurance and no money to pay then we've got problems. IMO you should not be on the road if you don't have cover to pay for damage to other people's property that you might cause. I'm not suggesting you're a risk, simply that accidents do happen.

Me too, although it can be a useful way of identifying and avoiding d*ckheads, though.

I wear a suit to all client meetings and you can see the tattoos on my hands and chest if I'm not wearing a tie. Nobody seems to care. In fact, in one particularly tense meeting with a Maori organisation the barriers were broken down when the elderly chairwoman of their board started asking me about the meaning and stories behind my tattoos. I went from being a 'crown' representative to part of the whanau in a matter of minutes and it turned the meeting from a combative session into a really successful one!

Compulsory 3rd party is about protecting other people not you. NZ has ridiculously high mortality rate on the roads per capita for under 25s. Compulsory 3rd party insurance and raising the driving age would help prevent this. Means fewer crazy children driving way-too-fast cars. When I was a kid growing up in the UK the only cars I could afford to insure were under 1.2L with a top speed of around 95kms. I still had an almost fatal crash at 17. Count myself very lucky I wasn't in some Japanese 2L turbo, as I probably wouldn't be here now. In other news, at least there is one less ugly lemon yellow Porsche on our roads.

White E90 (I think? Not to sure what the modern 3 series shapes are) M3 hard-top cabriolet. Young asian guy driving. Jealous... Though not about the colour. Sorry about the sh*te pic - it looks like I was drunk but actually I was just getting into a cab when I noticed it.

I read recently that NZ recently took over from Spain (of all places) as the most heavily tattooed country in the world per capita. Seems surprising there would be so much negative reaction. I'm covered in the things - even a few on my hands, though I haven't gone above my collarbone - and I've never had any negative reactions since emigrating to NZ over 12 years ago. I work with a lot of major international cultural institutions (museums and galleries, etc) where you often find some of the most conservative people on boards and the like, but no one's ever batted an eye... Maybe they're scared! haha

Yep, not the whole cluster. Got dials and needles here: http://onlineshop.wunschtacho.de/ but there are cheaper places around.

Wonder if you can get Mac OSX software? I have successfully managed to remove Windows from my life.

Light came on halfway back to the city from Ray's (HellBM)... GGggrrr!! Probably passenger seat occupancy sensor on the fritz but anyone got a scanner in the city that could check the codes for me?

I think I've got an unused pack of 10 somewhere. I'll check what I paid for them and give you a price.

I've had a crack and it looks okay but unfortunately the car is not really in sharp enough focus. I've sharpened it everything up, cleaned up the bumper and recoloured, etc but nothing you can really do about focus.

Great pic!

That I'd like to see... Incidentally, my little lad (like most 3 1/2 year olds) is obsessed with cars. I'd quite like to take him to some track days. Any recommendations on the most family-friendly events?

Shows how much attention I actually pay to my Twitter account!

Have I just been spammed by BMW or is this because I said the sport seats in the new 320d were too narrow and uncomfortable?

The air fresheners are installed so that the lady of the house can expel the stench of farts and pies after the man of the house has borrowed her car and gone for a hoon.
