  3. Hi all, Anybody know if the M40b18 and the M42b18 share the same oil filer/sump plug? A mate here in Aus with a e30 IS is ordering some parts from Pelican.. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/...2-1-727-300-M67 And I might grab a few if they match? Cheers, Nick
  4. Yea it feels fine but over about 60km you can hear it whine.. I might give that a go or at least mention it to the mechanic. Cheers dude!
  5. Cheers Mark and Glenn. It is appreciated! I am having the mechanic who is giving it a service at the moment take a look at it but I just want to see how much is a fair price. Knowing that they are more money here in Aus! But i'll be back in NZ for a few weeks so trying to keep my options open

    e30 diff

What is a fair price to pay for a nice e30 diff? Don't want a LSD but mine is apparently in need of replacement so I'm trying to get ideas as to how much one is worth.. Not sure on the ratio but it's a 318i 89 M40. Cheers!
  7. Where is the best place to pick these up? I want a whole set.. I know they are cheap on Pelican but shipping is silly just for the clips! Unless somebody in AKL is placing a order? Happy to pay up front. Cheers!
  8. Got mine from Euro-Italian.. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=10481

  12. Hi all, Am looking for a few odd interior parts for a e30. Seatbelt 'female' part. Drivers side. Door handle interior trim. Drivers side. Interior hazzard light switch. Facelift front indicator clears. Facelift side indicators clears. Cheeeers! Nick
  13. Wohoo, the odo is back up and running! The above link plus this.. http://www.odometergears.com/documentation...Replacement.pdf .. is a good way to go about it. Give me a yell if anybody needs a hand!

    iFail

Since my 3GS just gave up after 2.5 years of solid service Ill pick up a 4GS. I used to think of myself as a bit of a geek but love the iphone. Easy to use and good fun when jailbroken. I think enjoy the camera the most and the apps that go with it
  15. Cheers Will! Had that link, its good. Ended up getting the parts from here.. They are in Aus, in QLD.. Able Instrument Service 10-12 Babdoyle St Loganholme 07 3801 1232 http://www.ableinstrument.com/ $57 Aus for reference. Silly for what it is but cheaper than the $200ish quotes I have had to get somebody to do it. Nick
  16. Hey all, Pulled about the e30 cluster and found the source of the odometer not working, small gear has broken. Apparently happens a fair bit. Anybody know the best place to source the gears? I have a VDO unit (different to the MotoMeter ones for reference) and am thinking might as well get the set. There are a few overseas places and some Jaycar fixes but I'm not that sure. Would rather fix it once and so it right. Cheers, Nick
  17. Cheers guys all sorted, new bulbs all round and still giving issues so a bit of a clean did the trick!
  18. Hi all, A issue with the indicator, which was a intermittent niggle seems to be becoming more and more common. It either works perfectly or the following.. Just on the right side, the left works perfectly, the indicator light in the dash clicks at about double rate but none of the actual indicators do. Im no pro when it comes to electronics so am not sure where to start other than the bulbs Cheers! Nick

    New e30!

Hey all, The french love affair is over and Im back behind the wheel of a e30! Another 318i but this is a facelift coupe. Im the second owner, the guy I purchased it off picked it up from the showroom new in 89! So it has been well well looked after. 190km on the clock and pretty tidy. All standard apart from the 15" RGPs which were put on when new. Runs like a champ. Not fast but smooth. And the aircon works well which is good here in Aus! Will clean a few things up and upload some more pics as we go but so bloody happy to be back behind the wheel of a e30
  21. Hey all, Have picked up another e30 over here and has a set of RGPs as below in 15" but I can really see how to pop the centre cap off? I dont want to scratch them up! So stoked be be back behind the wheel of a straight little e30 I know there is a RD tool but there must be something else. Just want to get sorted before I need to pop them off. Cheers!
  22. Nice red e30 318is plate was FDS300 I think? newmarket this afternoon. Nice and original
