Haha hey there. Your car is looking spectacular! Just came back from a two-day rally including 100km of gravel so it was a bit dirty. Cleaner now

M3 TOY really Charl?! Haha nice pics!

Why didn't I get this console sooner, makes so much difference with lower seats! Console by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Also tried my cover over big wang. It kind of works, but looks lol. Cover by Christian Taylor, on Flickr

I recommend waiting a month for the paint to fully cure before putting anything on it (including wax)
-
Depends on size of vehicle mate - see more at http://www.ocdetailing.co.nz/exterior-ceramic-coatings.html Also note these prices do not include detailing preparation (normally a Stage 3 or Stage 4) - see this here: http://www.ocdetailing.co.nz/detailing-packages.html Dropped a client off in MTOY this arvo, should do that more often so much fun.
-
You had it in one mate - my 'alcantara' turned up and it's rubbish quality haha. I'd actually be embarrassed to put up a photo let alone try sell it. To the bin!
-
Hmm ok will see what turns up lol it's not a massively expensive part, and chances are I'll be able to sell it if need be haha In other news, the guys coated MTOY with Gyeon Mohs+ and Phobic today - looking bloody spectacular curing under our lamps MToyGyeon by Christian Taylor, on Flickr

I've finished the cut & polish on MTOY, looking good: 13707584_1101888536524673_7985880867442531520_n by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Next up, full Gyeon Mohs+ coating! Watch this space, should add a whole lot more depth to the paint. Now that I've removed the armrest, the leather handbrake boot is annoying me. I thought I'd found BMW made an alcantara one to match my CSL handbrake handle, so I ordered it a while ago. Clearly I had the wrong part number as a new replacement leather one arrived instead. I've gone aftermarket, same as this one (black alcantara with black stitching): I'm loving this alcantara + carbon fiber interior theme - it's completely changing the look & feel of the car. Because I'm doing 100km of gravel soon I bought some coloured headlight film to protect the lenses. It turn up & I cut and fitted, but it looked so bloody ugly I've taken it straight off again. Also after coating: - Fit new interior kick panels - I've removed old ones, ordered & received new ones and replacement clips. Just need to fit 'em up. - Custom indoor car cover (fitted to spoiler boot). - Replace armrests with alcantara (I've found a place that'll do it but it's really expensive) - I also still haven't fitted the M Short Shift Kit yet (it's been sitting in my garage for 2 years!).

Awesome Keen to see indicators when they're on !

MTOY finally getting some work. I've never cut this car before (only performed a light polish 2 years ago), so I was genuinely keen to see the result. If anything, the paint has gained a bit more depth! 20160721_184822_HDR by Christian Taylor, on Flickr 20160721_185022_HDR by Christian Taylor, on Flickr The interior is looking a bit sad, still waiting for the replacement center console. 20160721_184850_HDR by Christian Taylor, on Flickr

I did a thing, g'bye warning light. Center console has arrived, still waiting on a bracket before I put it in. Have removed armrest console, it's 100% better already. There's another Gumboot Rally coming up soon so I'm starting to theme up. 100kms of gravel in this one!

Keen to see this made into a coffee table!

Here's my armrest console as a comparison - you can see how it gets in the way haha. Expect to have this in the next couple of weeks or so, excited! Recaro2 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Recaro1 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr

Here's a pic of the console. Not my car (clearly, its LHD)
-
Next up for this car is an oem armrest delete center console in schwartz - gets in the way now the seats are quite a lot lower. Also some replacement plastic sill trims, I put a scratch in one getting the old seats out. Big mods here haha
-
Yep, my father owns this one. Good car, well looked after (as you'd expect haha).
-
They are pretty low - which suits me ok being lanky but probably wouldn't suit many others! Pulled the seats out again today and moved rails back an inch on the drivers side - seating position is now absolutely spot on! Thanks again to Atlantiskiwi you rock.
-
Working on getting a new car cover for MTOY at the moment, given I have a big bit of scaffolding over the back the current cover just won't do. I've partnered up with Covercraft to supply premium indoor covers to NZ, check out www.nzcarcovers.com (disclaimer it points to my website haha). Will post pics when it arrives.

Went for a drive, new seats are awesome. Nice and snug without being full-on race seats. Would recommend. IMG_60961 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr

Not fussed about street cred - this car barely sees the street ..! Besides, I've just installed all that lovely carbon fiber in the car - it'd be a waste to start removing trim. That said, the weight savings from replacing the seats is comprehensive. The Recaro's are so much lighter - rails and mounts included!
-
It's quite strange sitting on the floor haha - they're a lot lower than standard seats. That's the point I guess. Heaps more supportive than the oems too - mine didn't have the electronic side bolsters, so that might make a difference.
-
Recaro seats are in! Huge thanks to atlantiskiwi for his help. The seat rails took a fair amount of 'massaging' with a dremel to fit. NZKW straight bolt on ... Need to bolt up properly but we're 90% of the way there. Seats1 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Seats2 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr
