1x 25mm M-tech II sway bar with brand new genuine BMW group 25mm bushings. Note this is only suited to non m-tech I and II 535i and 540i models. Factory manual 540i also had this sway bar fitted standard. Excellent cond. no rust. $75 1x 14mm rear sway bar. Standard 6 cylinder e39 models (no m-tech I or II) came fitted with a 13mm rear sway bar. Excellent cond. no rust. $25 2x Genuine AC Schnitzer front lowering springs. Note that these will only fit v8 cars, including the M5. See pic of my red e39 in this thread to get an idea of how much of a drop they give http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=43905 Excellent cond. no rust. $85 2x genuine E39 rear springs, unsure of which model they came out of, they look to be from a m-tech I car. These should fit any E39 sedan that doesn't have M-tech II rear shocks, or has edc. $20 2x genuine e39 540i M-tech II rear springs. I have verified that the part numbers on these springs are from the car I describe. Note that they are also the same springs found in the rear of an M5. (Note that there are different spring rates based on the axle weight of the car) These springs will only suit an E39 that has either M-tech II/M5 rear shocks, or after market shocks that have the same lower spring perch to shock lower bolt distance as the M-tech II/M5 shocks. They will RAISE the rear of your vehicle otherwise. Excellent cond. No rust. Nike shoes not included ;-) $65

I have a set of 4 18" BBS RK II rims that I am keen to swap with for a set of staggered 17" style 32 rims. Specs of Rims and Tyres : BBS RKII 18x8.5 ET13 Tyres front : Falken FK452 225/40/ZR18 Tyres rear : Falken FK452 255/35/ZR18 Tyres have approx. 50% wear. Wear is even. The Rims do have some minor scratches which i can photograph for interested swappers. The Rims i'm after must be staggered (17x8, 17x9) Style 32 specificly for e39 fitment. With good branded tyres, not China rubbish. Tread wear must be warrantable, and even. BBS RK rims on my e39 : Style 32's im after :

There is some good info on m5board.com in regards to testing the MAF's by means of measuring how many litres per hour the car consumes through out the rev range. You can obtain this reading via the secret OBD menu, i think its in one of the first few tests. If you decide to get new maf's don't go for the vw substitue, not only do u need a special hard to find tool to remove the unit from it's housing, but it will degrade performance. I went down this road in my 540i ( m62tu uses same MAF as the m5) After replacing the substitute vw maf unit with a Bosch one, there was a noticable improvement in response and low down torque, the 540i would now plod along doing 60km/h up a hill with full torque converter lock-up doing about 1100rpm :-) where as before it would change up a gear. If you have the patience, read through this : http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e5...-mafs-work.html

It just needs some camber plates installed and it will be fully-hella-gay.

The e39 M5 has 18" wheels. Be careful with running wider rear rims, as they may not clear the inner wheel liners.

Checked STANCEWORKS at work and found this

Nice photography! -
Probably the Serious Crash Unit trying to working out what caused this mess.

afaik e39 v8 front struts won't fit e39 6 cylinder models.

While you're looking in to the sunroof, It would pay to check the cassette casing for potential leaking.. If you are able to slide the roof back completeley, detach the piece of metal which springs upwards upon the sunroof sliding back, just before the front sunroof corner drains, you should be able to see a seam which should have some sealant in it. If there are signs of the sealant coming loose or some of it's gone, then this will eventually let water in to the car! I came accross this problem on the weekend. i will post up some pics on the forum with a how to (just waiting for the silicone to dry, and to confirm that my solution has fixed the leaks)

Remove the 2 rear mufflers, and replace with 2.75" pipe. Opens up the V8 burble niceley. You shouldnt fail a wof either - i've been through about 8 so far.

In my experience, a 330i auto will keep up with a 540i auto up until about 4th gear...

What a bargain!

I had my Windshield replaced about 2 years ago, with an aftermarket one. The car has the rain sensor, and it has developed bubbles, which makes the auto rain wipe mode work incorrectly. This was an insurance claim with AMI. I have arranged to have the windshield replaced, as it is a manufacturing default. I've also asked that the replacement be an OEM windshield, as the aftermarket ones are just plain crap, you can also see ripples when you look out of the windshield to the left and right sides. Hopefully AMI will approve the replacement to be an OEM.

Love it!

Boxer Rear-Wheel drive Zenith I think..

The grill still makes it look like it has a Boxers nose looking at it from certain angles.

As per the title, will fit v8 cars only. See the pics in the posts below for an idea of how low the car sits. Car pictured is my e39 540i with koni sport adjustables in the front, and standard rear shocks. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=38201&hl= http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=17336&hl= The springs are in excellent condition. They are genuine AC Schnitzer springs, i will provide part numbers and pics if required. $350 Cheers, Martin

Are you using the kick down function? pushing your foot down far/hard enough activates the kick down button. My 540i does this as well.

As above, id double check by smelling/looking in detail at the oil leak where you describe, sounds alot like power steering fluid leakage.

Thought i'd update this thread with some of my research efforts. BMW springs do indeed have part numbers afterall, after cleaning the springs i bought, i noticed some faint numbers on the bottom coil. I put some paint stripper over the area, and cleaned off the paint. The part numbers are engraved in to the steel. Using the WebETK and a chassis number i got off a 2001 540im sport, i looked up the spring table. Knowing that there are several spring part numbers front and rear, based on an individual cars axle weight, the part numbers go up or down in sequential order. The front springs I bought happened to match the part number (the last half of the full bmw part number that Webetk shows is engraved in to the spring) The rears were off by one number. That's close enough for me to confirm the springs I got were indeed of an 01 540i m -sport. New springs and shocks going in next week! :-)

Have just returned from a trip from Europe. I went to the Nurburgring (BMW ring-taxi) Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW Museums including the BMW Munich plant tour. Will post some pics up at some stage.
