  1. BreakMyWindow

    BBS RC090 x 4

My old ones? Curbed already? lol
  2. Cheers Matt! :-) :-) Decisions, decisions.. looks like it needs the msport front and rear bumpers now...
  3. Recently acquired a set of 18x8.5 BBS RK's for the 540i I'm toying with the idea of painting them black, what do you guys reckon? Are there any photoshoppers out there with skill levels at the power of awesome be able to show me a pic of them in black?
  4. Can anyone confirm that the face-lifted (colour coded) impact strips on the front bumper, fit the pre-facelift bumper? This is for the e39 5-series. Thanks! :-)
  5. No bumper support included. In fair condition - needs paint work, as well as some attention to the driver side carrier (bit that clips on to the fender) Comes with pre-cut out holes for the cold weather/winter package (washer jets for the headlights). Trims included as per the pic. Pickup in AKL only. $50
  6. Will post pics up shortly. Made of fibre-glass, excellent condition and unused. Identical to lips found on these e39's : http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showt....php?p=17770199 $120 Pickup in AKL only, the lip is unpainted.
  7. I had this issue on my 540i late last year (m62tub44) Ialready replaced the battery in 2009. It turns out that the battery terminals need a clean. I used some water and baking soda along with an old electric tootbrush head to scrub them up. never had the issue since.
  8. Have had a few stones wedged in between the disc and backing plate over the years with my e39's. I usually just give the backing a plate a smack on it's backside with my hand and it seems to loosen the offending stone.
  9. In the rear I currently have eibach lowering springs installed to standard sachs shocks. The car is a non msport so does not have the msport sachs shocks, or msport top strut mounts. I plan to replace the rear shocks with bilstein sports (the ones designed for lowered setups) as they're naffed, and am wondering if its better to fit the msport strut mounts, or the standard ones. Any Ideas? Also with bump stops, they look to be the same for non msport and mpsort suspension cars, will i need to get them trimmed? In the rear, the car sits approx 1 inch lower than standard non msport car height if that helps. Cheers.
  10. Just got the 540 back, very happy with the work. Highly recommend these guys. Good price too!
  11. Have mine in there for some paint work atm, will let you know.
  12. Have had mine in since 2009 and they are approx. 30,000kms old. And they need replacing already. I suppose bumpy roads are around the central AKL area and koni suspension don't help things. Any one else had a good run of their x5 thrust arm bushings? Or is it best to just go back to the standard bushes. Cheers.
  13. If the rear lower ball joints are worn, then the control arms, subframe bushes, shocks are probably not far away, they will affect the handling/comfort just as badly. It's best to get all these items replaced in one hit. As for the worn upper front control arm, i'd definatley do them in pairs.
  14. Sounds like it's in need of some TLC - Avoid this example unless you're good with DIY repairs.
  15. This should have been the vr4 that got wrapped around a palm tree as seen on SCU a coupel of weeks back..
  16. Leatherique is pretty good stuff. I used them on my e39 and the seats came up near on new. Works really well if the leather is pretty rigid from age and sun damage. You can get it from autogeek.net It's about $100 delivered and it should let u do the front and rear seats a few times.
  17. Any one end up going and getting a bargain?
  18. Sorry that was a typo, they are indeed 17x8 all round.
  19. In the next week or 2 I will have available a set of 4 said rims along with mint condition dunlop direzza dz101 tyres. 235/45/17 on all 4 corners. Rims are 17x8 in height and width. The wheels have been straightened and had the curbs removed by mac-weld over in Drury, and are currently in the process of being re-finished (barrels stripped, and polished) The wheels nuts are also being re-finished. So you will essentialy get a set of 4 non-curbed polished style 5 wheels. The offset it +20mm and I believe are very well suited to the e36, but are also very nice on an 39, e34, or e28. Hub bore is the e39's unusual size of 74.1mm but this can be overcome by using hub centric ring adapters. The link below is a pic of the wheels on my e39 prior to them being re-finished. I'm selling these wheels because I have recently purchased a set of BBS RK's in 18" Wheels can be sold seperately with out the tyres, as i know the stance fan's like to stretch 205 - 215 width tyres on these rims. If you're genuinely interested in buying these rims, please PM me. I will sell the wheels and tyres together for $1350. Just the rims for $1250. http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=72979 Cheers, Martin P.S pics of the refinished rims will be up as soon as they are ready.
