Nope, wont need to, i have pulled the sensors out because Troy and I converted my car to Motronic 1.3. Everything worked out well, but the gearbox ecu doesnt like talking to the engine ecu, so my auto is now in limp mode, hense why i am hurrying up converting it to manual.

Hey guys, Im converting my 1986 325i (date 10/85 ) to manual next weekend. It has the "sport" auto gearbox in it at the moment and I don't know if I am going to have to get a different starter motor or not. The gearbox I am putting into it is supposively out of a prefacelift 320i but it doesnt have the sensors on the bellhousing in it so im guessing its actually out of a facelift. It says 240.0.0130.90 on the inside of the bellhousing so i guess its a Getrag 240, and the flywheel is single mass. All i really want to know is if my original starter motor is going to be compatable with the single mass flywheel? Thanks for your help guys.

Converting my 325i to a manual, got all the stuff out of a 320i other than the drive shaft. I have been told only a 320i manual shaft will fit into my car because the 320i manual gearbox i am going to use is a different length than the 325i manual ones. Does anyone have one??? Thanks.

Hey mate, Thanks for all your insite man, you have been very helpful. It looks as if i would be digging myself a big hole if i get a facelift gearbox such as that one on trademe. I think i just have to wait it out until a prefacelift comes up for sale. And that's fine with me. Cheers.

The guy on trademe must has the model wrong, because he says "to answer your question there is no sensor in this gearbox bellhousing" and it reckons it's a 1990 323i..

I asked him and he said he believe it did come off a facelift. Are you sure they didn't make 323 facelifts? Cheers man!

The thing i find it funny is most of the riced up Honda accords and integras and civic with big mags and all the crap on them have totally farked engines! They have "vteced out of the carpark" so many times there rings are totally shot and they smoke like a train. Most of the done up Hondas around here in Tauranga smoke to the days!

Hey guys! I signed up a while back but havent really been on or posted much. I have been a member of the Kiwibiker thread for a long time and posted quite a bit on there, but i have finally turned to the dark side and bought a car so yea, here i am here! I just bought my first bmw ( actually second but thats because i had a e28 i owned for a week lol ) and just got it home tonight. It's an E30 coupe 325i but its a auto, but all good for now. I live in Tauranga and go to the BOP Polytech and would be keen to go on cruises and all that stuff. Hope to meet a some dudes down here with old bimmers as well. Cheers guys, Mark
