  1. ha, cool, i was thinking of doing it to my bike as well ( i used to have a FZR400 ) like 3 months ago, but i always thought it was just a car thing, so i kept it normal... i have really only seen it on muscle cars before, and speedway cars pic of bike =)
  2. Yeah i guess it would look a bit on the piss with 4 different brands! Next time i do it, im gonna take wayy longer, because it certainly aint perfect. And i wont use a paint brush
  3. haha yea and NASCAR rocks. I got the idea from my mate, he just did the same thing on his Camaro
  4. Got bored this morning so i got the paint out to see what i could do to make my car stand out a bit more, i wasnt expecting it to be perfect, but im pretty happy with the outcome. ( Im talking about the tyres by the way ) Up close, looks a little rough, but from a couple of meters away it looks the piece, i reckon. Anyone else done simular?
  5. hahaha quite amusing. But i cant say i would know any better, i know pretty much all exhaust manifolds are made of the same metal, i didnt know it was iron tho I suck when it comes to metals.
  6. exhaust manifolds are overrated anyway =P
  7. So are you going to set a date or not?
  8. Just buy my Pfeba bodykit for $6500, it comes with a free manual 325i!
  9. If you get a M20 motor out of the facelift with the front pully on it already, and get the facelift wiring loom and ecu ( 1.3 ) you will be fine. We converted a Motronic 1.0 ( 1986 325i ) to 1.3 and there are a lot of differences, we had to put the pully and sensor on the front ( bolted straight up easy ) but we also had to change a few plugs around ( i.e. the oil level sensor is different ) , rewire a heap of stuff, and on and on, it took ages. And because the car had the fancy sport mode auto in it, at the end of the day, the car was stuck in limp mode because the gearbox ECU wasnt compatible with the newer 1.3 ECU, ( or we were too noob to figure it out. ) If you get a M20 facelift engine, and the ecu and wiring loom out of all the same car, you should be sorted. You may have to break the casing off the ECU plug to get it through the firewall though, we had to do that because the original 1.0 plug is only 2 rows of pins and the 1.3 one is 3 rows of pins, i have no idea about the Jet tronic or whatever its called one though.
  10. Ok so whos the guy i drove past today just up the road from McDonalds in a 320i ( i think ) E30 with a massive bimmersport sticker plastered on the back window? Just wondering lol
  11. good idea. set a date and ill be there.
  12. These are my plans for my 325i First thing to do, if its auto, is to put a manual in. ( nearly finished ) Then chip it ( easier done if you have a Motronic 1.3 ECU, i had motronic 1.0 and had to rewire the entire engine basically with the new facelift loom ) Get AFM off m30 engine, bore out throttle body, get a cam made? bigger injectors? Pod filter, but get a heat shield or it will do nothing but suck hot air into the engine.
  13. Thats what i thought, but i think you could make a little over 200, but not 250 lol
  14. How do you expect to make that much power? I have been thinking of doing up my M20B25 but keeping it N/A. With a E36 AFM, bored out throttle body, hotted up cam, chipped, i reckon id be lucky to make 230hp.... personally. What do you reckon would make 250bhp? Very interested!
  15. nah i got one now so its all good
  16. I have one now, from a 320i. Nah i was told by HellBM guy or whatever, that the 240 and 260 gearboxs are different lengths so hense a different length drive shaft.
  17. Nope, wont need to, i have pulled the sensors out because Troy and I converted my car to Motronic 1.3. Everything worked out well, but the gearbox ecu doesnt like talking to the engine ecu, so my auto is now in limp mode, hense why i am hurrying up converting it to manual.
  18. Hey guys, Im converting my 1986 325i (date 10/85 ) to manual next weekend. It has the "sport" auto gearbox in it at the moment and I don't know if I am going to have to get a different starter motor or not. The gearbox I am putting into it is supposively out of a prefacelift 320i but it doesnt have the sensors on the bellhousing in it so im guessing its actually out of a facelift. It says 240.0.0130.90 on the inside of the bellhousing so i guess its a Getrag 240, and the flywheel is single mass. All i really want to know is if my original starter motor is going to be compatable with the single mass flywheel? Thanks for your help guys.
  19. Converting my 325i to a manual, got all the stuff out of a 320i other than the drive shaft. I have been told only a 320i manual shaft will fit into my car because the 320i manual gearbox i am going to use is a different length than the 325i manual ones. Does anyone have one??? Thanks.
  20. e30s rock, get one. Welcome. If you wanna check out some cool e30's go on e30tech.com
  21. nah thanks lol i want my car to go faster
  22. Hey mate, Thanks for all your insite man, you have been very helpful. It looks as if i would be digging myself a big hole if i get a facelift gearbox such as that one on trademe. I think i just have to wait it out until a prefacelift comes up for sale. And that's fine with me. Cheers.
  23. The guy on trademe must has the model wrong, because he says "to answer your question there is no sensor in this gearbox bellhousing" and it reckons it's a 1990 323i..
