  1. I have to say I was pretty tempted with this car too, congrats. I'm down in Invercargill so if you need any help in the checking out let me know. Tim
  2. Where is the best place to go to get the headlights aimed up properly! I could go possum shooting on low beam! Auto electrician or local garage???
  3. I'll go and check TM and see whats there!
  4. It was an Auckland car - now making the most of traffic free Southland roads I got it 12mo ago with 84k on it - now 104k, just sooo much fun to drive. I got the corner indicators as part of the deal, but may go to oem clears!
  5. I just thought it was beige?
  6. Probably something safe like this - not sure about the altezza round ones??
  7. Hi Thought I'd post some pics of the coupe. Ok, finally spent some money on the appearance of my 328 coupe. You know after tyres, waterpump and new brakes thought it would be nice to see my $$$ Thought I'd do the lights first - I'm 2/3rds away thru, just need to do the tail lights. Depo angel eye headlights with separate indicators. And some new projector fog lamps.
  8. Try searching for a 530i, 540i and all these 3 series pop up - really annoying!

Probably wouldn't have time to watch TV - what with your eyes been crushed back in your head by the 400 horses
  10. Must have been sitting in the shed for a bit ! That would explain the spiderweb in the grill. Must be pretty thirsty with that 2.0 6 cylinder V8! Ok I'll stop now - that was tooooo easy

    MMMMM

Man I wish I'd won lotto at the weekend! I'd love to have one of these in the garage... Silver e39 M5
  12. I had my eye on that one too! All signed up to do the auction and bid - a virtual newbie bidder I have learnt since that Turners run multiple lanes so you have to watch them all or find out which lane it is going to auctioned on. Oh well, I've got over it (almost) it was a fantastic deal... Maybe I'm destined for a 540 after all
  13. I agree with you Jeremy, the prices are all over the place for an e39. I was wondering about getting something with higher km's. But maybe if we are patient things will come down more for cars with lower km's. Red 530i NZ New 530i Is the NZ new car worth the $23,000 dollar premium over the jap import? But what the hell with petrol prices high, this looks tempting 540i burble burble
  14. 1973 BMW 3.0 CSI MANUAL 3.0 CSI This is a great looking car, maybe BMW need to look at he past to come up with aesthetic designs for future cars?
  15. It definitely is a hunt trying to find the perfect BMW... I guess if I'm patient the price of V8's will drop (probably significantly?) if I decide on the 540. At least the internet makes the process easier. I had a look at a higher km 530i (2001) and the dealer told me Msports only come with suede and apparently in Silver - obviously don't check out this website! Or TM...

If I get brave I'll work out how much money I've lost on all the cars I've owned - it's probably a 4 bedroomed house!!!

After having a look at the "Interesting website - worth a look., Grab your vin number and punch in the details" in the General Section. I decided to punch in some old number plates of cars I've owned and see what happened to them after I'd owned them. 1. Corona Turbo - 1st car - Written off 2. Supra 2.8 (great straight 6) - Written off 3. 200SX - scary fast, loved that turbo - deregistered 4. Legacy GT - Written off 5. Subaru Leone - Dereg 6. Diamante 4wd - still on the road 7. Legacy twin turbo - still on the road 8. MX5 - still going 9. SP23 - still going 10. Colt GTO - 1st project car - written off! Thats all the ones I can remember at the moment - really sad someone trashed the colt. There must be a BMW to save - once I've got some more garage space...
  18. e34 M5 always been "my precious"
  19. Thanks everyone for the info... Amazing how a bodykit has the potential make you think it was the bargain of the century! Oh well maybe back to e39's
  20. Thanks for he info guys. The km's are low! Checking the Aplina stuff on line - Yeun is right there is a plaque somewhere on the centre console sayings it's an Alpina... I think I need to build another couple of garages. I feel the need for a project car coming on, and don't want to get rid of my 328. I'd still love to rescue a 635csi.
  21. I know I said I'm looking for an e39 530 Msport, but doesn't stop me from considering the "classic" e34! I randomly spotted this on the Turners website today, I managed to watch it online - got passed in at about $8k. It's a jap import, with 65,000km. But is it an alpina or a 535 with a bodykit and badges?? Here's some info for you true e34 and Alpina types. VIN 7A81H290701824479? Chassis 0BF91660 The decoder I used says: Chassis number BF91660 Vehicle code DC88 Series E28 Model 535i Body type saloon Catalog model ZA Production date 1990 / 01 Engine M30 Transmission Automatic Steering Right Catalyzer NONE It has the following bits: 3500cc 6 Cylinder Auto. Well presented in metallic blue. BMW 535 with Alpina modifications; 17'' alloys, spoiler, steering wheel and graphics. The interior is particularly clean and it has all the usual high spec, including sunroof and cruise control. Power Steering,Alloy Wheels,Cassette Radio,Sun Roof,Leather Trim,Air Conditioning,Spoilers,Cruise Control,Central Locking,Electric Windows,Anti-Skid Brakes Anyway - is this the deal of the century or should I aim for the ole e39 Msport?? Thanks
  22. I'll keep an eye out for the TM listing, I'll have to do some research on the 528!
  23. It's been sold on behalf of and the owner wants to see it gone, so I think the price could be driven down a bit further. So it could be a great "project car" to lower, and body kit... Don't think I've seen any msports with 100k for less than $24k Man thats going to take some serious talking to convince the other 1/2 - oh well nothing ventured nothing gained
  24. Finally managed to get a test drive of this 530i (2000 ex Singapore) Blue 530i First time I've driven a 5 series, I have to say I'm impressed, and thats with it not being an M-SPORT. Wet and shitty day, so the DSC light did a bit of flashing, great stopping power, and loaded with buttons for everything. I think the price is pretty good too. My wife doesn't like the seats prefers the sports seats in the 328 and didn't like the km's.... Unfortunately it's just a bit too grandady (looks wise), I'm not quite there yet! Think it's going to have to be a black or red 530i MS and lower km's They have just dropped the price on their 540 to $27995 in todays paper and it does look good in blue! 540
  25. Don't forget the GST! As us motorists are seen as a cash cow to prop up the consolidated fund (and petrol company profits), surely there comes a price point where the Govts revenue and company profits plateau or decrease? Plus good ole supply and demand (i.e lots of petrol and less demand) forces a price reduction?? Or is petrol one of those things that this won't happen?
