Nice ride.. Welcome to the forum.
-
That 6 is gorgeous. Lovely car. Hope you have a lot of fun driving it..
-
Welcome to the forum. Love the stance and color of your coupe.. Very nice.
-
I've seen one in Australia so I'm hoping there might be more than one in NZ.. I'll keep looking till I find one.. If I haven't found one within the next year or so I might look at importing one.

Bumping again.. Anybody?
-
Love your ride. Welcome to the forums.

Gotta say. Those rocker cover are looking rather smart.. Very nice.

I cant help but if you go here there are a bunch of very knowledgable guys dedicated to the e38's. I'm sure someone there will be able to help. Anytime I have something wrong with mine(which hasn't been often) this is my first stop if I cant figure it out myself. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?274-1995-2001-(E38)

lol.. I considered buying yours and putting the V12 in a shorty.. But after a bit of investigation it was cost prohibitive.. Cheaper to import a car from the UK..lol

Bumping cause I want one bad....
-
Gorgeous car. Welcome here..

NIce to see another 7 around here. Before you race ahead replacing the waterpump, check the thermostat cap first. They're made of plastic and tend to get hairline cracks along the inside of the ridges. If that is the problem have a look on ebay for a aluminium replacement cap.. You can get one of those plus the thermostat for about a third of the cost of buying the plastic replacment from repco. Good luck and have fun with it..

Considering it was a flagship model and a hell of a car to drive I'm suprised the E38 doesn't rate a mention in the list.

Nice. I'm eventually going to do the tips out the bumper as well. I can imagine. I bought the reset tool off trademe so I can do the full service myself. Are you going stright pipes all the way though or an aftermarket muffler? I'd be weary of drone in the cabin.

If it was a 750i I would have bought the whole car.. It would seem they're as rare as hens teeth in NZ.
-
If you hear of or see or have a E38 750i for sale I'm Interested.. Just to be clear, a 750i. Not a il. I want a shorty. I'm open to looking at almost anything although being road worthy would be a nice start...lol

Welcome to the addiction. Nice ride by the way.

I cut the mufflers off and welded stright pipe on with a downturn at the bumper. Not too loud and has that nice V8 rumble now.
-
When I joined the forum over a year ago there where only a few e38's here.. I guess they're becoming more affordable now. Be nice to have a 7 series meet and cruise sometime.

Cost me $200 US and postage. Heres a vid another member did of standing starts before and after the DUDMD tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt_3AYXOApw I cant say enough about it.. Way more tourqe right through the revs.
-
was this a 750i or il?
-
I believe he's working on the 750 tune now.. His name is DUDMD. Here's the link to his post.. It also has everyone's thoughts and reviews.. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1974171-DUDMD-s-tuning/page11

Nice ride.. The SLS is adjustable.. So no worries about putting the lowering springs on there or you could just delete the SLS as many others do. I've lowered my 740i with Jamisen springs over the EDC shocks and have had no probplems with that. I bought the springs and then took the car to The Shock Shop and they fitted them for me. Hope its ok to post this link here.. If your a DIY guy this site has all the info you'll need re your E38. If you have a hunt around you'll find all the info on shock's, springs and coilovers you'll need. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?274-1995-2001-(E38) Before After

A bit over a year later and I'm more in luv than ever with my 740i. The only thing that would make me consider selling it would be if someone offered up a 750i... Not a 750il..lol a 750 shortie...mmmmmm I dont even know if there are any in NZ. I do know I want one...lol

On another forum I found a discussion about another member tuning the chip himself. After reading the reviews of other board members who had him do the mod to thier cars I was convinced. He was good enough to tune a chip he had and sent me a complete 404 DME from America.. After a couple of weeks waiting it finally arrived in the mail so I swapped out the old DME with the 404. All I can say is WOW. Not only does it do 0-100 about 1.5 seconds faster but my average fuel consumption has gone from 6.7kpl to 8.2 kilometres per liter. win win..
