    My baby. 95 740i

Heres my baby. Not many mods other than the wheels and I've lowered the front about 35mm.. Also done a muffler delet so it has that nice V8 rumble now.
  4. Bumping this as a member here may have a set of EDC shocks I can use.. But I'd still be looking for some lowering springs for the car.
  5. Repco in Wanganui told be they wouldn't do BMW parts as they're to expensive.. Even when I was standing there with money in hand wanting to order the part they said no. So they've lost a customer.. I'd check under car parts on trademe. I found that the people on there who sell new BMW parts can get pretty much anything if you ask.
  6. My choice would be the Silver 740i. Low Ks and great cars.. More than enough room for a family. But then I could be biased..lol
  7. Cant remember the exact figures now but the BMW 4lt V8 put out 283 horses and the Holden 5litre V8 only put out 232..
  8. Thanks. Have been looking at doing exactly that..
  9. What did suprise me when doing the side by side comparison of the cars was that the 740i with a smaller 4ltr motor and heavier body than the 5 ltr Commodore still has a better mpg and was quicker as well. Awesome car.

I'd luv one of these. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-505303586.htm Watched this the other day.. Gives you an idea of how quick they are.. Gotta luv the Autobahn.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwE6VDMTuzs
  11. I've always wanted a E38.. Who says dreams dont come true...lol
  12. I was looking at the Black Schnitzer on trademe the same time as I bought mine.. very nice but mine had half the kms and was half the price of the black one. The bodykit is tempting though.. Gonna do the suppension first though..
  13. lol, I'll keep you in mind but I do like them a lot on this car so dont be holdin ya breath..
  14. Thanks. I think it'll look even better on those wheels when its lowered a bit. no more tire gap..
  15. Sweet ride. Very nice looking car. Whats the color and what suspension are you running? FYI, BMW motorbikes are beamers(Bema) BMW cars are Bimmers. Goes back to when BMW bikes raced against BSA's.. Beamers and Beazers.. I should probably shut up now as I'm sounding like a old Geezer talking about beamers and beazers.lol
  16. I've had this car for about 7 weeks now and I cant get enough of it.. My last car was a 95 SS Commodore and the 740i out performs it in every way. Now I've got the Bimmer bug big time and I'm looking forward to doing some work on mine. Lower it about 2" at the front will be a start and then I'll look at the exaust.. See if I can get a nice V8 rumble out of it. Does anyone knnow of any get togethers or show n shines or something around the Wanganui/Manawatu area? I'd really like to get in touch with other like minded folks in the area..
  17. Check the licence plate on carjam for free and it gives you the vin number.. Then go to bmwvin.com and enter the last 7 digits of the vin number. On neither of these sites does it mention schnitzer. And on both sites it's listed as a 2.5lt. if it was the stroked motor wouldn't it be listed as 3ltr?
  18. I'm looking for a set of good secondhand H&R springs and bilstien shocks for my 1995 740i. I might consider looking at a set of good secondhand S/EDC struts if the price is right.
