Congrats mate, a good feeling when you sort such an issue out eh!

Ahh I see. So im guessing you did carry out standard procedures when replacing the head? Plaining the head and cleaning the old gasket off the block etc... So the head is 100% legit as you have tested it correct? You sure theres no hoses or gaset leaks in the thermostat housing... or maybe a hose to your heater? Im sure you would know two check all that but cant think of what else it could be? No water galleries blocked? Hope you sort this out, I know how frustrating these things can be!
-
So with the new head on the oil is pushing through into the water? Did you get the new head plained and the block skimmed, sometimes it pays to have the blocked skimmed so I have been told so dont quote me on that. As far as your air in the cooling system goes, I have the same problem simply because I dont have a bleed valve lol.. I simply fill my cooling system up with radiator fluid and water, wait for the thermostat to open then pump the air out by squeezing the bottom hose until I feel a constant flow of HOT water flowing through the hose and the reservoir is fill to the top, somehow it manages to get all the air out of the system and my motor never overheats etc. I know im not running the same engine but cant be to much difference... Hahah. Too true! Just like Helen had a choice, we have a choice of who we want to lead us. Hopefully its not her this time round.

M20's redline at 4500?
-
Hmm that would mean having to take the drivebelt off and the crank pulley... dont have rattle gun. Im gonna stick with the baffle idea in the sump and utilise the current hole and have a pipe comming into it from a verticle direction and just weld that -10 fitting to the end of the pipe.
-
Yea thanks guys. Decided to do it properly aye i dont wanna damage a $2500 turbo.... Hey Mike care to get some pics or sumthn of where u tapped into? Is the timming cover alloy or steel?
-
Pretty impressive aye Be good if you could attacth an emblem like that and keep it permanent lol
-
Thanks Glenn. Thats what I thought, a puddle at the bottom of the hose where it bends.. Mite have to take the sump off again and add a baffle in...
-
Ummm im running -10 fittings so not sure on the size of what the line would be? I posted under the forced induction section with a detailed picture there have a look but yea i was thinking it shouldnt be to much off an issue? Just scary gambling with an expensive turbo tho hah... You got msn or email? PM me ill send u some now easier than uploading them to photobucket lol. Sweet u got any new pics of what u done?

Damn I hate it when you are rushed into doing things. Prime example today, my fabricator is heading to Auz tommorow for 2 months! Had to get my sump off, had to drill and get him to weld the oil return fitting to the sump, get it all back together so we could move it to get someone elses car off the hoist.... of course being in such a rush I managed to forget the side of the m50 sump is not completly vertical... End result was something like this: I know this is not ideal what so ever but im thinking, with the turbo being top mount and the drop the oil travels from the drain on the turbo to the fitting on the sump, would it have enough velocity too travel up slightly through the fitting and continue into the sump? If not i will have to cut it off and weld a piece of pipe to counter the angle of the sump and then re-weld the fitting to that. Atleast the main part is over where having to take the sump off to retrieve all the metal shavings from drilling the hole in the sump. While I was at it I became very generouse with loctite and secured the oil pump nut heres hopeing..

Sweet man, are u having ur intercooler black so its stealth? Im wondering wether to do that or not. Ive done my intercooler now ifu want some pics to see how i done mine? Yea thats right man gotta have boost aye I got my sump off today and welded the oil return fitting to it. Got it all back togehter all my steering rack and suspension bolted back up and realised that the oil return fitting angles down at say a 4oclock postion now wondering if my turbo is going to even drain with no issues

The motorsport 325i ones are bigger.. however they will not fit your 320i hub which in turn is a part of the whole rear suspension arm. If you want bigger stronger half shafts and CV's you will have to get the whole arm/cvj/shafts which im sure Ray could sort out for you

Im guessing 2592 x 1944 is too small?
-
Good man. Cant say I know too much about them man have you priced up new ones? I think repco and Segedins do lifters aye.
-
Yea man while you got it apart you may as well do ya bearings save the hassle later. If you can do it yourself it shouldnt cost you to much. Haha all good Jimmy not a problem. I read somewhere that the Factory E36 ECU is good for 19psi!! So should make the car driveable to get the exhaust done and out to get my Link tuned
-
Why a holset? Be greater support for garret etc here in NZ im sure? Thats the way bro go Link. Im running a Link G3 definitely the way to go. Running a VW MKII Brake booster for clearance, even with this brake booster it still had clearance issues. I've got a spare set of lifters if your having trouble not sure on their condition though. How far through are you on your M50 Conversion?

Oh true awesome, you documenting it on here? Good stuff im just running my setup on a stock motor until i decide to build up my spare block probably stroke it to a 2.8 or 3.0 sometime. Yeap there def is got too many youtube links etc haha! Oh right I will check that out haha. Im running a ZF E36 gearbox. And yea they are pretty rough to be honnest. Will see how she holds up. What gearbox are you running? What turbo, boost, ecu etc? You should post up about it. Luke

I second that. The motor would have been stock etc but no doubt it would have been tuned to the dime. Just a heads up for ya bud
