  1. Anyone know of anwhere in New Plymouth that does this? Can get shortened Bilsteins for the rear but fronts need to be shortened apparantly anyone with a lathe can do this?
  2. Haha really? What are the axles and CV's? Just off a 320i 318i? I could probably do with a few spare CV Joints haha
  3. Ahh I see! That would mean im running a medium cased diff then it has 6 bolts on the side bearing carriers. Wicked im going to try and find some 325 MS axles then thanks heaps Glenn! hmm im not sure of my ratios I just got a diff off blair out of his pre-facelift e30, it does about 3000rpm at 100km. My locked diff is my original 318i diff which does about 3800rpm at 100km!!! I am running the ZF 5 Speed gearbox which came with the E36 M50 motor Cheers, Luke
  4. Hey Glenn, no I rang the local tuner here in New Plymouth whom which link told me to ring last time I enquired about one. Yea buying the link itself is'nt so bad, fitment and tuning on the other hand works out quite steep. Wether its due to the fact that the vehicle is a bmw im not sure of. Thanks man Cheers, Luke
  5. Yea im definitely gonna go link just been quoted $3100 installed and tuned just hopeing theres no additional costs on top of that cause thats pretty much my limit.. From there i will save for a manifold, turbo, headgasket and bigger injectors. This time im going to do a descent FI job and get the ECU first, the most vital part of it all in my eyes. Where did you get yours done bro and how much was it all up installed?
  6. Has anyone here had a LINK G3 installed and running an M50B25? I know they are a wire in job was considering wiring it myself but might get it done profesionally. Are there any extra add ons to consider or will the LINK be wired up using all factory sensors etc? Be good running MAP sensor instead of AFM! Also what happens with things such as the idle control valve tps sensor etc... are they retained or? Cheers, Luke
  7. Thanks Glenn how do I know if the Diff is a medium cased diff? Found a Inner CVJ btw thanks for the help. Luke
  8. Non ABS 318i Chasis. Is there something stronger i can use? Don't think my CV's are enjoying the torquey M50 in there this is the 2nd CV in two days...
  9. Need a complete axle that goes between the diff and the hub. Including the CV joints on both ends. Cheers, Luke
  10. Google is my friend dw guys figured it out haha
  11. Any tricks to getting the outter CV Joints of the rear axle on a E30. Im guessing theres a circlip holding them on? Cheers, Luke
  12. 1.5, If that.... 3 piece is the way to go. I 2nd that drifty, dreams are free.... Yea paint them gold bro or bronze even better they will look the part kinda what i wanna do eventually if i ever find some RS's..
  13. If they were 3 piece i would have been interested...
  14. Oh yea ive replaced the air flow meter already no change Yea but this overfueling problem only happens when i put a generouse amount of fuel in the tank =S I can see there is a slight leak of fuel where the filler hose goes into the tank will this cause the car to run bad?
  15. Hey Ian yea my e30 has a m50 2.5L motor in it wat do u drive mate? Whats the MAF? Ill probably be like "duh" when you tell me lol Cheers mate. ps. anything happening bimmer wise in welly tommorow?
  16. Ok I know i have asked this question before but im gonna keep it nice and simple with the details this time.. When every I fill my tank full of gas the car runs really really rich and hunts for revs even under light throttle if the car is doing less than around 4500rpm. If you pull up to stop the car dies unless you keep your foot on the accelerator and keep it reeving frantically. I saw tonight that there is gas leaking in front of the rear right hand side wheel dont know where its comming from? Please help guys i need to sort this problem out before i head to wellington miday tommorw Cheers, Luke
  17. Yea probably more of a real fast grinding noise when the starter motor winds back down its a harsh noise not nice at all lol. Yea everythings done just gotta get a new clutch line and shes done
  18. Yea mint we sorted it losened all the box off and starter motor got the front bolt in first then did it all back up again now she starts! Only one problem once the starter motor has fired the motor up it makes a real high pitch buzzzzzzz noise like its skimming on the gears of the flywheel when it falls away from the flywheel... Haha damn straight bud
  19. I have both bolts going through the bellhousing and through the starter motor though... and they are both tight. I would have thought if the backing plate wasnt lined up properly that all the bolts through the bellhousing would not have gone through? Its the other big bolt at the other end of the starter motor (at the wiring end) that bolts to the side of the block that isnt going in. I guess if thats the case though then the starter motor obviously isnt lined up properly hence the problem?
  20. Yea we cant get that 17mm bolt in the other end of the starter motor the one that goes into the side of the block because the hole in the starter motor mount is about 3mm lower than the hole in the side of the block.. And yup we fitted the backing plate and its all in position properly im sure..
  21. Yea thats what i thought because the starter motor goes with that gearbox and it turned the motor over when it was in the other car.. yea hate stupid things like this lol frustrating as! Yea man flywheel is seated properly... cant understand what could be wrong here :S
  22. Woops... I think i did bro. I put the spacer on the clutch side of the flywheel not the crankshaft side lol that explains it. The teeth on the starter motor must be only half on the flywheel right? I got the big one on that used to be on the gearbox that we are using so ill stick with that one i think? Cheers dudes
  23. Hey guys, been doing the manual conversion on blair's E30. Ok we have pretty much everything sorted out i have the box in and the drive shaft all bolted up. Wired the automatic shifter connector so the motor turns over, clutch lines all hooked up, pedal box done etc... Heres the prob: Went to turn the car over with the orignal 320i automatic starter motor and the starter motors teeth just grinded on the flywheels teeth. So we thought ok must have to use the manual gearbox starter motor to fix the problem... put the manual gearbox starter motor in and it did the same thing.. does anyone know what the correct starter motor to use is? - We are using a Getrag 260 gearbox out of a 323i pre-facelift E30 - The clutch, flywheel and pressure plate is off the 323i pre-facelift E30 also - This gear is bolting onto a 320i facelift E30 Would a manual gearbox starter motor off a facelift E30 be different from a manual gearbox starter motor off a pre-facelift? STUMPED haha Theres always something that will bring you to a complete halt in your progress agreed everyone? Oh well part of the process I guess, any help much appreciated and if anyone has the correct starter motor for sale could you please PM me asap. Cheers, Luke
