From 110-210km mines been:
- 3 sets of tyres (first 2 were Pilot Sports, since moved to Primacy and getting much better life for slightly less performance)
- Set of brake rotors
- Set of pads
- 2 coils
- Accessory Belt tensioner and belt
- Many oil changes
- Rear sub frame bushes
- Gearnob (was getting pretty worn from ~160km)
I need to do the rocker cover gasket and front brake lines in the near future. I may jinx it, but it's been pretty cheap to run thus far.
I've only done about 70k in mine. Nearly all open road.
Replaced the following
2 x sets of tyres
Coils and plugs
Vanos motor and gasket
Both top rad hoses
Gearbox service due to it only having a few litres of fluid in it from a previous service.
Footwell computer
Headlight bulbs
However I need to replace the following soon.
Control arms
Brake rotors
Shocks
Rest of cooling system.

I feel like the wear on the bolsters and rubbers doesn't match how many KM's it has done. Could be 80k km's of city driving.

All that Mtech junk I sold for cheap to help out other owners. I could have installed that B58 in my E34 that I dream about by now.

SKP OE spec: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11137797&cc=1011687&pt=7680&jsn=436Yeah they have been real good for my E55. Unless it's a split order. As soon as something is coming from another depot the shipping gets silly real fast. And they charge way too much for oil to ship.

Ours didn't need painting.
Refirb these two. Then sell to some E30 hipster for $4000. Who promptly throws them on his $20000 318 4 door poverty pack.

What's a 15x7 basket weave worth these days? I have two. Straight but need a repaint.

Where are you trying to buy from?
FCPeuro has them landed in NZ for under $90usd. And they have a lifetime warranty. That's for 20 of them as I thought you may want spares.
Either Rein brand OE or BMW OE.

They are ridiculously bad, embarrassing for supposedly the main highway.I never said they would be fixed haha. But it will be a loose chip seal hell for months.
Cop mate said there is a pothole that destroyed a wheel on at least seven cars near the Kaimais two weekends back. He got called out to it. -
Was there on the weekend too.
Great track to watch at when it's an event this big. Big TVs everywhere. Sat down on the hairpin where most of the action is.
The horse racing story is just so there is less backlash. The track is barely used for horse training. I bet it gets developed in just a few years.
I might sneak in a track day or race event before it closes for good.
Anyone that attends racing or track days should be far more disappointed. Only Manfeild is left as an affordable option.

Drove to Auckland and back over the weekend.
Wow are we in for a brutal road construction season (summer). The roads are just wrecked.

Two wheeled equivalent of an Ariel Atom. But louder.

I live not far from the most popular route from Wellington to Martinborough. On a nice weekend there would be hundreds of bikers on club "Cruises" from Wellington.
I would say the majority of them are driving like f**kwits. Where I live it goes from 50kph residential to 70kph as you are leaving town. Then to 100kph once all the houses are done. As soon as the 50kph zone finishes they are mostly all in full race mode.
If I did this in my race car which is half the volume even with a straight pipe. I would be set upon by the police. Yet many of these bikes should not be on the road. They are race bikes that never see the track.I heard the local oldies are going to start filming them. Wonder if any of that footage can be used.

It's the boxes they come in. Arms just get thrown together in a box 1/4 the size.

Its a shame the exchange rate is just plummeting right now.

- Anyone driving a modern "MG"
You are not cool. Nobody thinks you are cool.
That is all.
Am I posting from your account while asleep?

I had EBC Yellow in my E34 race car when I purchased it. The compound on one pad on the front detached from the backing plate and was nearly the end of me on the back straight of Puke track.
I also had the Red stuff pads in one of my 180sx's. I swear they were no better than the stock Nissan pads I removed. I went to Endless pads in this car. They chewed through rotors but for a road car it had amazing brakes.Hawk pads are my go to now days.

If a major state highway has its speed limit reduced from 100kph to 70kph for around 50kms. Is that stretch of road still really a state highway or is it now just a local road?
Going by NZTA:
State highways are those roads in New Zealand that form a nationally strategic purpose in moving people and goods nationwide.
Local roads are those roads that form a regionally strategic purpose in moving people and goods within regions. These roads are managed by local government.
I would argue that 70kph speed limits mean that strategically moving people and goods nationwide is no longer the priority as efficiency for moving those has been significantly reduced.
The reduction in speed is due to road surface neglect and poor road layout planning. Also refusal to bypass Carterton and Greytown.-

First bit of mechanical work to complete on the car this weekend.
Water pump, pulleys, drive belt and supercharger belt. Looks quite simple. Will give the car a clean under the bonnet too. Need to find the correct coolant colour in Masterton somewhere. Hard work when the only other cars here are Falcons and Commodores or Rangers.

Unless EBC has changed their compound in the last 5 years I wouldn't bother.
Endless if you're feeling rich. Or Hawk Pads. I ran both for years in my E30 series car. Rotors made zero difference as long as they were not no brand Chinese ones.
Also run Motol 600 brake fluid or similar . If you don't that is the next thing to go. Stock will boil with upgraded pad compound as you can run longer.

I buy lots from ECS. Also check FCP though as brake pads are included in their lifetime warranty... Yup they will give you new ones for free when they wear out. But may not have performance pads.

They are usually the lowest. However have a look at who they offer around you for fitting. They also have a mobile guy in a van.

New M2
in General Discussion

Hate it. All the M gear makes it look like a mix between the Honda Civic R and a Scion.
That shitty little spoiler, the fake plastic looking bits on the rear bumper all look Honda to me.
The front looks like a bodykit from the early 2000's.
Doesn't follow the BMW design at all. Weighs 1700kg's......
Will absolutely chew through tires and brakes.
Watching a vid recently of a company that was running a G80 as a Ring Taxi. They just dumped it due to how it burns through tires/brakes/driveshafts (yep that's an odd one). Just too heavy.
