    My 318i

I tried photoshopping it for you, it is hard to do as painting things black doesn't always work and trying to make them look real is quite hard too. I also tinted the windows jut for fun hehehehe hope this gives you an idea of the wheels sorry it didnt work trying again

looks sweet, I never really liked the red coupes or the silver coupes but hey look what I got a silver coupe and the silver and the red have actually grown on me. The wheels really suit the car looks awesome. I love wheels that are easy to clean!!! hate washing my parents cars, dad's got m5 wheels on his 5 series and mum has sum multi spoke wheels and they are the worst to clean

    Shorty's new beema

I will see what I can do Thanks I had the image of it set in my mind and aimed for that, it would have had the same wheels as my 325 except some guy wanted to buy it with the wheels, gave me a deposit and at that time the thruxtons came up (I wanted them ages ago, when I had my E30 I wanted them) so I used the deposit to get the thruxtons and then the guy backed out of the sale so I was stuck with an extra set of wheels. However the wheels completed the package of the 325.

    Shorty's new beema

Thanks!!! I think its at a good ride height its not too low, it only just scrapes over speed bumps now as it is so I got to be careful, but its not so low that I'm going to damage something. I got the conversion kit from my work (European Autospares) got it at a special rate as I'm staff, I'm not sure how much they are actually worth but I paid bout $800 incl. GST for mine. The kit was already on the car, but my work (European Autospares) will more then likely have them, or at least be able to get hold of some

    Shorty's new beema

hahaha you don't wana know, I privately imported it and it ended up costing more then I expected around the 12k mark :s which is bad because I would struggle to get that for it now, but its ok as I am happy with the final result and I will be keeping it for a while....
  7. Here is my new car, finally all together and on the road. At the moment it's an 1998 auto 318is coupe, its done 51,000 kms it is the twin cam 1900cc model though, I have a manual conversion kit to go in it, I am just waiting for a new clutch kit, which I am only able to get in mid January. I have lowered it on Bilstein springs, it has the full m-tech kit, a sun roof, m-tech steering wheel, M3 wing mirrors, I put some 18" tsw thruxtons on it I like the deep dish look on BMW's. I am trying to source an E36 M3 EVO two piece spoiler for the rear, I am planning on tinting the windows then it should be sorted.... I have an alpine head deck, JVC and Pioneer components and a 15" sub in the back which is being replaced by two 12"s at xmas. The interior is Half leather and half cloth with motorsport style front seat. Hope you guys like it as much as I do
  8. Daily driver relative to the good old money issue would be my soon to be manual silver E36 coupe, however I do miss my E30 :'( ultimately if money didn't matter there is a huge list lets say if it was a BMW it would be E30 M3 or E46 M3 as well as these a version 6 (1998 shape) Subaru WRX STI Coupe type R. Oh yea lets not forget the HSV GTO coupe..... exotic= Lamborghini Murcielago

    RX E30

soon you will ROT8M3 a black E36 M-tech coupe, lowered on 19" stilletos, it looks pretty mean, not sure what type of rotary engine is in it never really asked
  10. Yea I know, they look allright but I don't want to get the cops on me. so im going to go for black tints instead.
  11. I thought I would post a pic of an E36 which I chopped too look similar to what I wanted mine to look like, It is almost ready to go on the road, just had the paint touched up and am currently putting it back together and doing a manual conversion, I will post pics in the rides section once it is complete
  12. I completely agree with everyone, I thought that sounded a bit stupid, and I also would have thought there would be a higher percentage of manuals that are NZ new than the amount of manuals imported especially if they were imported from Japan. (They love their autos up there, my dad loves the old mini's and has looked at some on a japanese import website and 98% of them are auto) Owell cheers for your imput everyone.... I was under the same impression as you all
  13. A friend of mine rang BMW (I think it was Team Mcmillan - not 100% sure though) They have done a manual conversion on an E36 coupe and they rang up after a peddal box, and they said that they have no such thing as a manual E36 coupe on their system. I was thinking what about the M3 E36's. But apparantly they were saying that according to their records there are no E36 318i, 320i, 325i, 328i coupes in the country. My mate was asking if that meant that they never made them... The only thing I could come up with was that maybe there were no manual ones that were "NEW" in NZ. Im guessing all the manual ones may have been imported.... Anyone have any info on this?? Cheers Shorty
  14. Hope this looks alrite, and is what you wanted... Cheers, Shorty
  15. Hahaha I will give it a go, don't know how reliable it will be though.

  20. QUOTE(Gus @ Aug 24 2006, 01:53 PM) shorty got some pics of my car in the rides section http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=6927 could ya chop some of the side ons with a black bonnet and roof and boot, and make the rest a really flat, creamy pink? cheers Hey I finally did the E30 in a flat creamy pink, I was a bit busy over the last few weeks, and then when I finished it, I couldn't upload the image for some reason. Anyway I hope you like it, It is quite hard to make a dark coloured car a lighter colour, hopefully this is similar to what you were after. Cheers, Shorty
  21. how bout this one as a favourite???? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C.../p-25824372.htm
  22. Yea I sure can, I don't have time today but I will give it a go tomorrow
  23. I know hahaha but I had to throw them in there hahahaha (by the way I didn't chop them)
  24. yea its easy if you know what you are doing, I've done heaps of colour changes and though just trying different things in PS i have figured out a way that suits me best. 1) Basically I just select the whole car using the magnetic lasso tool, then I go over it carefully with the polygonal lasso tool. then I deselect the parts I don't want painted for example, badges, windows, mouldings, lights, grilles etc... 2) Then I use Ctrl C to copy the selection and Ctrl V to paste it in a new layer. 3) Then I use the image menu > adjustment > hue/saturation to colour the car, note: you have to tick the box in the window that says colourization. then you are free to watch the colour of your car transform... If I cant get step 3 right there is another option in the layers palette, there are 6 buttons in the bottom of the layers palette the one that is a black circle with an 'f' in it is the one I choose, its allows you to "add a new layer style" in the menu that pops up from that I select colour overlay - choose a colour you like - change the opacity so you can see the shadows and highlights on the body of the car. then select the blend mode - i usually use multiply - or colour - then you can once again mess around with the opacity until it looks right Have fun
