  1. Hi Nick

    The Durun's definitely fall in to the bottom end of the tyre market. I am guessing they have scalloped pretty badly as that is what tends to cause the noise on cheaper tyres. If the ride is 'bouncy' it may pay to get your shocks checked out. Worn shocks will cause irregular wear on the tyres, as the shock is not working properly and the tyre tends to absorb the bumps rather than the shock itself.

    What sort of driving do you do? Are you doing a lot of commuting/touring type driving? Or are you a bit of a "weekend warrior" that loves a bit of 'spirited driving'? :D

    What size tyre are you looking for?

    Surely you see the E30 guys dry-humping each other over WIDE 16" (and to a lesser extent 17") rims. Even to the point of importing their own from the States at big $$$. Can you guys not to something in this niche? Hell, it's not even a niche it's gaping chasm! :lol:

    Rocking up at the Tron meet in front of 30+ E30's with some demo wheels would make the kiddies excited ;)

    The difficulty is that we cannot import 1 or 2 sets at a time. There is just no economic sense in importing a pallet load of wheels at a time.

    If we decide to get wheels made for us the minimum we have to order is 80 pces (20 sets), so we really have to make sure the wheel style is bang on. Every now and then we come across a few sets sitting in factory stock (like the Alpina reps) but we still have to make up a 40' container (generally 1000pces or 250 sets).

    What ends up happening then is that we pick the best wheels from 5 or 6 factories and then pull our hair out trying to get them shipped to one destination so we can load a container and then ship them here :wacko:

  3. The rear adjuster is there for a reason. If you look at the spring compared to a normal one you wil see the diameter at the bottom is considerably larger. If you don't use teh adjuster the spring will not seat properly and slop around. Slopping around = bad things can happen.


  4. We have lowered plenty of E46 BMW's at work, but not a lot of Motorsport's for the following reason. Your Motorsport will probably already be 25-30mm lower than a standard E46 due to it having the factory lowered motorsport springs in it. Most lowering springs give a 40mm - 45mm drop from standard E46 (non-MS) factory height. In reality this means your car will only be lowered by another 15mm-20mm or so.

    You also have to be careful not to go too low with your coupe as you run the risk of damaging your subframe.

    We have Admirals in stock which are made by Kumho. It is the 712 tread pattern. $109 incl fitting and balancing and 10x better than the Federals!


  6. I went through a phase where I was drinking lots of V back when it first came out. They truly are addictive drinks, the more I drunk, the more I needed. It got to a stage where I was drinking up to 5 a day. It took me a month but I managed to wean myself off them. Now I drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day, and may have an energy drink (normally Red Bull) once a week if I am lucky.

    Seriously some of you guys need to try and cut out the excessive amounts you are drinking. I found the best way to do this was to drink heaps of water.


  7. Everything posted thus far and in the auction is 17"

    Typ 1 racing wheels came in both 17" and 18" but the 18" version looks completely different.

    I'm guessing it's because the ones in the auction have bowl lips, as distinct from step lips. Which I've never seen before.

    Mobbin - Are you still running your 18x9's at the back of your E36?

    No they are the TR918. The TR968 is horrible. It is noisy and dangerous in the wet. We have stopped selling the 968.

    The TR918 is an asymmetric tyre and is designed as a commuting tyre. It is a lot better than the 968. If you want someting better quality we have a few options in stock, cheers.


  9. My Specialized Enduro is a "smidgen" over 12kg..

    And its a full suspension bike with 6" and 6" of travel..

    Yep, my Foes "all mountain" is the same. 6" front and rear, dual discs, SRAM and around 12.5kg

    It seems there are a few MTB riders on this forum, perhaps we should get together. I am out at Woodhill most Wednesdays.
