  1. ^ I have thought this. It does go on three wheels pretty easy on the track...

Maybe I should just deal with it...haha

Definitely sounds like a shock length problem then rather than spring rate. A customer in a Primera used to have the same issue as well.

Why don't you try changing the shocks back to your old ones to see if the issue disappears?

  2. Jono is looking at hubcentrifying my shiz now. I can't get rings machined up becauase apparently they will be too thin which makes them birttle.

I thinkthe best way for us to try and solve this is to attach the spacer to the back of the wheel and put a hubcentric ring in the spacer. Bring all your shizz in and we will have a look at it for you. We may need the wheels for a few days, and it goes withut saying .. you wil need a cert. :)

  3. Okay so I need some suspension experts help with the set up in my E30 track car.

The springs in the rear are defintely captive, when I brought the shocks the rebound needed to be lengthened as there was only 20mm travel once bolted in :o and I need a trolley jack to compress the spring enough to bolt the shock onto the trailing arm.

Any help or pointers are appreciated.

    Cheers, Nathan

Going down a different route to everyone else, and after having similar problems in a different car (a lowered RAV4 with shortened shocks :D ). To me, it still seems like your shocks are too short and are topping out causing it to bounce around (the springs are under too much compression). Have you tried putting your old standard shocks back in and seeing if this makes any difference? Food for thought perhaps.

  4. Hey guys... need some more rubber... i need some 205-45-16s, dont mind on brand or weather they are new or used. but dont want to spend much... please let me know what you have.

have new ones available from $129 each incl fitting and balancing. They are pretty budget though!

  5. Whats the make of the springs and what sort of drop does that give me?

    could be keen.....

*i want a good deal for a good drop...* I doubt you will find a better deal on new springs installed

as i can get it compressed for 180... but would rather prefer springs even if second hand..

They are Jamex springs and will give a 45-50mm drop from standard factory ride height.

Don't Forget - you NEED a cert if you want to get compressed springs so add another $400 to your price of $180.

Personally I would never compress springs - the ride quality is just so bad after they have beed tampered with.

  6. I got no problem with a 7 series either just havent fond any good ones for under 10k so didnt include it haha

We have a couple that can be sold. They both have minor niggles (as do all cars of this age) but the price will probably be right for you. One is a Silver 735 V8 and one is a Blue 740 V8. You are welcome to come and check them out. I will have the 740 at the Auckland meet tomorrow.

  7. From a business point of view it is still the best "bang for buck" in terms of advertising. Unfortuantely, currently there is no real alternative. It reaches the biggest audience for the least amount of money spent. Trade Me seems to have become ingrained in people's psyche. We spend over $1k a month on listings, store fees and success fees. This year we will also have a stand at Speedshow. To give you an idea of costs - ONE WEEKEND @ Speedshow = TWO MONTHS on Trade Me.

Radio advertising, especially in Auckland is too fragmented, at last count there were over 40 radio stations in the Auckland Region.

From our point of view putting up the gallery pricing will hopefully drive out some of our competition that are finding it hard at the moment. We will have to bear the cost and it also means we will have to become smarter in the way we advertise. We spend a lot of time on Trade Me, there really is an art to listing items and successfully selling them. We are also a store which means poeple can contact us directly and are able to come and view the items before they purchase.
