  1. There will only be 2 un-defeated teams in the World Cup Finals, the All Whites, and whoever wins it! Not a bad list to be on.

Not necessarily. The All whites could be the only undefeated team if Spain win :P

Seriously though , well done to the All Whites, lets hope football can kick on in this country now!

  2. thanks Jonathan and Jono :)

My previous tyres were made in 03, and spun up easily in the wet albeit me having a 316i. 08 Firehawks most definitely would be better rears than the old tyres.

bridgestones in front for breaking, steering etc OR bridgestones at back for traction

Going for bridgestones in front then

EDIT: after reading some articles, it seems better rear tyres leads to better straight line breaking, better channeling of water in the wet, and a better outcome in case of blowouts. Scratching my head now haha :D

Put the Bridgestones at the front. In most cars the front tyres carry the majority of the load under braking. You will also have better steering.

  3. Sidewall height shouldnt matter in regards to the stretching issue, its just a bugger to mount, but whether you have 235/40 or 235/50 on a given rim size shouldnt figure. It is just taking into account tyre width to rim width. I cant imagine a manufacturers recommendation being too far off these figures, but then you would only need one good example by a reputable manufacturer to have the LTNZ scratching their heads again. Then you have the certed guys...

Are you a professional tyre fitter?

There is a huge difference in sidewall height using the sizes you have just mentioned, over 40mm to be exact, and a big difference in the recommended width for those tyres. A 235/50/18 for example has a recommended width of 6.5 -8.5" rims whereas a 235/40/18 has an 8" - 9.5" recommendation.

Sidewall height does matter, especially when you consider the majority of vehicles now run ABS and your ABS computer is programmed for a certain diameter tyre.

  4. AC's were ET36 these are ET38 ... frigged if I know... the car feels so much different... if I can sense those differences I should have worked for Ferrari... .04 Kg in weight & ET2 god knows..

BTW: I have approx -2' negative camber now... front & rear

It has more to do with the width of the rim and how the the tyre is seating. Your AC's are 8.5's aren't they? These are only 8" wide so you have made quite a change. These rims sit in about 8mm on the outside and a further 5mm on the inside compared to the old ones. In effect you have changed the track and this may explain why you are feeling so many differences.

  5. I might add the car feels so much different... realy it does...it's not my imagination

Johno ... can you weigh one of those new wheels & I'll weigh one of the Schnitzers... I want to know the difference in the weight. The car is quieter on the motorway, it accelerates quicker & the suspension feels so different and I'm using the same tyres.

They are bang on 9kg each

  6. As long as you can prove that the tyre width/rim combo is within the manufacturer's specifications you should be ok. Some over zealous WOF inspectors may require proof ( ie print off the Bridgestone sheet and take it with you).

We have already had a few calls about this and so far the WOF inspectors have been wrong on at least a couple of occasions.

  7. They are very expensive. Ours look to be the same but we have BBS logo's and are going to be at least $400 cheaper! we wil also be selling them individually for those that need them. Weight wise ours are not bad, very very close to OE specs.

  8. I have a E36 318IS, currently on 17" M3 Wheels with 205/40 front tyres and 215/45 Rear(i think) i put in some B&G springs and the back is fine but the front is very low, chassie rails sit about 75mm off the ground and its a pain to pull in and out of anywhere that has even a slight ramp lol,

What brand of springs have other people used to keep the front legal or almost legal.

    Cheers

    Chris

There is nothing wrong with the springs. the tyres you have on at the front are far too small for your car. You need the same size as the rear. :)

  9. Righto

Time for an update and the news is not so flash........... it really is doing my head in

From what I can gather from their very limited Englis,h the 15" wheels are ready but our other "special" wheels should be ready in the next week or so and this is what is holding the shipping up.

We are now looking at a mid-June shipping date, and hopefully here BEFORE Speedshow. :(
