ive heard good and bad about single and twin but i guess it depends what your building the car for at the end of the day. would like to see some pics of finished product. could be interested in a set myself -

imo i would get a set of custom headers made up, the factory set choke the motor quite abit more than you would think, i have driven an e30 with this motor with and without factory exh manifold, chalk and cheese. -

i noticed you mentioned about deleting p.steering. just to let you know you can get adaptors from places such as hydralink to convert the hoses into the e36 pump. and to confirm with jacko it is the e28 rubber mounts with teh e36 alloy arms,

^+1 have bent several VERY solid bits of 2-4" thick steel with a 80ton press trying to get them out in the past

Lightened flywheels definatly worth it, get it machined down to 6kg, thats about as light as you can go before it turns into a grenade. any clutch specialist should be able to do this, or a brake specialist, get them to balance it with your new clutch while your at it.
