  1. This doesent really bother me or affect me too much... but im still curious sounds electrical, low pitch and is about 1 decibel in sound, you forget about it after 5 minutes and dont even notice when the stereo is on, its a constant droning type buzz, as I said low pitch and low in volume, comes from inside dash, lower dash maybe... Any ideas??? just curious.
  2. no worries most cars do it, just to warm up, and as u said it only lasts 30 seconds or so i always treat it as *dont drive until the revs drop* cos im obssesive about letting my car warm up.
  3. LOL!!!!! nice... i'll give way to euro cars more readily than others... its all about the eye contact I make with them lol... like previously said, if the hesitate then oppertunity gone, or if they give me a sh*t look, the oppertunity has gone... as for parking, if I dont park away i park next to the ferrari and next to the porche, as to be sure not to get scratched... just like the state ad.. hehe
  4. ca18de?? are they chain driven?? jeez.. i have no idea lol.
  5. that was my post .. damn insurance... and the car that I got screwed over in, was totally un-modified at the time, and I had no reason to be denied half my claim... They just decided that it wasnt worth the permium that I had been paying for 2 years, (how they did this, I am unsure) the car was in great shape BEFORE the event took place (car got stolen, involved in a high speed police chase, and totally trashed) they had a valuer go in, decide the car was worth x amount of dollars, if I had shown him the car before the accident, it would have been worth what it was insured for, the car had no marks on it what so ever, nothin illegal, no mods, nothing at the time (it USED to have mods, but that had been over 6 months ago plus, those were all removable) the car was totally standard, a 1994 ford telstar waggon, 145,000 k's and I had insured it for $3000, third party, fire and theft, they paid me 1.5 for it... I couldnt believe it really, but thats what happend, several phone calls, branch visits, and arguments with people I gave in and said fine ill take it, (the alternative was get my own valuer). They then sent me paper work, I sent it back via fax within the hour, thinkin it would go through in the next day or two... it took FOUR WEEKS from that day for me to recieve my money... The insurance company to put shame to.. was Westpac, I cant remember what the insurance company they use is called, but I went through westpac.. and aside from that major screw over, have never had a problem, and im still with them simply because they insured my e30 with mods, and will continue in future after more mods (i checked) That sticky is mainly about mods, this is just insurance screw overs in general if im not mistaken..
  6. Age: 19 Location: West Auckland. Car/Year/Model: 1989 e30 320i 4dr. Insured value: $3.5 grand (not much lol) Driving record: 1 speeding fine which landed me 30 demerits, and a rego and wof fine on my old project, other than that, clean. Insurance company: Westpac (dont know specifically) Insurance type: Third party only, insured my car with mods so had to go for 3rd party only, Excess: $300 + $700 if in at fault. I pay a whopping $14.00 a fortnight. Sweet as... A question to you all, when you insured your cars, did the underwriters ask you any stupid questions??? My random question for the day was, has there been any mass flooding at your residence in the last 5 years???
  7. its good, ive seen that one b4, i showed my gf and she was like... "ah...yep"

  11. im my oppinion... what NOT to do with a bimmer. quite impressive though,
  12. I like it, loooks good nicely polished
  13. Apparently they can i had a big fight with them about it and they were adament that they thought thats what the car was worth, and I said id been paying the bloody premium for 3grand for 2 years and still to no avail, apparently its just what they do... there was no way I could win basically, unless I got my own valuer, and had it valued, but he cant go back in time before the car was stolen to see its condition... so it would have come to even less probably, plus, time and money I didnt wanna put in as I had no car what so ever ... after that they took a quick FOUR WEEKS to pay me my f**king money.

    Gamers?

yea, i had a psone, have a ps2 and got me a ps3 (it was my bday in march made it nice and cheap for me) not to many great games on release, but its f**kin insane what there is, resistance is the best game out yet, its worth every cent, ESPECIALLY online, and blue ray, for those who didnt get it, is just a bigger capacity disc, dvd's hold a maximum of 8gigs at the moment, blue ray has capacities of up to 30ish gigs at the moment, and thirdly, blue ray laser is just like a better camera lense, it focuses 10x better, reads faster and is able to transfer data quicker... and for ps2 and ps1 support, its there, just limited at the moment, as the ps3 fucntions with firmware upgrades, as it goes along, new updates get released which upgrades it to expand backwards compatibility, now that my neeeerrdding.. wwaahhooiii is over, never been a fan of nintendo, but like the wii, dont own, have every final fantasy made except 3. (never made onto ps).
  16. Number one, Ford telstar waggon.. westy mods, ashamed of them now lol. number two, 1988 mk5 ford cortina, short lived project, destroyed my wallet in fines (no rego n wof) and had many mods some of which were a bit ... westy also.. Number three, 1989 p/fl auto e30 320i, currently, LEGITIMATE lowerd suspension (oh yea) and sounds, not to much... and ive been driving for quite some time...
  17. I work with intellectually disabled people, I've been doing it nearly all my life, as my parents both run their own services, Dad hohepa auckland, part of a bigger wider community, hohepa is national and provides a residential service for intellectually disabled people, my mum runs F.E.A.T, further education and training, a vocational service which provides life skills and oppertunities so that they may be more accepted in the wider community and become more integrated. I've been working for hohepa for about 3 years (for my dad essentially) I got here through my parents... lived on site at various different places all through my life, mum and dad have been working in that field ever since i was 7, and we've always lived on site until recently, so thats how I ended up where I am. Going to go study sometime as well, .
  18. strange choice of car imo theres a laurel driving around west auckland at the mo, completely sleeper, escept for the slightly stiffend suspension, was cruising along on the motorway at about 115 - 120 and this gutless looking diesel laurel ( i thought ) crept up next to me, and all of a sudden ROAR big lexus v8 took off next to me, it was about a km off in the distance in what seemed like half a second..... insane, i would never have guessed, ever.
  19. Im thinkin of.. MAYBE darkening my rear lights a bit, what do you guys think of the look?? and do u know what the legalities of it are?? on transport and safety, they say, nothing can be done to a light that isnt cosmetic (ie neons... urgh) but yet my gf's car is a 4age corolla (rocket on wheels) and it has tinted rear lights and it passes wof's no sweat at testing stations and vtnz... any clues?? and what do u think?
  20. to true mate.. their a dying breed... (sort of) should be loved not demoralized!!!!
  21. As well as my e30, there is another of the bmw variety, I AM AWARE this does not have 4 wheels, and is infact a bike, but I thought you might all appreciate this just for what it is, What your looking at (if you dont already know) is a: 1979 r80/7 BMW Boxer 800cc Shes a beaut, runs like a dream, fun to ride, couldnt ask for better condition, its great. Just thought id put it out there,
  22. theres another one riding around out there, its super gloss black with super massive rims and always bagging around on a weird angle, ie, scraping at the bag and 4WD height at the front ... haha...
  23. ah yep, fair enough, i guess if you want good quality one should have the cash.
  24. Old car was stolen (reason for buying e30) From work at the time in Glen Eden, checked on it at 10:30 and by 10:45 it was gone, they went on the motorway to WAY out west, got caught by the cops, decided to do a runner, popped one of my rear tyres, drove about 10k's on my rim on the back, side swiped and crashed into just about everything, not only did they pull the ignition, the screw driver was smashed all the way through the steering column, two exterior locks had bin pulled, boot and drivers door, there were 4 of them, the rear passengers had nothing better to do but cut up my interior with knives and kick all my doors in, when I saw the car after that, I turned it over, It had become a chronic smoker issuing hordes of blue and black smoke, ran like sh*t and all my tyres were down to the wire... Insurance then f**ked me over by saying it wasnt worth what it was insured for (even though id paid the premium for 2 years at that rate) and only paid half, which is what they thought the car was worth. kinda reviving an old topic but I know what thats like and that sucks man just thought id add my 2 cents, p.s, the car had previously been stolen once, broken into 3 times, once at work, and twice in my driveway less than two metres from my window... my e30 rests in a garage with an alarm, and steering lock.. at work i take out the rotor in the dizzy. lol...
