Yep bought one. NZAD, forum sponser hooked us up. Half the weight of the dual mass.

Got the box out and the stupidly heavy dual mass flywheel and quite worn clutch and burnt pressure plate. Tomorrow the new light flywheel goes on along with clutch etc. Ordered all new shifter bushes for tomorrow too. Mmmm new bits. Cheers Mark for ya help, see you on wednesday.

We get them repaired in Tauranga. Bout $500 to repair.

Being an E39 I would take a hazard guess that it is the DSC control unit. Better to get it checked with a descent scanner i.e not aftermarket.

Little bit more on the 3 this afternoon. Plan to have the box back in midweek......Mark! While I was working the mrs was using her new DSLR her awsome boyfriend got her for xmas. Me asking her to hand me a spanner "i'll just take a photo instead".

In order for the cluster to read zero again is to change the Kombi, the DME and the Body controll module, even then it might still keep the memory. Any funny business with the cluster and it brings up the manipulation dot next to the milage.

I just putt to work and home in the v8 and it uses bugger all fuel so i couldn't justify that price to do the same but use no fuel.

Yep, german way of saying. So basicly the correct way Double Klutch Gearbox Clutch DSG is VW. Do not swear.

E46 ones are female front bums to access. We have a special tool that makes it slightly easier. I recommend handing over cash for this ones.

Alot of trouble to go through for an autobox. I know you don't want it manual but that would unleash it nicely.

Oh ok, was told it had a slight increase in bhp but they have been mislead. The 265 stands for 265kw does it not?
