  1. My E30 320i Auto gets about 120kms per Tank, but thats due to the Odometer turning slowler than its meant to, its only recording about 1/3 of the actual KM's i'm driving, this isn't the 1st time i've seen an E30 with this fault either, some of them just stop altogether. My E30 325i Manual gets 250 miles per tank, the odo on that is correct, as it hasn't been wound back like most Jap import E30's, its this that causes the fault i reckon.
  2. Was about $130 incl Shipping I think, theres a guy on the forum that sells them.
  3. Aussie, but it wasn't cheap to be honest.. with shipping prob $100
  4. Additional.. Got the Front Strut Brace last week, heres how it looks, I like that its white on white. Still to come: 16" Alpina replica Wheels from Zenetti, am fitting my 205/55/16 tyres I have spare on these, they are those Dunlop Formula FM901's, but awesome condition, ideally I should have 205/50/16, but these are sitting around spare. Currently I have 205/60/15's on the Weaves, so the overall diameter should only be bugger all: Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 205/60-15 4.8in 12.3in 24.7in 77.6in 817 0.0% 205/55-16 4.4in 12.4in 24.9in 78.2in 811 0.8%
  5. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-257988508.htm 10k for an E30, a 316i at that.. but at least its manual, no RPM counter though, just a clock, no stereo either
  6. Forget Kelford, I asked them recently and got this response: Hi,No sorry havn't got these. Regards, Kevin Ban Managing Director Kelford Cams & Camshaft Shop
  7. Define deep pockets? I have spent 5k on my 325i in the last 3 months.. nothing to show for it either, as its mostly repairs.. not mods..
  8. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...amp;permanent=0 I've always liked the idea of owning one of these.. any personal experiences anyone?
  9. yeah, just looked rusty and standard looking so didn't notice any additional ring, but its probably there I guess.. nevermind ... will have to attack it again next week when time permits. chances are they will be stubborn and tricky to get off hehe
  10. Hmm I guess the centre bore is differn't on my E30 320i on front hubs for some reason, its got me confused, as the wheels on that fit the 325i fine, just putting the 325i wheels on the 320i is the issue. The hubs look differn't to the ones on the 325i, centre bore looks bigger, but I woulda thought all E30's had the same centre bore? mmm.. and why would the fronts not be the same as the back..
  11. Tonight I tried swapping the wheels around, as my BBS 15" factory wheels on white 325i are going on my grey 320i, at least that was the plan, for some reason I can't put them on the front of the 320i, they fit on the back hubs fine, but the front hubs on it don't allow the wheels to fit over the centre bit.. whats the solution here?
  12. Yeap, i know how awesome they are, also been in a Merc CLS55AMG and CL63AMG (as a passenger) those are nice cars too.. I could see myself owning a big car eventually.. once I get a decent house.
  13. Nice, I've driven a 2001 750IL (mates car) handles well etc, plenty of power, his one is chipped and has no speed limiter etc, sadly they are too big for my garage, too long etc. my garage is short, E30 only just fits with 30cm to spare. Even a 540i probably wouldn't fit, or it might.. just. I like the old E30's, I could buy a late model car if I wanted, but at this stage i'm happy playing around with old cars.
  14. the ad on trademe claimed superlow 40mm, but 40mm is more then likely normal low i'd guess. I wouldn't really want it much lower though, its a daily driver, so needs to be able to go.. anywhere.
  15. I am getting some 16" wheels from Zenetti, black with polished lip, the ones he's getting next month.. I can't help but think that they might suit this car more than my white one. any opinions on that?
  16. Yes indeed, i hate those wheels so much that I would even take factory bottle tops over them
  17. Some progress of sorts Has some new Jamex Springs and replacement shocks. Next week = putting on 15" basketweaves from my other E30
  18. Crikey, shocking, Admin, please remove this thread, its of no use to anyone after reading that
  19. A few days ago there was a post about a 320i BMW that I can't seem to find. Anyway I spotted this one on trademe, looks like a fairly honest tidy example, 135,000k on the clock, although thats to be taken with a grain of salt, low k's on old cars can be meaningless, its all about the condition and how its been looked after etc. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-255622609.htm
  20. Some say the 318i has similar performance to a 320i but less fuel consumption
  21. The great thing about E30's is that there are still plenty of them around, while a tidy manual 325i E30 might set you back a good 5k or so, often you can find one for 2-3k thats just on the edge of being a dunger, but also good enough that it can be saved with not too much expense. If your a DIY type person then maybe doing a conversion is right for you, but if paying someone else to do it, the bill can become rather large in a short amount of time. Converting it to manual may improve your fuel economy slightly and make your car alot more fun to drive, but if you were going to go to that trouble then you might aswell upgrade the engine at the same time, an economical method could be finding a crashed 325i manual and taking both the engine and gearbox from it. Even though a 325i only has 40hp more, it also has more torque. You can plug a 325i ecu straight in on your facelift 320i, infact you can just take the 325i eprom from a 325i ecu and put it in yours. I own both a 325i Manual and 320i Auto, the difference is Night and Day
  22. Of course its possible I wouldn't bother though, just sell it and get a 325i Manual, alot cheaper in the long run
  23. Its likely the intank fuel pump, mine failed on me recently, (320i) when I was at couplands getting lunch, damn annoying.. i ended up buying a brand new fuel pump, landed for $335 for a VDO/SIEMENS oem one, (entire unit) was nice and easy to install as it as the entire thing that goes into the tank, not just the pump. The stealership quoted $805 + GST for the same fuel pump I got mine from autohausaz.com and it only took 3 days to arrive from the states. I didn't bother with a second hand one, as in my mind any 20 year old + fuel pump is on borrowed time
  24. I can vouch for the Image Dynamics stuff being awesome, even my Little 10inch IDQV2 really sounds good, alot of people can't believe that its a tiny wee 10inch either, they assume its a 12inch, having a good amp really helps.
