  1. Put a buynow price up. Added pics of some of the reciepts etc, totalling $6000.. not that it means alot now, just shows that its been looked after.
  2. The bodys alot better then the UK import one I had, no signs of any rust. Interior is good, but dash cracked, front seats no rips and look perfect, back seat back cusion looks a little worn.. Carpet is good too. Price.. well.. seeing what interest I get to start with.. reserve is set at $2500 on trademe currently, no rush to sell as havn't found a replacement car for the missus yet. Cheers This one might be a bit closer to home for you http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-294552737.htm
  3. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=294038616 The auto 320i is now going under the hammer, the best part is the 15" basket weaves, but these aint exactly easy to find either. Have had it over a year, has been a good runner mostly. Remote central locking via remote. A/C Regassed (But it kills any acceleration it had).
  4. Am considering this car as a Work runabout.. the CRX is rather..girly.. Then again this is auto.. but it should go better then my 320i at least. What would be a fair price for this car? considering cambelt is due for change, bonnet needs a respray etc. It would inherit the 15" factory basketweaves I have, bonnet respray, and below the bumper, colour coding of side trim perhaps.. or not.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=292787081 Cheers
  5. E36 only gets 1.5 Stars out of 5 on EURONCAP http://www.euroncap.com/tests/bmw_3_series_1997/15.aspx according to them you are basically stuffed if your the driver and you crash. If an E30 was tested this way it would probably get 0/5 stars.. Cars only started doing well on crash tests after 2002 pretty much.. but even then.. the tests are only done at low speeds, I don't think it would matter what car your in at the speeds depicted on the video
  6. Yes. but I want something super cheap that I have to tidy up thats a bit rough around the edges.. ie http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=289398605 So it depends what comes up.. My Missus works for a panel beaters, bmw specialist one.. so bodywork repairs aint too much trouble (minor stuff that is)
  7. I've noticed these can be had for very little cash (in automatic form). I used to have a manual E30 325i and still have my auto E30 320i (gutless) how much better to drive would a E36 325i in auto be to drive? I took the auto e30 320i on a road trip to Nelson and back last weekend (800ks round trip) for an old car it did ok, but got kinda uncomfortable after a while, performance wise, handling was ok but performance for over taking is somewhat... lacking .
  8. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...500&ed=true I need it out the way, so $1 res it is.. its a non runner, but someone might want it for parts. its pickup in CHCH only.
  9. 2x 10mm slip on spacers,2x 20mm bolt ons, H&R brand, were on 335i from 2006. light markings due to getting them off the hubs Selling on Behalf of a mate. Centre hole is 72mm SOLD pending payment etc to Silverfox $250
  10. Have an offer of $5500, said I'd take it, so its sold maybe.. if they ring back.. I'm tempted to buy that old 528i with 535i engine
  11. Thats a pretty cool car, am tempted to buy it if my E30 ends up selling, had a bit of interest in it today.. so anythings possible
  12. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...059&ed=true Cars now sold.. took the $5500 offer.
  13. I might keep an eye on this auction, looks like a good daily driver replacement for my gutless e30 320i auto, I had one of these E36 320i's years ago, had more power then the E30 320i for sure, but mine was cursed with the Jatco Transmission, was this one changed over to a ZF?
  14. All good.. have gone one now.. thanks to Don and Dean
  15. It looks like another rusty UK Import to me hehe Its got worse sunroof rust then my UK import.. would want to check in all the problem areas thats for sure.. as it was in the UK for a while. 8 years infact.
  16. I know how you feel.. my white car now owes me $8k and looks the same (except for the wheels) when I purchased it for 3k.. doh. BMW = Biggest Money Waster or Broke My Wallet No need to quote whole posts... just use the reply button at the very bottomof the page
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-268960338.htm Might be worth a look?
  18. This will sound stupid, i put some fuel in it and now its fine.. It was down between emtpy and 1/4 a tank.. so should have been fine.. could this be fuel pump related? maybe fuel filter? Cheers
  19. But now the cars not running well over 4000rpm under heavy acceleration, it hesitates and feels like its losing power. Its idling fine and running fine at low engine speeds (better then before). What have I done? lol
  20. Yeah, been using it as the daily driver the last 2 weeks, yay someone saw me Its a bit of a beast really.. sounds "tough" due to the odd header configuration i think.. you probably noticed how black my white bumper is looking too.. Just recieved today: new Intake boot, Vac hoses, fuel filter, sparkplugs, valve cover gasket and having new valve stem seals fitted next week (carefully without removing head lol). Not sure if it was blowing smoke when you were following me.. only does it when cold as far as I can tell.. hence stem seals.
  21. LOL I failed to look at the profile. All i know is that every car i've had without cat converter has had an annoying amount of black crap end up all over the back bumper (noticable on Light Coloured cars), but in this case I don't think its going to be a problem. This happened on all the cars i've owned (without cats), including my current white E30 325i, which was factory non cat version. These were not all old cars like my E30 either, some were low km's year 2000 + models. My mechanic mate claims its due to NZ"s crap fuel.. I think he's right too, as when I had AVGAS in the car for one tank fill I had no black carbon crap on the back bumper . (I wash it off often, this picture depicts 1 weeks driving).
  22. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-267900335.htm I would be quite keen on this car if it had the traditional Twin Headlight Front like my old Golf GTI had. Always had a soft spot for Mk2 Golfs
  23. 1: 1984 Nissan Sunny Leprix Turbo Sedan- Blew a headgasket between 2 cylinders on a road trip and on another road trip the distributor failed, so 2x this car left me stuck on the side of the road, and a 3rd time the gearbox failed on me, but luckily one of the gears still worked so I was able to limp it home. thankfully I was an AA member, it was kind of my fault though, I had a T25 Turbo and Intercooler added, was running 16psi boost and had 180hp at the wheels.. lol. The torque steer was dangerous in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear, and the handling was just plain terrible, I converted the car back to standard before I sold it as I deemd it to be too dangerous. 2. 1980 Leyland Mini 1000, Yeah, I know, classic car icon, but these cars are gutless and have horrible gearboxes and clutch etc, noisy, rattley pieces of crap, you get no respect on the road when you drive one of these, all you get is people overtaking you everywhere and tailgating you, unless you get the Classic Cooper S model its not worth it. 3. 1997 Honda Torneo SIR-T, these cars have a really nasty EPS steering system (Electronic Steering Rack) that neally always fails.. as did mine, was quoted $4000 to repair at Honda. But the worst thing about this steering system is the lack of feel/feedback you get with it. The 2Litre Vtec engine makes no low down torque, the car comes in at over 1300kg, but you need the RPM needle over 5000rpm to get it to move, then the RPM limiter kicks in too early. This was the 1st car I took to a trackday, which was when I learnt how dull the EPS steering system is.
  24. I wouldn't do it if you have a light coloured car, as you end up with black crap from the exhaust all over the back of the car with no cats.
