Nice Brent! How much did the tune set you back? PM me if you want. Cheers
-
Hurry up Brent...shoulda posted here first then the what did you do to your bmw today thread!
-
In 4 mins after you posted it...wow you guys are quick!
-
Can I have your old one?
-
+1. Henry's cars month is almost up!
-
Depends if you like traction or not haha. First is pretty short. Second is fine. To start off in second from a standstill you have to slip clutch a bit, so I just use first. A lot of people recommend 3.15, but I was after a bit more pickup (and a forum sponsor happened to have one sitting around)

450nm of torque? Is that right? That's more than an e39 540i!
-
Sucks to hear that! The hard part is sourcing the stuff! I was quite lucky and sourced it all from the same person basically. 2.93 = about 1900rpm 3.46 = about 2450rpm in 6th at 100kph. She cruises much better at 50 now in 6th...didn't like it with the 2.93, and I feel this has helped me around town. Feel free to ask any questions you may have down the line. Cheers, Ian

Come to AKL for the anniversary meet...i'd take you for a spin

My auto e34 540i ran a 15.0 flat down the quarter. The evo 5/6 in the lane next to me ran a 14.6 if that's any indication. I started pulling on him and if I had a manual box at the time i'd say it would have been pretty close. From a roll i've beaten an evo 4 before...don't think the guy knew wtf happened haha. An e39 540i is faster.

Keen, maybe rolling slicks then -
Just finished using some WD40 (google showed lots of people using this with some success). Works wonders, basically wipes straight off. Then gave the car a clean to get the sh*t off.... Cheers

Hey guys, Guess I should start cleaning car in preparation for Anniversary day meet. I still have rubber all over the guards/bumper/quarter panels and am wondering what tips you all have? Thanks! Ian
-
Wow that looks good. Nice!
-
Cheap! Someone jump on it
-
Would love to see some pics of the car...even if he doesn't decide to sell. Cheers, Ian

Buy e30 325i. Enjoy it for what it is. Once you're finished at school and have a fulltime job then perhaps look into something a bit faster. A 325i is cheap, looks great and goes pretty well for what it is! That's my opinion anyway
-
Muahahaha, a convert to facelift grill/hood - suck that Lance! FYI - Facelift (post 93) e34s have the same grill/hood...so 525i as well. Might help with your hunt?
-
Why don't you just rebuild the engine in the blue car? You already have a semi complete race car...just lacks the oomph you want....makes sense this way?
-
I recommend a JB racing FW - although it is expensive as you can see
-
I will ask my mate if he is keen. He has an american LHD e12 535i with diving boards

Hi guys, My friend is interested in the following vehicle and i'm after your thoughts. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-343087285.htm I know a pre-purchase inspection is definitely required before purchasing such a vehicle.... What do you think about the price? Cheers, Ian
