Buy E30-is's 15" BBS RS's he has for sale.... that'd look hot!

Awesome car! It also features in Jeremy Clarkson's "Supercar Showdown" DVD. The guy who built and developed the Ascari also built and lives on this huge race circuit in Spain. Every corner is modeled after famous corners from racetracks around the world. He is absolutely loaded!!!

Hey mate, only got one quote to have it painted before I decided to go a different route, but it was gonna cost $200 at the most.

I've been focussing on cosmetic mods, so haven't waded too deep into researching the performance side of things, but I've heard good things about Remus and Supersprint exhausts.
-
Do the exhaust first.... you'll get far more gains. Or as has been said, get a proper airbox fabbed up rather than just a heat shield.

Bought this off Trademe last week, but have decided to go with my original plan of fitting a lip to the stock bumper, so now this is surplus to requirements. I paid $400, reserve is $300. Item in perfect condition and in original packaging, only unpacked once to check bumper was OK after being driven halfway down the country in a big truck! Trademe Link

Time to make a sticky yet admin peops? Ha!

Hey mate, first of all welcome to the site.... This topic has been covered a few times, do a search of the site and see what you can find. General consensus is the 323 will get similar power to the 325 by fitting a freer-flowing exhaust, however the M52 engine develops more torque in standard form than the older M50. Likewise with the chip discussion, this has been covered also.... if my memory serves me correctly, the best idea is to get your ECU re-mapped as opposed to fitting a chip... however you can buy chips from the states or UK.... just don't buy the ones on Trademe! Hope this helps, - Mark.

Ring around some wreckers and see what they've got. You may find a bargain. If the wrecker knows his stuff though they'll prob charge you an arm and a leg.... I was looking for an m-tech front bumper and one wrecker wanted $1000 for the one he had!!! Needless to say, I bought a replica off Trademe!

Here's a pic of my m3 style rear diffuser for a non-m bumper.... I bought mine off a member on here but you can get them in from the States for around $150. Failing that, save up for the rear M-bumper, it will make it look the most complete if you already have the skirts and front bumper!

Buy a Euro plate holder from BMW, they cost about 50 bucks.

Hi and welcome.... you've sure spent a lot of time lurking around! I'm not sure you'll find many members on here with a car like yours unfortunately! I'm guessing you're a BMW car club member too? If you haven't already, check out the article in the latest Total BMW mag on a 1972 3.0CSL that's powered with an engine from an E12 M535i. Fascinating read.

Cheers guys, all helpful suggestions! Need the car looking good as it's being used as a wedding car in Feb... not that anyone's gonna give a sh*t about chipped paint other than me!!!
-
Only a BMW driver would fight to save their car like that!! Haha!

Cain, I've tried to find this place in the phone book to no avail..... do you have an address/ph number? Going quote-shopping tomorrow morning, so basically I'll be choosing between panelbeaters who open on Saturday mornings!

Need some recommendations for a good place to take my car to get my front-end resprayed. Please let me know of anyone who you've used in the past with pleasing results! Cheers!

In my opinion you shouldn't let your car near them. They leave streaking and can leave swirls in your paint. Real chamois's contain acids that can strip off wax etc. I use microfibre towels to dry my car down. Another good tip is once you've finished washing your car, pull off the spray nozzle, and hold the hose over the roof of the car, the water will cascade off the car and you'll have less water to dry off.

Nice car.... but there's one in Wellington which is a far nicer example and they're only asking $21k... so there may need to be a slight price adjustment!

Nosepanel has been purchased and have decided to simply paint stock bumper instead of replace it with an m-tech item. So, question now is where in Christchurch do you recommend I get the paintwork done? Let me know your fav panelbeaters please!

Hey Dean This should be an easy DIY job. Pop down to any reputable auto paint shop and get them to colour match a spray can of paint for your car. Then find a replacement fog blank from a wreckers and paint it yourself. As for fitting the new one; should just clip in but if you're unsure take the other one out to see how it fits in there! Good luck! P.S: This is your colour code if the paint shop needs it: 231 Mineralblau Mineral Blue Metallic Blue 51 91 1 973 948

Battery is prob just so dead that it won't crank. Charge the battery up overnight and see if that works.

Cheers for that ... got the grills, which is why I need the nosepanel haha! Hmmm if bumper is going to be really expensive I might just stick to my original plan of buying a lip for the stock bumper.

Hey all. As some of you noticed at the Chch meet, the front of my car is "good from afar, but far from good". The bumper, nosepanel and bonnet is stonechipped to hell and I'm going to have these parts resprayed soon. However I thought if I'm going to the expense of painting all this why not facelift my car at the same time? So I need: - A facelift nosepanel (painted Boston green would be ideal, but I'm not fussed) - And an M-tech front bumper (once again in Boston green would RULE) More so just looking for prices on the bumper for comparison when I ring up wreckers. I'm imagining freighting a bumper will cost a shiteload! Everyone's help is appreciated as usual! Cheers, Mark.
