    Super DIY weekend

Glad I could be of service with regards to getting your arse into gear! Eurorec is on Blenheim Road, on the left hand side as you're heading towards Sockburn. It's off the street a bit so you need to look for a sign that says "DRIVELINE IMPORTS LTD". If you get to Supercheap Auto you've gone too far.
  2. All good monsta.... glad we all could be of help. Paintball you say? Perhaps you should suggest that in the thread about the upcoming Chch meet.... now that would be fun!!
  3. Where's that guy with the red 535 for sale.... he'll black it out for you on the cheap!!
  4. Brings new meaning to the saying "0-100 in 15 minutes"!!! I'd love to see a pic of this, is the clock the same size as a regular tachometer?
  5. Yuen is right... that valuation is quite high. My car is very similar (sedan vs coupe though) and I have it insured at an agreed value of $10k which is still on the high end for these cars. Also, I'm not sure how old you are, but the AA wouldn't insure me for a car with a 2.5 litre engine even though I've been driving accident free for 7 years and never claimed on my insurance. (I'm 24)... so something to bear in mind I guess. Good luck.... we need more Bimmer owners from Christchurch on the forum!
  6. You can get it here in a segmented *.rar file.... prob faster than a torrent. Supercar Showdown Watched it the other day.... pretty cool DVD.

Yup.... much more expensive than that new. I'm sure you wouldn't have much trying to find a 2nd hand set for a coupe, I was pretty lucky to find a set for a sedan straight off... they were the last set they had. And I agree on the looks thing.... they look so much cleaner than the stock ones!

    Super DIY weekend

Mouldings cost $200. Thankfully they came with most of the clips intact because when I went to replace the 7 broken ones at BMW, I got stung 4 bucks PER CLIP!!!! For that money I expected them to be handmade in front of me by the CEO of BMW Germany!!!

Oh no... so you've still got holes in the panels??? I can't believe people neglect their cars like that!
  10. Haha... it's amazing how photoshop can make a humble 3 series look awesome! Cheers mate!
  11. There's a light purple (not sure of colour name) one in Chch that drives past me everyday when I walk to work. It's always really dirty....shame on the owner if you're out there!! Shame on you!
  12. I'd be really keen for an M-sport rear diffuser for a non-M bumper if you can source one. Cheers!

    Super DIY weekend

There were a few things on my 325i that were really bugging me, so this weekend I went into completely focussed DIY mode. No one could stop me, not even my girlfriend pleading with me to "please take a shower, you stink". The main thing that was hacking me off was that my rear door panels had pulled away at the window sill. This is what they looked like before (this isn't a pic of my door, but that's what they looked like): And after spending 18 dollars (!!!!) on new clips from Chch BMW and using - believe it or not - popsicle sticks and epoxy to reinforce the part of the panel they clip into I got them to look like this: Brilliant! Tight as a nun's nether regions! I also fixed my sagging glovebox and broken passenger airvents by replacing the whole vent/latch assembly with one from Eurorec on Blenheim Road: And I also tidied up my ipod installation. 50 cents for a grommet at Para Rubber and it almost looks factory: Then on went the mtech mouldings that I'd picked up on a whim while at Eurorec: And after a wash and some fiddling round with Photoshop, here's the newly revived green beast: So that's my DIY weekend. Clear lights are next on the menu, followed by a Rieger front lip and perhaps some H&R sport springs to bring it down to earth a little more. But in the meantime, it's time for a beer! - Mark.
  14. That list doesn't look too bad... remember, you are looking at buying what is now a 13 year old car! It's not going to be perfect, but the only thing I'd worry about is the "timing chain rattle". As has already been said it could be the VANOS. While this may just be a noise, if it craps out totally it could be expensive to fix. I'd take the car to a BMW specialist and see what they say first before you rule the car out totally though. And I also have OBC issues.... I don't think I've seen an E36 without them!! P.S: If you're referring to the hood in my sig, it's just a photoshop.... wouldn't ever do that to the green beast even if I did have the money!!
  15. I'm confused, how can an Alpina tuned car be cheaper than the original M3? Don't Alpina buy the standard car off BMW and then modify it?
  16. This could lead to all sorts of pranks.... for example, you're cruising along, checking out some ladies and then just as they look... BAM, your mate flicks the switch and your car's colour changes to fluoro pink! Haha!
  17. Just for the record, those are AC Schnitzer replica wheels not the genuine article. I have a set on my car the same, they're called "Advanti Essens". Also, it's not lowered as my car sits at that height on the stock springs. It looks very tidy though... good luck with the purchase. And do us a favour if you do buy it: Take the M badge off! ipod to itunes

CopyTrans is the big daddy of these types of programs. It's compatible with the newest version of itunes. Not sure of what the limitations are on the shareware version but give it a shot.
  19. Howdy, welcome to the forum!
  20. Just do a google search for "DVD to mp3 rip".... plenty of programmes pop up, the main one being "DVD Audio Ripper". Download.com has heaps of Audio/DVD shareware and freeware... have a browse around there too.

    Bodykits

What's the price on a 4 door E36 motorsport kit?
  22. There's not a lot of rubber on those wheels!!! Sure looks "bling" but what's the ride like??
  23. I concur with JP..... spend your money on a nice headunit and front components.... rear speakers are just for fill. Factory BMW headunits are, in general, shite. Upgrade your headunit first and see how the stock speakers sound after that, I've done this on my E36 and it sounds 10 times better without a lot of outlay in terms of $$$. If the sound is still not to your liking, go with some nice components up front. /my 2 cents.
  24. I get it sometimes, but deleting my cookies/temp internet files always fixes it.... Not sure what to do if you've still got the problem after doing that.
